They have clean restrooms, a nice shaded picnic area, a small deck by the lake to sit and enjoy. It is my favorite place in Findlay to take a hike.

It's absolutely beautiful but not as big as other parks and not much to do but just sit down on a swing and enjoy the birds singing, looking at the lush green grass. Such a shame that there are so few people taking advantage of the park on a beautiful day. There is a private campground right next to it that all the seasonal camper has to do is take a step into the state park. Unfortunately we drove there as that is where the maps/gps led us. The actual campground is 1.6 miles or so away. So you can only go to the camper with your rv via the road. I'm unsure if we are able to hike to the state park via the state campground.

I have driven by this place about a thousand times in the past ten years but never had a chance to…read morestop. Finally, over a holiday weekend, I took my mom to check it out. We walked the trails on the south side of 224 (around the house and barn). They're decently marked, wooded, and peaceful. (I was a bit confused by the orange blazes, since that wasn't on my map, but overall, you can't really get lost.) We also checked out the routes on the north side of 224-where there's a horse trail. We were hoping for a river walk and a bit disappointed to find the trail in the blazing sun and not close enough to the river. But, all in all, there aren't many trail options in the Putnam/Hancock area, so this is a pretty solid destination. The grounds also have a substantial play ground for kids, shelter houses, and picnic areas. There are restrooms and water and also the barn seems to always be booked with a party/reception.

Nice park with lots of activites, shelters, bathrooms, and other activity options…read more I went there for Disc Golf. The disc golf course is 18 holes that play close to each other. This is a wonderful Par 3 course. I shot right around par for the course. They say that some of the holes are Par 4 and one Par 5 but I would play them as Par 3s and maybe the 18th as a Par 4. I am just recreational player and if I can Birdie a few holes and par most of the others then you know it isn't too difficult. Most of the holes range from 250-350ft. There is minimal trees in the fairway and I didn't have any issues with trying to find discs. No dense woods or brush. Only one hole comes near to water which still is no issue unless you have a mean slice to the left. There is also a nice bike/horse/walking path around the park. I believe this covers most of my wants and needs for a park. The disc gold course could be advanced a little with a few more pro tees that are not within 20 ft of the normal tee.

Huh??? There was a metal box in a breezeway that said donations. Ok so I placed books underneath so someone with some ambition could sort in the morning. Nope, guy comes out and says I am littering. Took books to Goodwill. Don't know what was up with this apparently lazy man. Won't donate again despite being a generous patron over the years.
