And they have refused to issue a refund. I can NOT stress enough, you do not want to deal with this place. The customer service is atrocious, and the swimming lessons are mediocre. Go somewhere else - trust me!

They are extremely responsive and communication is quick and constant (weekly reminders sent about the schedule/curriculum, field trip, water play, and adjustments to the curriculum due to weather). We enrolled in about 4 other camps and this is the only camp where my daughter has come home excited to share about the day's activities. Activities are screen free and intentionally match each week's theme. They have weekly water play and field trips. They seem extremely organized. Also conveniently located a short walk from the metro and inside (helpful on extremely hot days). If all goes well, we'll likely just do this camp next year. Honestly think it's one of the better camps in Takoma.

My issue is with the lack from management to understand that sometimes listening to the client about taking a break is just as important. I had been going twice a week for over six months and felt I needed to see if I could manage my "stiffness" on my own for a while. I had just been charged for a new plan of sessions and so had four remaining streches on my account when I asked I could take a break and come back in 4-6 months and use the remaining paid stretches. The manager, Brendan, assured me he "had me" and things would be on hold until I decided to return. Then, this past month, I had a new charge on my credit card for a new set of stretches, and when I reached out, no offer to refund those charges and if I wanted to cancel it would require a 30-day notice, which I know is in the contract, however I had asked not to have any new stretches added to my account several months prior and he ignored that request. In my opinion they should have reached out to me prior to charging my credit card with new stretches since I was on a break and not just charged my card without letting me know. When I wrote an email back to Brendan, he did not even respond to it! Needless to say I am very disappointed with how this was handled and will find other options for stretching moving forward.

The staff and administration are incredibly organized and provide a great deal of communication, everything from monthly and weekly lesson plans, an up-to-date daily photos and captions, and great verbal updates each day when we pick up our babies. I couldn't be more pleased with the educational track. They begin each new transition with a one-one meeting to discuss schedules, teaching philosophy, and provide an opportunity for parents to provide input. Throughout the child's stay, they provide detailed input of his/her progress through a true educational and physical standards -- showing milestones and next steps. I am certain that a large reason for my oldest was preparation and familiarity with PreK was from his days at the Harbor. Lastly, but just as important, I have observed that the leadership is incredibly supportive of their staff -- which is why we have had such a low turnover of teachers. At the same time, we have seen several teachers grow into expanded roles. We are so pleased that it's such a great family environment at The Harbor.

Full disclosure, this is not for everyone; it's not a quick fix, it's not a cardio workout, and it's not showy. This is a long process of understanding internal structure, physics, and how to exert your body in a different way than you're used to. If you're interested in gaining a new understanding of your own body and how to weaponise your posture (yes, posture can be a weapon), give it a try. Or, if you think this isn't real and doesn't work, come and try it anyway. The only way to know is try it out and we're always ready to welcome people with an open or curious appetite.

Unfortunately, I was unable to get inside because I could not find the door access code anywhere in the app, and there was no one at the front desk to assist. After spending several minutes trying to locate the code, I eventually had to call the studio so someone could let me in. It took additional time before someone answered and came to the front door. By then, approximately 10 minutes had passed since the class began. When I explained that I was there for yoga, I was asked whether it was my first class. I replied that it was my second, and I was then informed that the studio has a 5-minute grace period for late arrivals and that I would not be allowed to join the class. What is frustrating is that I actually arrived at the studio within that 5-minute grace period. The only reason I was past the cutoff was because I could not access the building and was unable to get assistance for several minutes. By the time someone finally opened the door, I was told I could no longer attend. I understand and respect policies regarding late arrivals, especially for yoga classes. However, it was disappointing to be turned away despite arriving within the allowed grace period, simply because I could not access the building and no staff member was available to assist me in a timely manner.
