Pastor Ed, his wife, Jenna, and all the church members were once again wonderfully warm and welcoming. Services are held in person and simultaneously also on Zoom. The liturgy and the words for the hymns are displayed on a large video screen so there's no fear of not being able to follow along. They also have an amazing spread during the social hour immediately following the service! Not just your typical coffee and cookies or donuts, but more like hors d'oeuvres and snacks! Go check it out! They will welcome you with genuine smiles and hearty handshakes. You're sure to feel uplifted afterwards.

I was expecting for the Priest to be more welcoming to out of town guests, but it was all just kind of robotic. I love going to Mass, but afterwards I have to admit I was a little disappointed. I'm still glad I went though. The Church itself is small, but it does have a unique beauty about it.

From just talking with him for a few minutes before we left, I appreciated his humility and graciousness. Worship was wonderful as well. Alas, the sign on the door said no masses until July 2. Apparently, the slow ski season affects the church as well! (In spite of the fact that skiing remains open because of the heavy snow this year.) Not surprisingly, the church is locked at other times, so you can't go in for prayers or silent meditation. Nonetheless, I'm sure this church is quite popular during heavy ski times at Squaw.

The priest was interesting and light-hearted. The architecture is remarkable and appropriate to its mountain setting. The view beyond the altar is magnificent. The wedding coordinator was really nice on the phone but in person she was downright nasty…read more She was rude to our family, she was rude to our photographer, and she was rude to our guest. After the rehearsal our family members commented on her bizarre attitude but we dismissed it as just a bad mood or something. However, the next day the photographer arrived at the church a little early to scope things out and then came to my room. There she commented that the coordinator was not nice at all. Then, after the wedding, a lot of our guest had stories for us about her snappy and impolite demeanor. The bagpiper even commented that she wasn't right in the head or something along those lines. Not only was she rude but she actually tried to sabotage things. Minutes after I arrived, and before we were even lined up, she started the music. My husband had to grab his unsuspecting mom and rush down the aisle and everyone was scrambling to lineup. The worst part about her doing this was our minister was unable to make an announcement explaining that amazing grace was playing to honor our deceased loved ones, like my father and both our grandparents. Also, during the rehearsal she told me she would tell each of the wedding party members when to walk and that she would straighten my train for me before I walked. This did not happen. Instead she stood in the back with her arms crossed and a mean look on her face. To top things off she harangued my husband as he was just about to walk down the aisle and immediately after the ceremony was over she started in on me. As my husband was getting ready to walk down the aisle she told him he needed to pay an additional $100 because I was a half hour late. Then, as I am taking pictures after the ceremony, she starts harassing me about needing a copy of the marriage certificate. All in all even though the anti-coordinator tired her best to ruin things for whatever reasons she had we still managed to have an amazing time! We didn't go into it wanting things to be perfect we went into it wanting to become husband and wife and that's exactly what happened! On a side note I must make it known that the minister of this church, he originally showed us around, was delightful! I hope some of his wonderful personality rubs off on that lady because she really needs it ;) and I hope she pass the torch asap because she should not be allowed around people on their special day!

I would almost move to Truckee to go to this church! (Well, almost. I don't like snow or cold, so…read morethat would be one downside.) What a pleasant surprise! We were staying across the street, so early Sunday morning I jogged across to visit. The people here were all incredibly welcoming and friendly. They even insisted I have a free cappuccino from their little coffee shop. The music director gave me a little tour around the facility, answering all of my questions, and generally just being a very nice person. He did a fantastic job leading the hymns today. It looked me like everyone in the church was singing along! The minister, Jesse, is quite an accomplished speaker. It was a challenging, yet informative message this morning. His sermon was on the Book of Ruth. This Sunday was hymn Sunday, in which they sang traditional hymns. Wow--they were all my favorites! A wonderful Fellowship full of friendly people. I cannot say enough good things about this church.
