Hana Sherif, the artistic director is tapping into so many amazing stories that capture the African American experience in America. The latest hit is Chez Joey which is here till 3/15/26. The play is a 10 out of 10. It's a love triangle story that takes place in 1940's Chicago at a jazz club. Joey is a young ambitious entertainer looking to make a name for himself and has to choose between true love or being bought by a rich baroness who can easily fund his dreams. The dancing and singing is electrifying and steamy, the story is told well and highly engaging. On Wednesdays they've added a complimentary jazz concert from 6:15 to 7pm that takes place in the lobby with seating. Check out Arena's lineup, they are procuring amazing work this season.

This trip to Arena Stage was for Step Afrika Holiday show!…read more We picked up our tickets from the box office and explored some of the season decorations in the lobby. Took some quick pictures with the tree and the arches, then got our tickets scanned and went upstairs. Lots of pretty decorations for the season - one large Christmas tree and a bunch of smaller ones above glistening with white lights. The show was in the Fichandler Stage, which has seats 360 around it - not a bad seat in there! Step Afrika!'s Magical Musical Holiday Step Show was fabulous! They handed out maracas and other noise makers upon entering the theater. We were in Row D on the North Side, which was amazing seats! The show ran for 90 minutes without an intermission. What a show! The talent of these artists are top notch!! The rhythm, the choreography, the music, the energy, the skill, the talent, the props were so impressive! They get the audience part of the fun throughout the show with the noisemakers, chatting, dance battles, and even two opportunities to join them on the floor to learn some steps! This was my first time seeing this show and I certainly can see how it's a tradition year after year for so many. You can tell all the hard work and dedication of this cast! Bravo to them!

Went on the very last day of the exhibition for the season. I'm glad I went but the overall…read moreexperience was underwhelming as far as festivities. The ICE sculptures were impressive as you see in the pictures, and very representative of the movie. You really needed to dress warm, the parks they supplied did not do much for added warmth and even with all my winter gear, I didn't find I wanted to spend a lot of time inside. Once we left, we figured go by the Christmas village etc. they advertised, but literally everything else was packed up. You just went into the exhibit and walked out and that was it. So, im sure similar ones will come along at Gaylord, I guess plan to go when there's more than the sculptures to see.

I rather watch the Polar Express in 144p resolution quality than come here again…read more This was not worth $50... First of all, you get timed tickets for entry, but that doesn't matter honestly, because you're probably going to wait an hour until you finally get into the ICE exhibit. You wait in the Gaylord hallway and then in the Christmas village where they finally scan your tickets, wait in the Gaylord hallway again, back into the village to get these parkas, before you finally go outside to go into the exhibit, which is so small and probably took around 10-15 minutes to go through. I spent more time in this line than the exhibit... The ice sculptures are cute and it's crazy to think someone made these, but it's not worth the money and time to wait in such a line for this! Not to mention some people don't have manners at times so it can get chaotic with taking photos and kids running around. Ice slide is not worth it. This place is not lying about being 9 degrees Fahrenheit so be prepared to be cold. Overpriced "merch" at the end of the exhibit with meh branding and overpriced ornaments and toys you can probably find somewhere else for cheaper.

I truly enjoy coming to DDF. They offer many fitness classes for varying skill levels. DDF…read morespecializes in pole fitness, floor work, and chair dancing. They also offer classes like stretch, yoga, mixed fit, Zumba and more. If you want to build on your skill set this is the studio for you. I focus on the cirque sensual side of the studio (so acro chair, aerial hoop, and pole silks). It's a lot of fun and I have progressed since I began almost 2 years ago. I just wish there were more classes and levels offered within the cirque membership. It's been great working with the current instructors. Though I miss many of the old instructors, each instructor - old and new - brings their own uniqueness and fun to the studio.

I purchased a package of yoga classes from Groupon. The owner was kind enough to apply the package to my account, which I appreciated. Originally, I was supposed to be able to book the classes directly through Groupon, but I was unable to do so. Not a big deal. However, what is a big deal, is the fact that on the same day that the package was applied to my account, I informed the owner that I would be attending a class. I registered for the class and everything through the app. It is nice that they have their own app. However, Things started to crumble when I actually arrived. I register for the class less than two hours before it started. Actually, I think it was within an hour. When I arrived, there was no greeting when I entered the building. There was a young woman sitting at a desk on a computer. I informed her it was my first time and asked what I needed to do. She checked me in, but said nothing else. She didn't indicate if I should wait, go back to the class, what was going on. So, I sat down next to another woman who had a yoga mat. About 10 minutes later, and definitely after the scheduled start of class, another woman came in with a yoga mat and proceeded to walk right through the door next to the desk. At that point, we realize that maybe we were able to go back. So, we started to. However, in order to get to the back room where yoga is held, you have to walk-through to pole/chair dancing classes. I hate walking through other people's classes that are actively taking place. But whatever. It would've been fine if we hadn't been made to wait because they were recording videos of the dancers.Like... I'm already late. PLEASE. So, we eventually find our way to the yoga room, which is really a pole room but it has enough space for yoga. As soon as we entered, an instructor made note of the fact that we would not be needing our yoga mats today. I was immediately annoyed and confused. Why would I not need a yoga mat for a yoga class? It was at that point that she informed us that we would be participating in a "chair one "class because the yoga instructor asked her to sub. Now, remember, when I said that I had just booked the class? You don't think the owner knew this? You don't think she should've maybe mentioned that to me as the person who clearly had signed up for yoga for a reason? And the chair one class was nothing like what I had hoped for. It was not a chair dance class. It was a "cardio" class for people with mobility issues. Based on the looks of things, nobody in that class had mobility issues. I was so tight. I ended up doing all of the exercises standing up because I was already there and needed to work out. I absolutely left with an attitude. However, I try to give small businesses, grace. I came back the next week. And when I did, I experienced a yoga flow that was confusing, and not relaxing at all. In fact, during the entire flow, you could hear the ex excessively loud and upbeat music from the chair and pole classes. And, the instructor kept having issues with the sound during our session. I did not like the flow, I did not like the cues. This wouldn't have even been a good intro to yoga class for someone who has never done it before. There was just too much unprofessional behavior here. And I absolutely would not recommend.
