Then, when I see the PA, I ask again about what are my options and plans for further knee solutions instead of just a shot? She has to look at my chart and leaves. Deja Vu, this is what happened during my last visit. *Maybe looking at my chart and being somewhat familiar with my situation after being a client for over a year would be nice and make me feel as if I have a doctor who is involved. Anyways, we talk. I figure out I'll need to keep up with physical therapy. It's a sensible prognosis. I'm sad though because I feel as though I don't have the support I need. I have friends who are clients of JOI and they are being supported and taken care of with shots, plans, and check-ins every step of the way. They have returned to their tennis team while I have not. I've read the other reviews and am glad others have had a great experience. Perhaps if I was getting surgery, I would get more service.

I started with Dr. Yurio and after a few sessions of physical therapy ordered an MRI. Turns out I completely tore my ACL and part of my meniscus. I was presented with my options and ultimately decided to have surgery to repair my injuries. I was transferred to Dr. Kaplan and he again presented me with my options. I decided to continue moving forward with the surgery. At no time was I pressured into having the surgery. For my lifestyle and health it made sense to move forward. Fast forward to surgery day - The surgery center is in the same building and is well maintained. I was introduced to several people who would be participating in the surgery and each one confirmed with me why I was there. It was clear patient care and safety was a top priority. Follow up appointments were a breeze. They email any paperwork required prior to the appt. And after check in the most I ever waited was 5 mins in the big waiting room or in the actual room. I saw either the PA and Surgeon during these appts. Both were professional and never made me feel rushed and felt comfortable asking questions. I was in and out in less than 30 mins from check in to check out. I had a positive experience from start to finish with this group of Dr.s and would recommend them. There are several Dr.s with different specialties available. I did see one of the foot Dr.s several years ago, can't recall his name, and did not have the same positive experience.

I think there are 3 good PTs here and Elizabeth is definitely one of them. Seriously, Elizabeth is amazing. I would only go to her. Only. The management really needs to do something about the younger therapists and front staff. It's bothersome. They're arrogant and if they don't want to be there they don't need to be. I said, "my knee is infected, don't I need an antibiotic "He said to leave it alone and he would see me in a year. My knee became more and more painful, so my daughter took me to the ER. The ER doctor said "you have a very serious infection." He started me on an IV of vancomycin. I had MRSA which had gotten so bad it was in my bone. I was admitted to the hospital. Dr P operated again, but the infection was still there. I was transferred to Dr Bell in the same practice. Dr Bell: specialized in knee and hip surgeries that had gone wrong. I underwent three more surgeries iand an additional hospital stay for blood transfusions as I had developed a bleeding ulcer because Dr. Picerno would not give me proper meds for pain, muscle spasms and stabbing joint pain. I was forced to take large doses of Advil. Dr Bell gave me meds for muscle spasms and nerve pain and Percocet for the pain in my knee. Because Dr. Picerno did not treat the infection when it first appeared, I almost lost my leg. I had a total of six hospital stays in one year which left me deeply in debt. I had to have expensive Cubicin IVs three times a day at home. It took one year to recover from MRSA. I am left with severe scar and a limp, loss of stamina and lifestyle.

Review for Nicklous Godley, PA -- Jacksonville Orthopedic Institute…read more this is my first review and I'm almost 70 years old I have been in chronic, excruciating hip pain since September 2024 and have been under JOI's care since November 2024. At my initial visit, I was diagnosed with bursitis and sent to Brooks Rehab for 11 sessions. After completing the rehab, I received no follow-up, no feedback, and no guidance on next steps. Months later, I found out my provider had quit -- but no one at JOI ever contacted me or continued my care. I was left in pain with nowhere to turn. Today, I had an appointment with Physician Assistant Nicklous Godley, and unfortunately, it was one of the most disheartening and unprofessional medical experiences I've ever had. From the moment he learned I wasn't ready to move forward with surgery, his demeanor completely changed. He became dismissive, cold, and disengaged. I explained that I've been waking up every night in pain and asked multiple times for him to complete an FMLA form so I wouldn't face consequences at work while trying to manage this condition. He refused, saying that I'm not a patient of his and that JOI would only consider FMLA after I scheduled surgery -- even though I've been with JOI for nearly a year. In the middle of the conversation, he did say, "I'm sorry this sounds so harsh," but by that point, the damage was done. His words and tone felt completely lacking in empathy. I came in desperate for relief and left feeling ignored and deeply disappointed. There is no continuity of care here, no accountability, and no real concern for what the patient is going through. I cannot recommend Nicklous Godley to anyone seeking compassion, understanding, or true medical support. I felt like he was a used car salesman if he wasn't gonna be able to close a deal by scheduling me with some sort of surgery! He brought up knee surgery back surgery and completely turn very rude and cold because I was not interested in surgery ! horrible experience today He asked and I quote "why are you here if you're not scheduling a surgery" Do your homework before you pick out this guy terrible experience Horrible bedside manner.

However...this facility has massive staffing issues. You literally cannot get anyone to answer the phone here. I showed up for a morning appointment recently, and the line to check in was 40 people deep, curling all the way around a pretty large room, with maybe three staffers actually working while the rest milled around. I had an afternoon appointment a couple months before that, and when I went to the lobby to check out and schedule a follow-up, there was literally one person working with ten patients waiting. I'm not sure what's going on, but they need to invest in hiring maybe twice as many folks to support the great doctors and nurses here. Otherwise this practice will grind to a halt.

I finally googled an orthopedic walk-in as we have them at home and I didn't want to get the flu or something else from a standard walk in. I called their number to see if the office close to me had walk in hours and they said no only Manderin office so they took my info to make a patient record for me and I drove over. Got there about 11:15 and they let me know Dr Brown was also seeing scheduled patients so it probably wouldn't be until 1 that I saw him. No problem I had expected a longer wait. They took X-rays right away and then someone did intake on me and back to the lobby I went to wait. About 1230 got called back to the room and he came in about 5 min later. He did some tests on my range of motion and suggested PT two times a week and to heat it and maybe take some Tylenol or Advil. If the pt doesn't improve the situation then they scheduled a follow up with a dr close to my place for 5 weeks out. Still waiting on the call to schedule PT about 15 hours later. Will update the review if I have any issues scheduling that!

I had overheard that he was running about 45 minutes behind from other patients who came in after me and that was really unacceptable. I'm not sure what happened during the day but when he did see me I didn't feel rushed. He took the time to listen to me and examine my thumb to see if there was something wrong with it. I was fitted with a brace, prescribed some NSAIDS, and have a follow-up appointment set for a few weeks away. I'm not sure that I want to come back to this location though. I'll see how my thumb does.

My general practitioner sent me to this location of Brooks rehab rehabilitation after discovering…read morethat somehow I had bursitis, tendinitis, and arthritis in both my shoulders and biceps. Following further evaluation by the physical therapist, Rachel Jeffries, that was assigned to my case... I began rehab three days a week for 12 weeks. I was assigned at home exercise exercises and stretches to do as well as see the therapist three days a week in the office. You would think that the exercises and stretches that you were doing to heal your body become easier overtime, but for me, the exact opposite happened. This is not doing anything wrong. It is because I was pushing myself too hard! Rachel was a wonderful PT! Very knowledgeable and very caring in what she was trying to heal and teach me how to heal myself! She was meticulous while determining the range of motion that was increased through her help and also in researching ways that I could continue to improve while at home! While I was under the care of Brooks rehab, I never once walked into my sessions to see that they were overbooked or understaffed! Each patient received personal one-on-one care from their therapist! Rachel was always attentive and ready to correct anything I was doing incorrectly or that could be detrimental to my healing! After 12 weeks, I was released to go back to work with good improvement in both shoulders and my biceps, but not long after I returned to work I had to have rotator cuff surgery on both of my shoulders! Post surgery I absolutely would've returned to Brooks rehab, but I took the easy way out and used the physical therapy team that was attached to my doctor's office at the hospital! Either way, I would highly recommend the team at Brooks Rehab! They provided some of the best physical therapy care that I have ever received!

They made me totally reschedule. Also, I had to get my doctor to sign off on the therapy within 30 days, and the therapist didn't send the paperwork to him until the week before my 30 days were up, and that was at my reminding her. Today when my therapist called in sick again, I was told I could not reschedule due to my doctor not signing their papers. I told them it's not mine or my doctor's fault, it's the therapist and Brooks for not getting him the paperwork in a timely manner. My doctor even told me in person he would sign it, but hadn't received their paperwork. I am now in limbo, without a therapist, because they won't reschedule me until they get the signed order. I will not be going back.
