Needed to do a simple transaction and checked for a First Hawaiian Bank and this Kaneohe Bay Shopping Center location popped up which I didn't recall having one here and it's because it's between biz and hidden behind parked cars lol! Located right next to T-Mobile which nearly came to a screeching halt after seeing it luckily there was lots of parking right in front and loved this cozy location as the tellers are so friendly and never waited as the biz section took me as soon as I walked up and was out of there in just a few before asking if I received their yearly pocket calendar which I didn't and was given one. Service is so friendly and polite and was happy to have found this convenient location which is on the top of my list. Thank you! read more

This review is not meant for 1 particular branch. It's meant for FHB headquarters. I've been a customer for 40 years!! NEVER has services & quality been worse than now! It's been deteriorating for the last few years. The employees are terrific. They work hard! I support them 100%. But it's obvious that administrative leadership has changed for the worse. Perhaps even computer software bc it takes longer than ever to execute a standard deposit. I really hope a new leader is found pronto! read more

Not a great experience. setting up an account with them was easy enough, but the problems occurred because of the lies I was told when opening account. I was crystal clear with the manager that I would be transferring funds from the State I was living in, to FHB in Kaneohe. I asked if there would be fees associated with transfers, because I would be making numerous transfers from my current bank to FHB. she assured me that there would be no fees. Well, I transferred a large sum to FHB, and was anticipating making more large transfers, until I saw that I was charged for the transfer!! I called the customer service line at FHB and explained the situation. honestly, the person I spoke to couldn't have cared less. Not only that, but I told her that I would be ending my business with FHB and using another Hawaiian bank for my personal account. Her answer...... OK! So, on Monday I will be cancelling and transferring my account to CPB, who I spoke with today. and guess what, they aren't charging me for the transfer! read more

Customer service is terrible. The tellers are okay but the personal banking staff are rude and make mistakes. I had to go there twice in a few weeks. The first time to open an account. I had an appointment, but she had a family or friend waiting, so she took care of them before assisting me. I had to wait 20 minutes for my appointment. Then, she entered the wrong address when creating my account. My next visit was to get notary. They don't offer free notary for members with accounts. This would be good information to know when making the appointment that I had to wait weeks to get. On the website it lists that fees "may" apply. When I inquired, the staff was rude about it. By far the worst branch and the worst bank. The other Kaneohe branch is only a star better. If you need banking services in Kaneohe, go with Central Pacific of Bank of Hawaiʻi. read more

We have been going to this branch for almost 20 years. It's a smaller branch ( there is a bigger one a few miles up the road) but this one is so convenient. It tends to be a little busy bxecause it's a smaller branch, but they always staff enough tellers. If I see a line, I just go to Long's or Tmobile and then come back. I must say, the customer service has always been impeccable. Judy has been the Manager since we have been going, and she is always so nice, accommodating and knows us by name. Marisa the teller is always nice too. I've gone to the other branch, and it seems colder, and they're not as nice. We will continue to take our business here! That's My Bank: I've been a First Hawaiian Bank customer for many many years and the Makiki Branch is listed as my bank since the early 90's. But I've been coming to this branch for 20 years. Venue: Sort of a hole in the wall location. There is a larger more complete branch about a mile away but this one is more convenient for us. Service:Friendly and helpful tellers. Professional and business-like loan services. Technology: fast accurate money transfers. Nowadays most banking is done electronically. On the extremely rare occasion where there was a question it has been handled quickly. Needs improvement: My only minor issue is this. First Hawaiian does not offer the newest innovative banking features first. Such as smartphone money transfers. Their bill payment features are complete but was instituted only recently. Boy, it's hard to make an interesting review of a bank! LoL! But that is it! read more

This is our closest location and although it's one of the smaller branches Judy the Mananger and the staff are always so nice and helpful. They are quick and even when it's a busy day with a long line, they have enough tellers that it goes by quickly. I like their friendly and family atmosphere and they always call us by our name. This is the only FHB in the Kaneohe area that is opened on weekends. The lines do get pretty long as everyone in the area is trying to deposit their money. So I recommend going in earlier. The tellers were kind, not the happiest and most cheerful, but nice. read more

Never bank here. I went to the Kaneohe branch to open a savings account. The customer service rep asked me for my employment information. I asked why. She did not know, but offered to have her manager explain it to me. Her manager came over and started babbling something about protecting me from identity theft. I asked him how that helps. If I told them nothing, they'd be no better equipped to "protect" me from identity theft than if they had my employment information. He clearly did not know and was making things up. I asked him to inquire further. He called HQ and came back. He looked me in the eye and said, First Hawaiian Bank does have a reason for asking for employment information, but its an internal policy and they do not share that with customers. I was aghast. They want my personal information but won't tell me why? He was clearly lying, as were the people in HQ. He then started to threaten me--he said if I didn't like providing my employment information, then I should leave and not open an account with First Hawaiian Bank. Really? That I should entrust my hard earned money and banking needs with a bank whose employees lie and threaten? No. read more

My Husban and I have been banking with FHB for years. I walked up to make a deposit at 4:56 on my IPhone and she literally locked the door as I reached for the handle. Gotta go home that badly. This is the worst branch. I have had such a terrible experience this past weekend I am debating whether to close my account and take my money elsewhere. The only thing keeping me from doing so is the AMAZING customer service I received and continue to receive from the Pearlridge and Kahala branches. The people at this branch (Kaneohe Bay) seem to operate individually. Depending on which person helps you, you are left to wonder what response you will get toady. This past weekend I could not deposit my paychecks, or pay for my loan because my last name recently changed. So the last name on my check do not match my loan or account name. Ok here's the deal, the other branches STILL let me deposit my own money into my own account AND pay my loan. This branch has decided to basically refuse my money and hold my account hostage. Ummm .... hello people have bills that automatically get paid so I need to be able to deposit my money. This branch is ridiculous. My advise, if you have a name change and you know that it can take awhile to get paperwork sent to you to verify your name change, put your money in another bank. I had the worst experience there today and have been banking there for years. I went in looking to get some documents notarized. First, there is no information on the website as to how to go about getting something notarized, secondly, when trying to call their branch number and the general customer service number, there was no option to speak with a live person. With that being said, I went in during my lunch hour to get help or to see how to go about getting the documents notarized. The guy that helped me was so rude as if I was wasting his time, when all he was doing was standing around talking story. He made it a point to say that it was by appointment only and that I should have called in but he took me anyways. Then when he sat down to help me, I had asked if I could get it notarized seeing that the papers were for my other half and he was at work. Again, the guy had such an attitude in response to my question. Apparently I didn't know I couldn't get it done for him that is why I was asking my question, no need for the irritated attitude. Finally, I asked for the number to contact so that I would be able to schedule an appointment, again with attitude, he told me the general customer service number and talk to someone to make an appointment. I called the number there in front of him to show him that the prerecorded calling service didn't have an option to speak to a live person. Then his attitude changed as he was humbled by his unknowing. Just terrible! read more

Banking hours are terrible if you work 10-12 hour weekdays. Seem to be the unlucky one who always gets the teller window close. Also, apparently you cant future order foreign currency even though your account is good for it. You cant order foreign currency on weekends either and when I went back on a weekday there was no yen in stock? Come on now, there's foreign currency everywhere especially in multi cultural hawaii. You cant tell your customers you have no money... And it would save people the inconvenience to deduct funds from their account and transfer the requested foreign currency to the nearest location when they have some in stock. Guess I'll have to bank elsewhere. smh. read more
