Another reason why I believe I made the right decision by switching banks last year to Central Pacific Bank (CPB). Recently I was gathering my tax documents ready for my CPA but could not locate my 1099-INT from CPB. I was able to obtain a digital copy via their chat message on their mobile app but noticed the document's font was on the small side. I forwarded the digital copy to my CPA and was concerned about possibly misreading the 1099-INT so I decided to stop by CPB's Kaneohe branch. Located on the far end corner of Kaneohe Bay Shopping Center that's near Donut King and across the street from Leonard's Malasada Mobile at the corner of Windward Mall, this branch is one of CPB's 27 locations statewide. They are conveniently located in Kaneohe with ample parking and also operates 6 days a week. Plus, they are near my part time job. I walked up to the teller on a State holiday afternoon with no line and requested for a duplicate 1099-INT but it was tricky as I had changed account registration after opening my account in September 2025. The teller had to reach out to another employee for assistance. It was perhaps a matter of less than 10mins for the teller to obtain a more visible 1099-INT. I then hand delivered this to my CPA's office a few days later as the receptionist at the CPA's appreciated a more legible copy. Mission accomplished. Called the call center for CPB to connect w a loan officer in any of their 7 branches. on Oahu. Put on hold for an extended amt of time to no avail. Not 1 loan officer answered their phone! This is the 2nd day of trying to get information re my loan. Even left a message w call back number, waited all day for 2 separate days. No call back. Even tried calling back at a time I thought wouldn't be busy only to be notified that the branches have closed! Representatives and supervisor were unsuccessful in connecting w a branch. Word of advice, get a loan anywhere else but CPB! I wasn't able to rate them w a minus 0! read more

I've been coming to this bank for over a year now I met some great and wonderful people but I've also met a very disgruntled and sarcastic young manager. Long story short I went in and I wanted to deposit $1275. I went up to the counter the teller 2nd to the right usually occupied by a Japanese lady who usually takes my deposits but this time was a guy. She was there but she was mostly occupied most of the space in that teller slot. I kindly had asked if he was in training and she told me no he was the manager. Upon hearing that he rolled his eyes and gave me a scuffed look. The lady left and told me that he would take over so I told him I wanted to deposit that exact amount and gave him $1300 so therefore I should've gotten $25 back. Rather than counting the change himself before putting it into the machine for it to count he purposefully played the idk card and sarcastically told me "oh you gave me 1300" which made me second-guess myself so I went back into my car counted again assuming that I had the right amount which I will get the back change. But he still insisted that it was the wrong amount. Excuse me sir you're the manager you should've been able to count and know that I would get $25 back?. And the look that he had on his face when I confronted him about his hypocrisy was extremely sarcastic very rude very degrading as if he enjoyed getting that rise out of me. Like dude I understand you thought I was being rude when I asked if you were in training but honestly I thought you were in training and no offence but you took it upon yourself because of your insecurities to take it out on me And stumped me out like that which I don't appreciate as a customer. In all honesty before you pulled that, I thought you were doing a great job and I was going to tell you that you were doing a good job had you been in training. I work in the customer industry to, and not too long ago I was in training. If there's a customer I feel is rude purposefully, I still treat them with the same kindness I want to be treated because I don't like being judged so I don't judge unless somebody is rude to me first hand in knowing the full circumstances of the situation! Not only that too but it's my ethical obligation to do my job. Get educated! He should not be a manager ! On the secondhand Japanese lady that usually helps me out great customer service wonderful love her! Quick and effective customer service will be coming back. Always smiling and greeting everybody as her equal never sarcastic always having a positive attitude just as all workers should have no matter what job you have. She should be promoted to manager. Digital banking in Hawaii... I've seen many advertisements for the Shaka account, so, I went to my neighborhood Central Pacific Bank to ask about it. The bank teller referred me to a customer service representative at one of the desks. She stood up and gave me a quick summary about the benefits of digital banking. Everything is done online... Even the application for an account. I told her that I would just sit in the waiting area until I figured it out. Haha... It took a while, but I stumbled through. I can say that now... In all the years the bank with the best service is Cpb...shorter lines and great service. Compared to FHB or Boh. They don't always say Yes but the do give you an answer quickly. read more

Visited the branch to make my normal deposit. Not a problem. After my deposit, I asked to have a document notarized. I have not had any problems walking in to notarize a document in the past. They used to have multiple notaries. The past couple of times I've requested a notary, I was told they only have one notary and that they were out on vacation or busy for the day. It amazes me though, that they only have one notary. As an exceptional account holder, notary service is a big reason I hold my account there. At other branches I have had the manager or assistant even notarize for me. Kaneohe is most convenient as I live in the area. Anyway I took it to my other bank where they have multiple staff as notaries to assist. I'll be considering closing my account since the notary service is almost non existent at this location. read more

I had bad experiences with the two largest banks in the Islands and simply wanted a place to have a savings account. I got to the Kaneohe branch about 20 minutes to closing, but they still were able to help me set up a new account. The bank manager herself helped me and everything was set up right, right there and then. She even walked me through their online banking to confirm that it works. Went above and beyond trying to fix the situation that turned out to not be your fault in the end. I should've waited for the other shoe to drop before I left a review. Wells Fargo was supposed to send money to my account at CPB last month. It never arrived, I blamed CPB because they seemed to not know what was going on. Whilst Wells Fargo assured all was good on their end. Well, the other shoe dropped this week and Wells Fargo lost/misplaced ANOTHER check that has nothing to do with CPB but just wanted to let everyone know this matter has been resolved, as Wells Fargo's bad behavior has shed light on a previous dim situation. Know that I will continue to do business with you guys and appreciate your hard work trying to fix this when it wasn't even your fault. read more

Great customer service, very local with a great diversity of functions for a small bank. I've got foreign exchange here and they do a great service, although with more unusual currencies you might have to wait a day or two, but that's to be expected for a small bank. A wonderful teller also told me about getting an exceptional checking account, which meant I didn't need to pay the $12 fee for a bankers check or ATM fees amongst other perks. I initially looked at the bank of Hawaii but chose this bank as their fees were lower. read more

Tried to obtain a HELOC from Central Pacific because they were offering a great rate. They offered an outrageously meager loan amount in spite of the property being fully paid and appraised for over $460K. They offered an amount similar to a mortgage loan. Obviously they have no concept of a HOME EQUITY loan. I asked for the loan application to be withdrawn and instead they said they would show that they denied me the loan instead. I received a HELOC from my credit union for more than twice the amount Central Pacific offered. read more
