The church was already decorated so beautifully so we didn't add much. We hung bows from the pews and that's about it! We had toured the church in broad daylight, so we were wondering how it would look in our low-light New Years Eve Evening light. But there was no reason to worry! The church is beautiful in all lights! We took advantage of many locations in the church. It has a huge room for the ladies to get ready - very picturesque. It has huge windows with great lighting for the makeup artist and photographer. The guys had a great time in their separate room too! We used the stairway for some stunning portraits. We used the courtyard for some outdoor shots. The chapel itself was jaw-dropping. The foyer was excellent for our welcome sign and programs. And there was a little room off to the side for the bride and father to "hide" in right before the walk down the aisle. Our photographer and videographer also used the upstairs room to get great wide-shots from above. And my husband and I headed up there for some amazing shots as well after the ceremony. The church staff helped to create the dramatic moment when I walked down the aisle. After my bridesmaids went down, they closed the doors and dramatically opened the doors to reveal me to my husband. The look on his face was priceless when he saw me for the first time. I will never forget that moment. We had so many people tell us what a beautiful place it was. It really set the mood for the entire wedding. I couldn't have imagined it any better!

I think overall the Pastor is great! The only thing I think with a pastor of any church, the opinions coming from the pastor should never be shared with the congregation because they might take your opinion as what is and should be instead of its just an opinion. I also think, we should be learning from the actual Hebrew and Greek version of the bible. King James has been changed so much from the original. Also many books have been removed by man and should never have been. These are all books of our Bible and lets us know what happened in those days and opens our eyes. Yahuah is who we pray to and speak his name.

While we embrace the vertical worship leadership/music of this church; however, it does include…read moresome ancient liturgical, Catholic/traditional components which feel at times insincere and lukewarm for us. The weekly repetitive mantra of the Doxology, the Apostles Creed, the Lord's Prayer, the paricopes, etc. are generally included. They seemingly practice the "real presence" of God in holy communion, yet do not have any of the other "sacraments" [ie infant baptism] that we have seen. The gilded iconostasis portrayals on the walls of the sanctuary reflect the holiness of the mother of Jesus [with a halo]. It does feel Katholische at its roots. There is no statuary that we have seen from the online broadcasts. The messages are refreshingly progressive and cast new thought and light in BZ's delivery. He stops shy of confessing a political affiliation, yet his vibe and tone throwback to the liberal 1970's hippie Jesus Freak revolutionary style.

The sermon was good and I liked the pastor (he likes Pink Floyd and was wearing jeans and what looked like Converse). I like the way they do the Communion, you walk up to the front, take a piece of (gluten-free) bread and dip it into the grape juice and return to your seat. The music is uplifting and upbeat. And they have a good variety of coffee.

Can I really write a review for this? This is my father's family's church. Apparently when my…read morefather was young, in the 50s and 60s, I think even though the 70s, it was pretty hoppin'. There used to be a large Ukrainian population in St. Joe, and they had all sorts of dances and dinners back in the day. My dad was part of the youth group. It's a big part of my family. We've had parties here, my parents got married here, my grandparents' funerals were here...There's a lot of K Family history in the walls. Sadly, now most of the kids and grandkids (myself included here) don't speak more than a word or two of Ukrainian, and I'm not even sure how often they have services anymore. I know for sure that there's not a priest dedicated solely to this parish anymore; I believe he comes down from Nebraska for special occasions to give mass in Ukrainian. It's a tiny, tiny church with a tiny, dark basement for dinners. The beautiful decorations upstairs are in the blue and gold that seem to be typical for Ukrainian churches (and I'm so bad I don't even know why!). Anyway, I just have to say 5 stars for the history...And who knows how much longer this lovely little church will survive?

They choose horrible ancient songs that most generations can't follow along with, so you find yourself like everyone else, just " playing church ". Looking at the hymn with no good melody or rhythm and just waiting for the piece to be done. The old prunes who pick out the songs barely sing it themselves. They're only picking it out based on "tradition" to do so. It hasn't been worship for a long time there. It's been RELIGION. Zombied-out Religion. No active spirit in that church, unless you consider the wine during communion such. I can't honestly give this church anything more than 1 Star. Their people are fake, they're afraid to make healthy changes since the old folks that will be dead in a couple years anyways dig their heals in and prevent any healthy change to create a more lively, TRUE church experience. I don't do religion. I do Jesus. I follow him. This church is more focused on ancestral traditions than they are real worship. Too much like the Non-Christian Catholic Church. All Religion. This church is horrible.

There is also wonderful children's activities for all ages. They have Bible studies for different weeks if you want to go that way. There is also a Bible study lead by the pastor. All in all, a well rounded church.
