I don't typically write these reviews, but I definitely want to jump on here and say Dale Rimmer…read morewas beyond amazing. I got his name and number from my vet actually so I had to cancel the appointment because water was pouring out of my ceiling which I thought was a roofing issue from my porch. It turned out that it was a heating pipe that split. My daughter told me that the floor upstairs was soaked. I ran upstairs I pulled up the carpet and it was scolding to the touch. There was a lot of steam coming off the floor. I ended up calling the fire company going way over the extreme, but by that point I had already called Dale Rimmer. He ended up getting here as fire company was leaving ( which was 20 minutes ) He did explain on the phone that it was probably just steam coming off the floor. He remained with me at the house until I had somebody able to come out and fix the pipe( the fire company turned off my boiler as it was pouring water into my house). I'm also leaving a review for my Fire company. I've never needed them in all my years living here, but they were downright amazing and the same thing with the police downright amazing. I cannot be thankful enough for my community and the fact that Dale was the voice a reason and calmness in my crazy day.!!!

We hired Dale Rimmer Siding to replace the old wood siding on our home. We also wanted to improve…read morethe appearance with stone facing and enlarging the front porch. Several siding contractors we called said they only did siding. Dale said he had contractors that he has worked with for years that could do the stone work and build the new porch. Dale was involved during the entire process and the stone mason and carpenter he brought in were great. The porch and stone work turned out better than we expected. We also had a new flagstone walkway installed and our deck refurbished. The new siding, gutters and downspouts completed the makeover of our home's exterior. Dale was personally involved and was quick to answer and questions or concerns we had. All of the people took pride in their work and the results show it.

Having to hire a slate roofer in the Allentown area (rather than relying on our old one in another…read morearea) turned out to be a re-education about the difficulty of finding a reputable and responsive roofer. In all, I made five phone calls to try to line up estimates on having slates replaced. Two never bothered to return the call. One called back 3-4 days later. Another called back 2 days later. (That guy, the Coplay, not Bensalem Romano, said he "doesn't do" estimates on slate replacements.) Just one called back that very day, and boy, did we luck out - J & M Roofing. We already knew the rough going price of slate replacement and J & M was right in the pocket. The boss, Greg, was a charming and down to earth guy and his son (he has two in the business with him) made a point of stopping by swiftly and taking pictures that were emailed to us to show exactly what needed replacing. Greg has been in the business a long time and knows how to ration his time. Quicker jobs like ours get reserved for days of iffy weather and weekends, and indeed, the following weekend he and one son and one helper showed up and got the job done in short order. The job was done just recently so I can't tell you about durability. I can tell you that we were happy with the speed of response, and that all the workers were personable and cleaned up afterwards decently. Throughout the process, Greg was a good and consistent communicator too. If you're looking for an experienced roofer - and one who knows slate - definitely include J & M Roofing in your considerations.

Had them re-do a leaky roof entirely about 1.5 years ago. Greg came out and walked me through the…read moreproject, listened to my concerns, and built my quotes accordingly. He didn't overcomplicate the project or load me up with roofing jargon like other contractors did. Their quote came in customized to our project and was built to have no large "extra material " surprises when the project closed. They were always communicative and friendly about the project. When they encountered a situation that was abnormal, they walked me through the issue and offered resolutions that would've cost them money. They seem to be stand-up craftsmen who want to do a good job at all costs and don't treat their customers like just another number. If you are going to invite anyone to do work on their home especially on your roof, they are the type to get.

I called this company at 9 am on Tuesday October 30th after Hurricane Sandy. He was very…read morecooperative. Our roof was leaking and needed to be replaced due to storm damage. Tim said "No problem - I'll tell my guys to get more tarps and we will be up today to tarp your roof". I'll call you later with a status. We started to worry around 2:30 and called to see if we could get an updated status, but only got voicemail. We tried to forced ourself to be patient, but when it started to get late about 3:30 pm we started to call all the office numbers. Then it was dark. No one was available and we left many many messages. Figuring that perhaps his phones were down due to the storm - I sent an e-mail to him from his website. We could receive calls / voicemails on our cell phones - so we couldn't figure out why we did not receive any call that he would not make it that day. I guess our question is answered! He isn't doing the job as it is now Friday November 2nd and the man NEVER called us to tell us that he could not make it. Never go with a company who is so unprofessional to tell a customer that he'll be there and doesn't show up. Especially when things are so bad due to an emergency. I would accept that some other priority kept him, but to never call us back or respond to any voicemail? Really? Tim - I've read other reviews on other sites and I've noticed that you blame all negative reviews on competitors. I'm not a competitor. I WAS your customer. Shame on you.
