So we decided to fly down to Belize as the waters & tropical scenery are just as beautiful, plus we could get there in 3 hours & we LOVE South America. So we flew down to San Pedro Island, stayed a full month exploring there & towards the end of the month, our family started to trickle in & we got married on the beach at sunset, at Victoria House on San Pedro Island. It was gorgeous. We had so much fun, it was like a fairytale wedding we will never forget. We were living in Dallas, Texas at that time & had a small get together there but it wasn't in a church. On our wedding day, we made a promise to each other that after 20 years we would re-new our marriage vows in a Church, in America. So ever since we got married we have been traveling all over the US to find the perfect little white Church by the sea to re-new our vows for our Anniversary. We narrowed it down to 3. We love the fabulous tiny little white church on the hill in Port Arkansas, Texas. The tiny little historic white Church on Cumberland island, Georgia And of course, gorgeous, stunningly beautiful, Christ Church, right here in my home town of Pensacola, Florida Well it turns out that God works in mysterious ways & made the choice for us! When the pandemic hit, our jobs went remote & we could move anywhere we wanted. I immediately started looking for a house in Pensacola so I could be near my family. We bid on a house, moved in 30 days & here we are, at the door step of Christ Church. Miracles do happen. Hubby & I stop by, pray & count our blessings often. So, spoiler alert: We are getting Married! Again! Right here at the most beautiful little white church in America! In my home town, my parents hometown, at Christ Church just as it should be, as God has led us on our path back here, back home, to my tiny little white church by the sea. The cost for Old Christ Church is as follows: Monday-Thursday is $400 plus tax; Friday-Sunday is $600 plus tax. My husband and I had our wedding here in April 2011 and it was absolutely gorgeous. The church is so beautiful that we felt no need to decorate it with flowers. Because the church is a historical landmark the rules are pretty strict about what you bring into the church so check out them out before placing your deposit. The bride and bridesmaids get the cottage next to the church to get ready and I would highly recommend utilizing the cottage because we got some beautiful shots from our photographer.

It seems that the majority of the people there are students from the PCC college and that they really don't want to be there. Everyone wears a suit and tie, there is always at least one special music, and the whole thing is recorded. It felt like attending a performance; not like church at all. Also, they insist on using the KJV despite the hard to understand language and preach that modern translations are evil. That was the last straw for me. So sad because it could have been so good, but my family and I will be looking for a true church to be a part of, not a well-polished and tradition-stuck performance to attend.

I was dismayed that a pastor of such a large church was so incompetent and cold in dealing with hurting people. He never offered to pray with me, nor did he show any empathy or sympathy. Sadly, he couldn't have cared less about me as an individual human being. I confided in him that my wife divorced me in 2006, but the Campus Church pastor couldn't have cared less, even scolding me for saying that I hoped to find a wife. I do not recommend this church to anyone because there is no genuine love or compassion for individual people. To add insult to injury, I was so hurt that I criticized the church on social media. I felt bad months later and contacted the pastors of Campus Church, apologizing and asking if I could please come back to church, but they cold-heartedly refused. This is how a cult operates, not a genuine New Testament church. There is no forgiveness or second chances at Campus Church. Furthermore, they do not preach a free grace Gospel at Campus Church. They teach a wrong understanding of what it means to repent (see pages 60-62 of their booklet titled: "John & Romans" for proof). Campus Church errantly teaches that you are not really saved unless you've turned away from your sinful bad habits; and that you must submit to follow and obey Christ to get to Heaven, which is works and not grace. When I attended the church, their senior pastor announced on a Sunday to everyone about a class to learn how to more effectively share the Gospel with lost sinners, but he said it will cost you $10. I was sickened that a church which took in well over a million dollars in 2020-2021 was charging members to learn how to share the Gospel. Please avoid this place at all cost! Campus Church is really a chapel for their students at PCC, and not an authentic church in the normal sense of the word. You will be disappointed, as I still am. I regret ever stepping foot in their door. Thank you for reading.
