Fish Creek Naturopathic Medicine is a holistic family medicine clinic dedicated to providing the highest level of science-based natural medicine to Calgary families. We have a special focus on digestive issues including IBS, bloating, gas, diarrhea, constipation and food allergies.
Other related conditions include asthma, eczema, fatigue, acne and menstrual irregularities. We offer hormone testing, allergy testing, heavy metal testing and environmental pollutant testing using reliable reference laboratories.
In addition to naturopathic consultations, we offer a variety of supplements at great value and also colon hydrotherapy treatments.
History
Established in 2005.
Dr. Joe Klassen, ND started the clinic in 2005 with his wife Carole in this same location. Dr. Klassen completed his Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine after a career in marketing and finance with multinational companies. In making this change, he brings a realistic perspective to the impact of modern busy life on one's health and physiology. Carole who has a background in nutrition and yoga, is the office manager.
They have several associates including Dr. David Manning, ND, and Olena Lob and Cheryl Lysyk as colon hydrotherapists.
Meet the Business Owner: Joe K.
Dr. Klassen is a graduate of the Bastyr University of Naturopathic Medicine in Seattle, WA., the leading educator of science-based natural medicine. This four-year doctoral program includes dissection anatomy, physiology, pathology and basic sciences common to all medical education, with the added benefit of learning botanical medicine, physical medicine, hydrotherapy, homeopathy, counselling and nutrition as treatment options. He completed his science prerequisites at Mount Royal College in Calgary, AB.
Dr. Klassen has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Saskatchewan. After a starting a career in the stressful world of Fortune 500 companies, he decided to make a radical change and enter the field of natural and alternative medicine. This experience gives him a real-world perspective on health challenges in our community, and a realistic point of view when relating to patients.
