I was very nervous at first leaving my dog with new people because I was not sure how she would react, I expressed all my concerns to Josh before bringing her in and he gave me a tour of the facility and explained how he would go about handling and taking time getting to know my dog. The first time I dropped her off she tried to follow me right out the door and she was very uneasy, but now when I drop her off she doesn't even look back. It makes me feel good to drop her off there knowing she loves going and that she likes Josh so much. She doesn't like many people, especially men, so he must be doing something right.

Whenever I bring my dog Sofia in for a short weekend stay or a long 1-2 weeks stay, she always comes back happy & healthy. Willow Run has a daily walk & play schedule for all dogs (and cats) that stay with them, so the animals aren't kenneled for extensive periods of time. Also, the owner, Shawn has two young girls of her own, so the guests are always active! I appreciate the convenience of Tail Trends being onsite as well. The two businesses share the same building. My dog can stay for the week at Willow Lodge when I'm out of town & come back home groomed, looking like her mischievous self again! The price is reasonable. I pay $16 a day for my smaller dog. It may be a little more for bigger dogs, but I'm not sure. I took a tour and asked a lot of questions before my dog stayed there initially & they were very open to that. Both cats do not like to be without the other so when it came time to be looked at, neither came out. Instead of letting my husband coax the cat out, the vet picked up the carrier and dumped my pets on the table like trash. He did not allow my pets to get used to their environment. He immediately stuck instruments in their eyes and ears which scared them, and rather than showing them it was okay he immediately pinned them to the table. Both cats are visibly sore the next day. When I go to the vet I expect the vet to treat them with care and empathy, just as I would expect a pediatrician to be gentle with my child, or a doctor to be empathetic with me.

For a 50 pound dog, that's very significant. The owner never said anything about her not eating so I can only assume she was neglected. When I went to pick her up it was around 10 AM and I asked the owner if she had been fed and he said no. Why have the dogs not been fed by 10 AM? Something clearly isn't right. So I take her home and she's scared of my husband which has never happened. Then I notice her nails have been clipped far past her quicks which has made her nails bleed every time we let her outside. We didn't even ask for her nails to be clipped! Her feet are swollen (I can only assume 1 of 2 things, she was sitting in her own urine or the kennel was not kept warm) and she is clearly in pain and can hardly stand walking outside. I am absolutely furious that someone could treat a dog this way. I called the local vet I use and they said they never recommend this kennel. Wish I would have asked prior. I called local animal control and they said since it's in the "county" that it's out of their jurisdiction. They referred me to call the sherifs office and that's exactly what I'll be doing Monday morning. Please do not subject your dog to this neglect! There are 2 other local kennels! We're new to the area and I'm kicking myself for not doing more research on this place.
