We smoked a cigarette and waited some more. We drained our slushies and then waited some more. Finally, our meals came out on a big sandwich tray. The 'Breakfast A' choice looked amazing in that old school home cooked way. There was a mountain of bacon on top of two slices of white bread, two eggs (cooked in frying rings), a sausage and half a roasted tomato. It was the breakfast of my childhood! My roast chicken and gravy sandwich was amazing. Both chicken and gravy layers were generous, and it was squished between two slices of wholemeal bread. It would have been better in a bun, but still, it was pretty good the way it was. The food is just as you'd expect it to be at a place like this. Fatty, salty and in some way, deeply satisfying. The service was prompt, but it took forever for our food to come out to us. I was also wrongly charged for my food (by $1 so I let them keep it). I had a mixed reaction to this place, but realistically, anywhere that still sells roast chicken gravy sandwiches gets my vote. Oh, steer clear of the Pineapple slushie. It certainly lived up to my memories, expectations and more. The seafood buffet steals the show every Friday and Saturday night.
