At $40 for 2 people, this was really great value - good quality freshly crumbed prawns, scallops, calamari, fish and beer battered chips with your choice of salad. It was plenty of food! We also had a dozen oysters which were fresh and succulent. We're generally not fans of fried food so we found this a bit heavy - we would have preferred to have our seafood grilled but sadly this is not an option for seafood platters.

But the food, heres why I dont understand the negative reviews, holyyy crap finally an Italian restaurant that doesnt "white people" the recipies and delivers what it should taste like in Italy. The pasta my cousin had that I tried also was spot on, the "Gianni's Favourite" pizza I had to try was Italian sized (its big) and the flavour was spot on, I had the olive fritte and the arrancini as well, the sauces were exactly what Id expect back home in Italy. The pear salad was a little salty but thats hardly something that cant be fixed, the rest of the flavours were there as well as the montepulciano wine I had was nice. Im curious if they restructured or fixed the past issues because what I experienced was nothing short of eating back home, you cant get that Italian nostalgia just through any old means. I for one am thoroughly impressed and Id eat there again if I didnt have to fly back to Adelaide soon... Its got the Giannino stamp of approval.

Simple raisin toast was unbuttered, causing the diner to butter their own luke-warm toast. No salty-buttery, cinnamon-raisin explosion of a tastebud party here. The slightly over-cooked poached eggs looked like they had been poured straight out of the pan, as they slid around the plate in a pool of water.
