The staff were friendly and welcoming and our server spent time with us to explain the small plates concept of the restaurant. The servings are designed to be shared and the servings are larger than traditional Tapas. 3 - 4 shared dishes were recommended for a party of 2. We went for 3 plus dessert. Our choices were Grilled Brussel Sprout Cesar, Braised Short Rib Stuffed Yorkshire Puddings, and Wild Blue Crab Cake. Dessert was Creme Brulee. All were well prepared, nicely plated, ample, and delicious. We were very, very satisfied. Compared with our dinner the night after we were happy with the overall price paid and the ambiance. The place was fairly full but yet didn't feel crowded and we were able to converse normally. We never felt rushed and the staff were attentive without being intrusive. Excellent fish, like one of the best fish and chips I've had and I've had a ton of that! Crisp on the fish was great, flakey inside without it falling apart. Fries were great as well but would like to see more fries on the plate. Shrimp was also really really good. I think it's hard to screw up grilled shrimp but their seasoning was cajun style and very good. Probably won't be in the area often but it's a great spot for some great fish and chips and clearly a neighbourhood classic.

T&J seafoods offers one flavour of candied salmon that's made weekly in small batches (it's not too popular out east I suppose). It's smoked and seasoned with peppercorn. There's barely a sweet flavour and there's a lot of peppery spiciness. The salmon is also much tougher and I even found some small bones in a few of the pieces. It is good value for $9/half lbs of candied salmon and it's nice that they vacuum seal it for you when you buy it. FINAL VERDICT: After tasting the maple syrup candied and smoked Sockeye candied salmon variations from Vancouver, BC's Granville Island market, T&J just doesn't match up in terms of freshness, quality, or flavour.

We ordered a pound of mussels with garlic sauce, crawfish with lemon pepper sauce, and a fish teriyaki dish with seafood assortment. I loved the garlic sauce, as it gave the mussels a great kick. I wouldn't recommend the crawfish, as they don't have much meat. I felt like I was just nibbling the shells for the sauce. However, the fish teriyaki was a solid choice. Overall, it was a filling and tasty meal, and it came out to less than $20 per person. With so few customers in the restaurant, service was relatively prompt, but I would recommend more frequent water refills, as the sauces were quite salty. We had to personally wave over the waitress in order to get water. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend Captain's Boil if you enjoy seafood like I do. Glad they opened up in London!
