Went here with a colleague. Took well over an hour to get food tonight. The excuse was a big table came in and they prioritized them over the rest of us. Someone who was either the owner or manager was waived down so we could kindly inform her our issue...she shrugged and said they were simply too busy with the big order. Everyone else in our section also waited but had drinks so I guess it wasn't that big a deal for them. Nobody made it right. As it was a Tuesday night and plenty of restaurants close by a certain time we were basically stuck and couldn't walk out. The shrimp cocktail consisted of 4 warm shrimp and virtually no condiment (nobody around to ask for some more). Once the food came it was ok but not great. Had one small pickerel filet for $29. Was not worth it with the carrot and two slices of pepper on the side with a small bowl of salad. Cannot recommend based on what I experienced this evening. read more

BOTTOM LINE: One of the nicer, non-chain restos in Timmins...this place also offers a wide selection of seafood choices. Timmins ain't a large town and finding healthy and non-chain options are hard to come by. I ate here twice when I visited recently! The restaurant is fairly large and the service was attentive. I ordered their CRAB CAKES, which were pretty tasty and largely portioned. Their lemon Cajun aioli dip was solid. The CLAM CHOWDER is hearty and definitely hits the spot on a cold day. Their main attraction is their FISH & CHIPS, which I had pan-fried. It was nicely spiced and again, largely portioned - you will get stuffed here by the portion sizes! Finally, I would recommend avoiding the PAN SEARED SCALLOPS - the scallops weren't fresh and the texture was pretty mushy. There are other fish, steak and pasta offerings, which I plan on trying the next time I'm back. read more

Looks are deceiving worst place ever ate at. My friend where up North for a week holiday and went there for dinner. Looked great but after we ordered it took 30-40 minutes to get it. Her fish was partly burnt black mine was little dry. When we finished waitress took plates said she would be right back with the bill. 20 minutes later still no bill even though she came in the room at least 4 times. We finally got up and went to front to pay first time ever I never left a tip we should have got a discount. In closing will never be back and will tell friends to avoid go there as they will not get good food or service! read more

Ordered 2 full meals and appetizers without desert for take out. Appetizer consisted of escargot which was served in a paper bowl with cheese. It had no butter or garlic. Was a hard rubbery mess. Main meal was fish (so full of bones it was tough to eat), fried shrimp (3), fried scallop (3), 2 slices of very crusty bread. Everything in the main meal was over cooked to the point it was very rubbery. Side orders of lobster tail which was good and mussels in a tomato sauce which was also good. The price of these 2 meals was $170. When picking this order up, I think I was expected to give them a tip too. Stay away from this restaurant. I would hate for you to have an experience like we had. Simply put, the Fish and Chips that I had here, were the best I have had since traveling to Canada on business regularly for the last three years. My waitress, Carol was extremely friendly and attentive. Looking forward to being back in Timmins next month and my next visit to the Fishbowl restaurant. read more

Another mediocre Timmins dining experience. Touted as one of the better restaurants in town, it fell flat. The location is great, with bright and cozy nautical themed decor inside. The server was friendly and attentive. The crab cakes were a solid 7/10. Crisp outside, soft and meaty inside, not too much bread crumbs. The spicy aoli was a perfect pairing. My main, fish and chips with a side salad, was a downer. The fish was good, solid, cooked just enough to be flaky, not overcooked. The breading though was awful. If was more like a greasy tempura than a fish and chip batter. And the salad was some pitiful lettuce leaves, with roughly chopped bits of assorted vegetables thrown on. Not good. Overall a good start to the meal, which then disappointed. As well, the menu was slightly overpriced. Why only a 2/5? It was an OK meal in a nice ambiance, with a good server. but only 2/5 because, "Meh, I've had better" fits my experience better than 3/5, which is "A-OK". I guess I might give it a 2.5, if it existed. read more

Long wait time for average food. The deep fried fish was good but the chips (fries) were a bit soggy. On the flip side, the burger was pretty dry and almost more of a meatloaf. I might try it again, but some of the locals say it's on it's way downhill. I hate to leave a review less than three stars, but this experience was truly less than 3 stars. read more

A seafood restaurant in Timmins? Wha??? Everything on the menu travelled a long way with the exception of the pickerel, but they managed to keep it tasting fresh, believe it or not. The grilled scallop dish satisfies everytime and they don't cheap out on the size or number of scallops you get, so that was a refreshing change from the typical seafood restaurant mentality. And the size of the fish and chips were ridiculous! The fish was literally hanging off of my plate! I think they have an AYCE night for the fish and chips, but one piece was more than enough for me! read more

The food was unbelievable ! Prices were not overly high and the service was average. I had the maple walnut salmon and it was hands down the best salmon I've ever had. The portion was great , I was just satisfied. And the deserts looked amazing although I had to skip. read more

Dirty and unkept compared to how it was in the past. Food was undercooked/raw. Staff was not courteous at tables. Tried numerous times over the course of a year and the final meal caused myself and guest to be victims of food poisoning. I wish I kept the pictures of our burger so you could see. Great restaurant that serves more than just seafood. The food I had was delicious, well presented and the service was excellent. I really enjoyed the lobster dip and spinach salad. Nothing special here. I know great food and let me tell you, the seafood is not fresh and is low quality. The food is blah and overcooked. I've given these guys a second and third chance thinking I'd change my mind about this place, but... Nothing home-made, everything (sauces, salad dressings, etc) is store bought. The service was not so great. At one point the waitress was arguing with one of my friends about her drink. The only thing good about this restaurant is the desserts (made locally by Vicky D'Amour). Overall very good experience. There are not a lot of restaurants to choose from in Timmins but I'd say this one is the best. Definitely not fine dining or on par with what one would find in more metropolitan areas but next time I'm in Timmins I would have dinner here gain. I had the ribs and lobster tail combo and I'd definitely say that for 29.99 it was great. The ribs were tender and meaty and the lobster tail was bigger than expected. My partner had a steak and it was perfectly done. The server was very friendly and attentive and did a fine job. Need to update your lunch menu. I ordered hot chicken on stuffing, waitress never told me it's no longer on menu, she brought me pieces of chicken on top of two slices of bread with gravy. I sent it back. it took one hour for our food, not really that busy, plus I sent food back and had to wait for my chicken ceaser salad wrap, ate lunch at 2:00 pm. My mom ordered a baked potato and it was even cooked, little piece of pan fried fish yet my husband had two big pieces. Not impressed will not be going there again. read more
