I was a customer of Fishead and would like to share my story with the public so that they avoid being taken to the cleaners as I have. First, I am a physician and do not just make unwarranted complaints of this magnitude without just cause. I understand that there are poor outcomes and not everything goes according to plan. However, I also understand that when you make a mistake, you own up to it and exact the type of compensation necessary to make things right. This was not done. While in medical school, I began an organization and invested a whopping $8,000.00 in having T shirts made to raise money for our club. As it turned out, the shirts were printed so horribly that they were not able to be sold. As the pictures on my website will show (link at bottom), the proofs which were sent to me and I agreed on was not anywhere near what was sent to me. In addition to the prints being completely off center and in the wrong place, there was an error in color which made one of the words not visible from more than a few feet away, and in daylight, not at all. I attempted to work this out with them and stated that I did not want to go to court over this. They agreed, and they made me an offer which will be submitted as a screen shot to the authenticity of my claims. In short, they wanted to compensate me for free printing on some shirts while I had to pay for the shirts themselves. First, this was nowhere near the number of shirts that were incorrectly printed. Second, why would I spend more money for shirts that were incorrectly printed? I would be out even more money and have less shirts than that were actually able to be sold than initially invested into. Being that I was in medical school and extremely busy, and given the incredulous nature of their attempt to make it right, I knew that they were not going to refund my money, and I also was too busy to pursue anything in a legal matter. Furthermore, I didn't have the resources to even if I wanted to. However, now that I am a practicing doctor, I have the resources to pursue this, and I am. Their statement to all of this is that since it is near 3 years ago, that I should not be able to complain. As mentioned, the reasons for this is very simple. In addition, I was the one who was wronged, not them. Someone doesn't get off of committing murder simply because he or she was caught 10 years later. This type of thinking is absurd. They did wrong and need to be accountable. I would stay away from this company as they are unethical. While they may be cheaper in cost, there is a reason for this. I can say with certainty that the shirts that I have worn have cracks in the pain and do not hold their value. But most importantly, if you have a mistake, I can guarantee that they will not refund your money but instead will ask that you spend more money on more shirts and prints. If you choose to go with them, at least you have been forewarned. PS. If you buy that the 5 star review by Buck is authentic, then I suggest you use a little more analytical thinking. This person has done business with them for 8 whole years, but THINKS that they speak with Heidi? They have a handful of people and she's the one who deal with the orders. How can he not speak to Heidi? Smart companies find friends or pay people to leave good reviews, especially if they have bad reviews to begin with. Remember, it's all about business. Good luck. Our company has spent 10s of thousand$ with fishead. The reason is because we have never found a better quality product in Portland,and the price is really cheap. Fishead stepped up immediately and introduced me to their design department. They listened to the concept of my new business, the vision and the mission, and within three days I had the first prototype images in my e-mail box with numerous suggestions on blending the ideas, how limiting colors kept costs down in printing going forward, and the financial and design benefits of half-tones and other color concepts. Great group to work with. They have completed dozens of jobs for us over the last couple of years for screen printing and embroidery on everything from T-shirts to Carhartt jackets, and even fishing tackle boxes and high end backpacks. Their quality and service is among the best (I've used dozens of vendors over the years) in the industry and I've never had a complaint. If something wasn't right, they made it right. Even on small "pain in the butt" orders, they were very helpful and never made me feel like my order didn't matter to them. It's hard for me to believe the person that gave them one star was even writing about the same company that I've had the pleasure of working with. With as many orders as I've placed with them, I'd have to say that example was a fluke, or that person is simply being dishonest. No screenprinting company can survive and thrive (they've grown and expanded several times in the years I've used them) if their screen print washes off in one wash. Inks simply don't do that. We are a re-seller, so we buy from Fishead and sell the garments to our clients. Believe me, if the quality wasn't there, I would know it....and my clients would tell me about it. As it is, we have done many repeat orders for our customers as they were very pleased with the quality of decoration. I say give them a shot, you won't be disappointed. You will also find Fishead to have an A+ rating at the BBB website. If they were as bad as the other reviewer noted, you think someone else would have made a complaint in the last several years. They'll help you put together a design if you don't have one. They are friendly when corresponding with them (most times). Heidi helped me in sales then Rachael in Art department to get the process rolling. If this will be your first time printing shirts and you are looking at printing over several 10s or 100s there are a few things I will warn you about. First off the final product art design will NOT (repeat "will not" 10 times) ever look like that on shirts. If you are looking for quality that doesn't look faded at finished product upon delivery, or won't fade (disappear is more like it) after ONE wash these guys are not meant for your job! If you are looking for professional advice on whether or not the display of a 10" art size or 12" art size is better for 2XL (plus size) shirts or not--don't expect to get an honest answer. These people are just their to sell shirts with crappy colors and designs. To top it off their youth sizes are deceptive they are for your smaller teens. I ordered about 45 youth shirts and they did not fit more than half my group when it came down to the day of the event my wider teenagers had to miss and match shirts with those who had adult sizes--it was hell--this part made me look bad bad bad. Don't expect to get a clear or thorough description about sizes either. I corresponded for several months with these people before my event. I truly thought they were being true and honest in our correspondences. I was out $700 on crappy shirts (faded designs, sizes too small, and larger shirts too thin).
