Their front staff are very nice and helpful, the studio is nice, clean and always a good temperature. Their spin classes are not intimidating like others can be - if you can't get the beat you are encouraged to give it your all rather then discouraged because you can't. The circuit classes are amazing and go by so fast - always feel these classes a day or two after which is amazing! This is the first place I've done barre at and I enjoy the class structure and instructor. I think the monthly price and drop in are reasonable when compared to others. Plus you get variety rather than needing to go to several studios. Highly recommend!!

If a company promises something to its members, it should follow through. Instead, I was left feeling misled, nickel-and-dimed, and taken advantage of. There are plenty of other gyms in Calgary that value transparency and treat their members with respect. Based on my experience, GYMVMT North Hill Centre does neither.

I was warmly welcomed and immediately felt a part of the community. All staff, trainers and members have been amazing every time I go. The workouts are different every single day, so you never get bored and it never gets easier. Parking is also easy regardless of when you attend class. I didn't end up moving back to the area so called to cancel and then got a "sure but we will be charging you for a month!" Ummm what?? Not once was I told that I would have to give ANOTHER 30 days notice and be charged for it!! After going back in forth with the assistant manager several times over email trying to explain to them how it isn't fair that I am being charged an extra $200 after not having stepped foot in that gym in over a year. All I get back is "you either pay or we'll send you to collections!" I was definitely deceived into not canceling my membership that day that I went in with intent too. This gym has the worst customer service and will squeeze every cent out of you that they can. If your thinking of joining this place, think again. They'll find one way or another to rip you off.

Even with proof the manager denies it, gaslights me saying it's only $40.95. I told him I want to cancel my membership and he refuses. I phoned corp many times, emailed them and not one of them want to help. They don't even listen. They just brush you off. They keep saying talk to the manager, ask the manager to cancel. I have many times through email & management not only refuses to cancel he denies extra charges so what can one do. I already filed a complaint with BBB and called my bank. I have opened a investigation on the over charge. I'm getting nothing but the run around from both the Gym manager & anytime corp. Stealing from members is not a part of the agreement and think that would be a good reason to want to terminate my membership.

Monika, who has been my instructor for at least the past 3 levels, is great. She's practical, provides good feedback and is an intriguing person, which makes me appreciate her as a teacher. I attended the 4th Annual International Pole Camp this year, which is hosted by Pole Junkies. I'm not sure that I would spend the money on it again unless some improvements are made, but there's no doubt that I acquired some good info, met some cool and extremely talented women who traveled long distances and am really happy to have a manual that includes helpful information and reminders addressing safety and injury management. Those who know me are well aware that I've had to deal with injuries numerous times already. Based on what I've heard from students about their experiences with other schools, Pole Junkies stands out from the competitor in terms of progression of skills and ensuring proper body alignment with all techniques. I love my trainer Wendy... she's a machine! The equipment is great, and machines feel high end. Plus, from what I have seen so far, there is a minimal amount of douchy gym rats there! ;) Very nice change rooms and a couple of large showers. I guess the only down side is the size of the classroom, which limits the number of people who can take the classes. I see that as a good thing, because I prefer smaller classes, but it may get crowded.

I find the classes to be both challenging and fun-often a difficult mix to find. The instructors are knowledgeable and are great at successfully running classes with a range of fitness levels. They are careful to make sure they are aware of any health concerns and are able to offer suitable modifications to just about every exercise. They keep the workouts different enough that you dont get bored but there is enough routine you can feel where you've made improvements. I like that they create an environment that is more encouraging than competitive-I've been to other bootcamps where you are made to feel bad if your fitness level isn't yet what some of the others in the class are at. I recently decided to become a full fledged customer and I am impressed with how quickly they responded to my questions about schedule and price. I don't live overly close to where they hold classes but to me they are totally worth the drive. Oh and you'll see the results too! I think they offer some other classes to like Bridal bootcamp and mom & baby related classes.
