My experiences with Sam (club manager) were nothing but positive. he is very friendly , professional for all what he does, he always available to help even at time he was very busy . I have been trying with little success by contact other FF branches ( park st and parramatta ) obtaining an offical record/letter of my membership for my health funds rebate . Michael did it for me within a very short time without any waiting game or given incorrect records. he is a great ambassador and a great asset for the FF brands . he is a role model for other club managers to follow . Fitness first Bondi Platinum offers one of the nicest gyms in Sydney. The gym is incredibly spacious and open and allows lots of options from free weights, treadmills, spinning bikes, multiple weights machines. The gym offers lots of classes also from yoga all the way to maternity classes. The staff in the gym are very friendly and facilities are kept clean. I usually go to the gym in the early morning and always find that I have enough options in terms of equipment. The gym can be busy late evening but still there is enough options for everyone I feel. The gym offers an outside area too which is great to go when you have worked up a sweat. The outside also has a world class view out over Sydney harbour which makes your sweating worth it. read more

I'll tell you what - hands down, this has one of the best views of Sydney period and I love the outdoor area (where you can enjoy said view). But indoors, its pretty much always crowded and a lot of the equipment is shabby and not well maintained. This is definitely one of the nicest fitness firsts in Sydney, if not one of the nicest gyms in Sydney. I know all the experts say that weights is where it's at but I'm lazy so tend to stick to the treadmill. And while at any other gym I would choose the treadmill with the best view of the TV so as to pass the time, here I actually forgo the TV for the million dollar view of Sydney CBD and harbour bridge- seriously it's that good! Great selection of classes that I should but don't attend and change rooms are fancy pants. If I was in a bad mood I would dock a half star for the seventeen thousand escalators you have to take to get here but as I just went and am in a good mood because of all the endorphins, I'll give it the full five stars. read more

I've always struggled with gym memberships, I take them with the best of intentions, go a couple of times and then lapse into a routine of being too busy to go. That is until I joined Fitness First Bondi. Somehow I've managed to keep going. I think partly because it is a Platinum gym and therefore the membership is more expensive so I make myself go to ensure I'm getting my money's worth. I know this logic is slightly floored but it works for me. I do agree with Danielle's review that this is a very "aggressive" gym - but for me that's exactly what I need to kick myself into shape so I don't mind it. This gym has an army of personal trainers if you want a focused regime, there's also a full schedule of classes available and it's a large space with lots of machines, which come peak hours is a big bonus. I try to avoid the gym between 7am - 9am and 5pm - 7pm when it's crowded, steaming hot and overwhelming. But I think any gym would be the same. I think one of the best attributes of this gym is its view across Sydney and the Harbour. You can see all the way to the bridge and on a nice day when the sun is shining and the harbour is sparkling it's a beautiful way to work out. read more

At school you either excercised or you were in the arts - I was in the arts. With the desire to get healthy, I joined Fitness First Bondi to help get inspired and later upgraded to Platinum when it first opened. Now here's the thing, Platinum is beautiful and the amenities are excellent but it has a certain feeling that doesn't inspire me to work out. It's a very "aggressive" gym - it's all about do more, be more, run more, lift more - so if you like push push push then this is the place for you.... Unfortunately, it was not the place for me. Like all gyms, this one is quite expensive and if you're in a contract it is difficult to get out. I did find myself in a unique experience when I called the gym to cancel my membership and I thought it was worthwhile sharing. I rang the membership person and said "I'd like to cancel my membership" the woman on the other end of the phone asked me "Is that because you've stopped caring about yourself?" What?!? Really? I assured her I was very happy with myself and just didn't like her gym. Leaving Fitness First felt good. In fact it was my first positive Fitness First experience in a long time. This gym at Bondi Westfield's has only members due to its geographical location, Its nice views and it being situated in the shopping heart of Bondi junction has its advantages for members. However I've been a member at Fitness first for over 10 years and its a real shame I live in the area as I experience how this club in particular prejudice, especially to members who are not of Anglo ethnicity. My best decision ever was when I left to sign up elsewhere. As a frequent Gym user this club problem lies with there front desk staffing. Service there I found is appalling. I'm in business management myself and as I recall having to wait over 15 minutes to get service at front desk not just once but on several occasions,..... is "just crazy" . Sometimes out of frustration you would leave the club having waited so long not even getting served which is a joke. I recall during midday once there were 5 staff members lounging around while I stood waiting .Speaking to other members they do share the same views that the staff there are crud, disrespectful and cold .This club is a real let down to the other clubs that are friendly in the area. read more
