Ok I've attended this gym for quite awhile now. Something's not quite right about it. I think it's the lay out on the weights floor. I hate that the only places to do chin ups are on the other side of the floor to the powercages. It makes it incredibly hard to superset upper lower splits. At other gyms, it wouldn't bother me, but since the weights floor is a little aggressive. I'd be concerned about losing one of the other if i was to super set squats with pull ups.
Some of the younger pts are also quite aggressive. I've had one shoot me dirty looks for using a piece of equipment differently to the traditional, when she wanted to use it with her client. Whilst I'm mentioning the pts, there seems to be a few senior ones who know what they are doing, but there are a lot of younger ones who do not. It's almost cringe worthy to watch. But it's hard to blame them as becoming a qualified pt doesn't require much training.
This gym is HOT. I'm told it is because of the indoor heated pool. At first I thought it was me, not being used to Aussie weather. In summer it was incredibly stifling. I worked out 530 am workouts were a little cooler. The humidity also rusts the equipment, which gets all over my clothes. You'd think they'd wipe it down with CLR one a month....
If I could reconsider my membership, I think I might have gone with the new gym at nundah or genesis. Such a great space which unfortunately doesn't live up to its potential. read more
