This place is trash. All their equipment is out of date/lagging/stuck, or just doesn't work. The treadmills work in rotation when in comes to being down or broken. This gym has everything that you can possibly need at a gym. it is an open concept and very family oriented. There is sauna, steam room, classes, weights, cardio and tanning beds. Oh I almost forgot they have a child care area as well. The staff has worked here for years and are always kind and welcoming. The pool is heated! They have a dead lifting area outside and a boxing area outside as well/ in the covered pool area. Price is great as well! read more

I've been going to this gym for about a month now and I love it. Nobody is in your face, people are cool and stick with their own routine. I bring both of my kids and the daycare is amazing - that was my biggest concern and I being them just about daily and the area is huge for them to play, and the babysitter is really sweet with them. Also - I read that the owner was rude in previous posts and kept waiting for an encounter with this "rude" owner. I finally asked the sitter who the owner was and realized the woman I came into contact with almost daily was her and she's very cool so I'm not sure what that was about. read more

LADIES: NO SPORTS BRAS ALLOWED! SEXIST DRESS CODE POLICIES HERE. It's difficult for me to give this gym more than two stars. The second star is strictly for the fact that it's a pretty large space with a substantial amount of equipment, open 24/7, and has a large parking area. Also, the service I received was friendly/helpful and a partial refund (for a week pass) was given to me when requested. That being said, the machines are pretty old and the locker room is quite small. However, I had a major issue with the way this gym is run. THEY DO NOT ALLOW BARE MIDRIFFS. Not joking. I usually wear a sports bra but this time, I actually wore a T-shirt knotted in the front. So we're talking like a triangle of midriff. A gym employee approached me and told me that they do not allow bare midriffs because this is a "family gym." Naturally, I requested a partial refund (I purchased a week pass). I couldn't help myself - I had to hear their reasoning. I asked the manager to explain. She said that they don't want teenage girls being gawked at by older guys and thus, they just end up instituting a general rule (get real, guys will gawk at girls regardless of whether they are showing midriff or not and how dare they police women's bodies as if the responsibility to not be gawked at falls on the females). As if that wasn't bad enough, she added "you're in good shape but what if someone that isn't wears something like that." I had to keep my jaw from dropping. Really? You're a fitness institution and you're fat shaming? I was nice and polite and just told her that "I don't see anything offensive or sexual when it comes to a woman's midriff and that their policies are unfortunately not in line with my personal beliefs and wardrobe." She was polite back and issued my refund. In the end, they are a private business and can set guidelines as they please but I'll be damned if they were going to take any more of my money. I view the gym as such an empowering place and the fact that it can be so sexist, discriminatory, and body-negative is a real bummer. read more

*Please read this before giving your business to this place.**    I have been a member for about two years and a student, so when a position opened up I jumped at it due to how convenient it was with everything else going on in my life.  Due to this I can confidently say that I have been discriminated against at this place . The first time I was told I couldn't wear my bandana( black with flowers, nothing gang related) because it looked ghetto. I had no problem removing my bandana given that it had no especial meaning to me, honestly I just used it to hold my short hair. The following week I was wearing my Tichel (headscarf) and one of the owners ask me to remove it.  While no one should be asked to justify why they wear a headscarf, given that its such a popular and significant item that is worn for medical , religious, and cultural reasons ect. all around the world, I assumed that maybe she was ignorant in the significance of my headscarf and that there is a difference between a bandana and a Tichel (headscarf). I tried to explain to Holly, the owner, that it was of cultural significance to me but I was brushed off and told to talk to Lino. I was upset that she was so fast to shut me down because she did not even try to understand the meaning behind my Tichel.  Her whole attitude felt degrading and insulting. I stayed quiet and did my work, however, while on the clock I notice that two of my co-workers had a hat on " while the rule is no hats ect." They never got addressed by her about the hats regardless of working next to her all day. I asked one of them if they were asked to remove their hat and of course they were not. I went home and cried because I realize that what made the bandana and the headscarf look ghetto was the fact that a brown person chose to wear it. I can truly say that I had never felt so discriminated against. Yet, I wish it would have ended their but sadly it didn't I texted the second owner Lino and explain what happen in hope to get someone less ignorant and more sensitive to the whole situation but, it ended up getting minimalized because he could not believe or perhaps even accept that what she had done was discriminatory. It was mind blowing to me, it's like telling a person "oh no you didn't get robbed he just took your bag" .. are you serious? I'm telling you what it was, whether it was consious or unconscious bias it happen because I felt it. I never had to go home and cry over anything like this before so trust me when I say it happen. He proceeded to state the hat rule applied to all the employees but it happens to be that I was the only one to got addressed about it . I have to say that Lino did apologize and excuse what happen by telling me that he didn't know my head scarf was of meaning to me. Given that I was wearing a bandana and that meant nothing. I understand that but, like I said I tried to explain to Holly that it was of cultural significantce but she was so fast to dismiss me that it proved she could careless. While it's understandable to be ingnorant on a topic it's inexcusable to shut down someone that is try and educated you about something of such a great significance. The evidence all points to me being discriminated against because of my race and skin color because if it was all a great misunderstanding, why was he so quick to fire me? I did nothing wrong. I was covering both shifts for daycare and I was set to cover them till he found someone to cover afternoons. After this incident I didn't feel comfortable working the morning. Lino said he  understood that I didn't want to work mornings with someone so blatantly racist but he couldn't give afternoons because he found someone to cover them? I don't know how ignorant they think I am, but you are telling me, that before you had no one to cover the shifts and now that that this happened someone magically got hired to cover afternoons, so I can't work the afternoons? While they tried to make excuses for their racism,  actions speak louder than words, don't they? This was truly and eye opening expirance of how ugly and ignorant people can be. If this is how they treat their employees, who is to say they won't do the same to a customer? Some may argue that they would never be so blatantly racist however, as a previous customer for 2 years I can assure that if you are a person of color you'll be faced with discriminatory and less than pleasant stares from them especially the owner, Holly. read more

If you're a female wear a trash bag. I stopped going the day the owner told me I needed to wear a different shirt to workout. I could raise my arms all the way above my head and it still wouldn't show midriff in this top but she claimed she wanted to protect me from "men staring". Came here to workout this morning, I'm currently a member in Sacramento at the fitness systems there and have always had a great experience. The employee in the front informed me that since I am a member of Sacramento I can only use this gym once a week. Then proceeded to ask for all of my information all over again including a copy of my photo ID. I have a picture of my ID on my phone and she very rudely would not accept that. I had brought a friend that was going to sign up but based on the experience I had there we both ended up leaving without a workout. I will never come back to this location the employee who helped us was "Holly" and she lacked empathy and professionalism. She did not seem to care about us or our overall experience. I'd recommend the Sacramento locations over this one, all of the employees there make you feel welcomed each time you visit. read more

Worse place to workout I swear this place is filthy. I friendly people, the man on the counter walked around being all creepy. My family decided to come to this place to try it out and since they decided to close for COVID we can't go but they continue to keep charging us and deduct to our bank we haven't been working out, the place was closed for COVID but they have their guts to charged us. We cancelled our membership but the lady stated she still charge us for next month which is this month! How broke are you? For real? This gym is a staple in my life. I've been coming to this gym for about 3ish years now 5 days a week. I had left a small gym where men would harass or interrupt my workouts to this spacious gym where everyone is friendly and respectful. I definitely feel safer here and know that the staff would take any concern I have seriously, which means a lot. They have tons of equipment! This place is huge and vast! Of course I would love duplicates of smaller equipment like step up boxes bc the gym is so big or a few select machines that would fit my routine better, but otherwise I can't complain bc I've found ways to make everything work for my heavy weightlifting routine. When I want to change things up, I take a class from Maria who is amazing, fun, and so knowledgeable! Her spin class will kick your butt and the spin bikes are great quality! But my all time favorite part has been their daycare. I was very nervous when I brought my baby here (first time mom) and Karina was SO incredible. My daughter would cry at first, but Karina worked her magic. Fast forward a 1.5 years and my daughter will occasionally cry leaving Karina bc she loves her so much! It makes my heart so so happy knowing I'm leaving her with someone who cares about the kids she watches, learns their names and personalities, and has fun with them. And on top of it, I'm a better mom for having a bit of time devoted to me everyday. My daughter and I look forward to coming here everyday. I cannot believe how affordable it is with this quality of care. I've recruited all my Davis friends to come here bc it's half the price for 2x the equipment and 24hrs! Can't beat it! read more

Horrible experience at this gym For starters I use to be a member at this gym about 6 years ago I had a bad experience then but came back because they were one of 2 gyms in town with daycare..... I then brought my wife and sister in law because they wanted to try out the gym and potentially sign with them as well but we were treated very horrible the lady behind the desk I believe her name was Holly could be wrong but she kept telling us to read the sign that there was no daycare because Labor Day cool got it and then when I asked about my wife and her sister wanting to try the gym and potentially sign she said no they could not even have a tour of the place despite me telling her west sac location allows a day pass she turned me away and told me to go there instead I called and canceled my membership after leaving went across town to try out another gym and they treated us 100x better and carry newer equipment the staff even allowed me the month free just for canceling my current membership and signing with them....I will never be back fitness system ever again read more

However, my only concern is the people not wearing face masks. I have also seen people not even clean the machines after they are done using them. The female owner is sexisti believe her name is holly, I was wearing a crop top active top and she came and said I was wearing a sports bra and explained to me on how they weren't allowed nonetheless I explained my attire wasn't a sports bra and she went on on how then I'm required to wear a visible bra under my active top.. which didn't make sense. Nonetheless I put on a hoodie while I did my workout. I want to note that I've worn that top various occasions around the gym and was not told nothing the times before.As well as other tops that are the same crop length and not once was I approached by any workers. And then asked for the dress code on my way out after my workout and it was apparent that various people were breaking the dress code and I asked why she only called me out and not the rest and then went and asked me to go and get them and point them out. Very unprofessional and unpleasant experience!!! I make it a practice to give my hard earned money to people that deserve it. This business has the worste business practices, and I would not advise anyone to do business with them. They were not honest, but then had the guts to call me a liar when I was attempting to cancel my membership and told them I did not use the account! A few of the main reasons why I did not use it was that the staff could care less if you are there to interupt their conversations with each other or if you jump off a piece of equiptment; they are not attentive at all, were very curt and rude when I cancelled the membership after giving them five hundred dollars for a few visits, and they do not keep accurate records. Fitness system is definitely not a welcoming nor friendly gym. The stuff members don't bother to be polite to the gym members and treat them poorly. To make it worse, most of their equipment is old and requires maintenance. Lastly, but not less important, they don't allow women to show their midriff, even if all they're showing is 1 cm of it. I never felt welcomed, and I was constantly worried about showing some skin. I believe this is an absurd policy because crop tops are a trend in gym gear and because they're not offensive nor disrespectful to anyone . Not just it's absurd, but not motivational to all those women trying to feel more confident and motivated to work out to improve their self esteem. Where do I start? I couldn't ever get into this gym. The staff was friendly, but the gym. Dirty. Smelled bad. Classes were so/so, tried spin, more like Zumba on a spin bike. I wasn't a fan of the crowd that hung out there. To many douche bags throwing around weight they had no idea what they were doing with. The pro's of the gym is the equipment. They have a lot of machines you don't see a big box gyms.. The nail on the coffin for me was waiting at the front desk for my husband and I watched the guy at the front need something and asked the day care staff to LEAVE the daycare and run in the back to get something. So she left the entire daycare unattended to run in the back for something and was gone for a few min... Not just stepped out of the room, but left other people's children completely unattended. read more

This is the best gym in town. Straightforward, simple layout with a diverse range of resistance training and cardio equipment. Consistent use of this gym has helped me reach fitness goals executing 15 miles/day on the treadmill & a comprehensive resistance circuit exercising every muscle group. WOODLAND FITNESS SYSTEM IS RUN BY THE WORST MANAGER. Holly does not know what She is doing and DOES NOT know how to treat customers. I was INTERRUPTED in the middle of my workout because apparently my girlfriends "crop top" was inappropriate. So I gave a shirt to my girlfriend to wear and told HOLLY I do not like to be interrupted during my workout and IF rules need to be enforced, then it needs to be done when checking in at the front desk, NOT while we're working out 30 min later. SHE then kicked us out of the gym and said we could never come back. WTF? Worst manager I've ever talked to who has NO respect for customers. It's a shame. She should've been gone A LONG time ago and her dad should be running it again. AND if you're reading this Holly, get a hold of yourself. I would love to come back down and give you a piece of my mind when you're there, But you're honestly not worth my time. Hope everyone at this gym realizes what a shitty manager/owner she is. I attended this gym for about a year and a half because of one simple fact... 24 hours. I'd say the clientele is approximately 75% men. Staff are hit or miss, sometimes they are friendly, sometimes you just get a nod. PROS: The gym is big and they have lots of machines. Everything you need to get it done. The gym has an aerobics room that isn't used all that often so its usually available; I used to use it for ab workouts and stretching. Also, this gym has a decent outside (covered) area of heavy bags for boxing and MMA. This is a big plus for myself since I practice martial arts and it is nice to have this option. Also, the no contract option at $39/mo. is decent in this day of contract gyms. CONS: This gym does not have good A/C and it gets unbearably hot in the summer. I remember running on their treadmills and feeling like I was gonna pass out it was so hot. Also, the treadmills are often broken or under repair. And this place isn't that clean. I remember stretching in the aerobics room and crickets were coming under the gap in the door to outside. The bathroom is tiny and not very clean. Machines are hardly ever cleaned as well. They have a new policy where you have to give them your keys to get a gym towel (tiny) and I remember seeing them use these same towels to clean machines. They definitely are not 'fresh towels' Overall, this gyms selling points are the month-to-month contract and 24 hours as well as the large selection of machines.
