She arrived around 8am to set up (party started at 1) and came back the next day to get all her things. Price was very reasonable esp compared to comps. We had multiple goals during the planning process - to make sure the wedding at our expansive venue still felt like us, to make sure our guests had a good time, and to have everything planned to the point where we'd just show up and be present. During the planning process: They worked around our schedules. We would sometimes have to meet after work hours but in between, we would respond via text or email for any quick decisions. They were very receptive to feedback and guided us through decisions that aligned with our budget and design goals. They also attempted to curate and present choices that reflected our personalities - they made consistent efforts to get to know us each step of the way, which helped make our wedding truly feel like ours. They crafted presentations (even these were beautiful!) with options for each vendor, including the costs and their portfolio so that we would be able to make informed decisions They helped us handle all communication and negotiations of pricing with our vendors In the end, we definitely had an A+ team to have the wedding beyond our dreams. I am in awe and filled with immense appreciation and gratitude for what they do. The week of our wedding, my coworkers were surprised that I was so calm. It was an odd feeling as there were no worries to be had and we were just able to focus on making sure our families were getting into town okay. On the day of the wedding, Jenn made sure our tea ceremony was set up and ready to go while Morgan handled set up at the venue. They made sure we were fed and hydrated throughout the day. There were some family issues/hiccups that they took care of for us so gracefully that no one noticed anything was amiss. We were able to mingle and take pictures with our guests without worrying about anything else. Our guests thoroughly enjoyed the wedding. There were many reasons I chose Jenn from the get-go: prior to even booking her, she was already going above and beyond to get in touch with our venue and other vendors I was interested in. Our venue initially told us we could only use a planner, caterer, and DJ from their approved list...but Jenn's experience in the industry and being the "voice" for her brides allowed us to book her as well as other vendors that were not originally on the "approved" list. Being detail-oriented myself, I knew I had picked the right planner when all of my other vendors told me "she is the queen of details" when they found out who our coordinator was! I'm so grateful we had Jenn by our sides throughout the planning process, as she was able to take my ideas and give her recommendations to make things even better (I went from thinking I wanted only white and green florals to having colorful bouquets and arrangements and I'm so glad Jenn helped to change my mind on that one)! She will coordinate with all of your vendors to create timelines, menus, floor plans, and will even make last minute adjustments to ensure everything is perfect. I promise that you will not have to worry about a thing on your wedding day thanks to Jenn and her team! She made sure all my vendors were ready to go, and was always very responsive to my emails, calls, or texts. But the day of, was where she really shined. She was on-top of her game making sure everything ran perfectly, checking in with me when things were running behind schedule, and remembering the smallest details. Not only is she very good at her job, but her bubbly personality made me feel happy and at ease. Since I am a perfectionist who did a lot of the pre-wedding planning, this is saying a lot! I felt comfortable letting go and enjoying the moment, knowing that Teresa had it handled. Many of my guests that work in the industry also commented on what a great job Teresa did. Hundreds of legislators and staffers pour in for 4 hours to experience the sights and comfort of the beauty industry environment that Do an Event creates for us each year. Each year Kevin brings a unique twist and look to the tent on the steps...always intimate, fun, and fashion forward. The name of our event is "Welcome to Our World" better known in the beauty industry as the 'WOW' event. Aside from the wonderful stylists, estheticians and nail technicians that serve our guests, the staff of Do an Event is an integral part of why WOW becomes even more WOW every year. Every detail of our event is anticipated and handled with grace and ease. Kevin makes my job easy. She arrived exactly on time, set up in like 2 minutes and literally worked her tail off for 1 1/2. We had way more kids than we were expecting and she made these awesome detailed balloons for every kid and even managed to do face masks for 15 kids in like 40 minutes. She agreed to stay 30 minutes over our arrangement (I paid her) without missing a beat. All of my guests commented on how amazing the balloon creations were. She was worth every penny! I sent contact information via the website and ultimately had a conversation with Carolyn on 10/14/2024 for a 11/22/2024 event. She confirmed space, time and availability and confirmed the date. At no point did she mention any other needed communication, including a contract or deposit to pay. I thought this was odd, but she assured me all would be fine. It is now the day of and I spoke with her this morning to confirm everything. She said she would send me an invoice, told me what time I could be there and even asked if our artist would be willing to host these events regularly. An hour later I get professionally crafted email (which she has NEVER spoken to me in this way) telling that since I failed to get this event approved or send in a contract or pay beforehand AND because she is double-booked, my event is summarily CANCELLED. I have promoted this event, collected payment and to cancel with less than FIVE HOURS to go is not just unprofessional but is close to criminal. Carolyn refused to answer my calls, her staff hung up on me and all she did was send me an email stating she has to be "fair and consistent". Fair to whom?? Stay FAR AWAY from either of these businesses as they are NOT well run!
