I recently visited the store to buy some neat doll clothing and accessories for my niece's dolly for Christmas. The store has relocated to the inside of the Tradewinds Mercantile Exchange. Between this store and Grandma's lovely handmade gifts this little doll has a wardrobe as big and any girlie girl in our house. I purchased a bed and few outfits to include a GA Bulldogs cheerleader outfit equipped with pom-poms. I've also made purchases online while being stationed in Maryland. The shipping was really prompt even during the holidays. The owner answered all of my questions via email and phone and this business accepts PayPal which is a plus in my book as it gives online and phone buyers secure purchasing! This is the 2nd time I received this kind of service at this location. I made a purchase at the location in October and had to ask for help after standing in the shoe dept. meanwhile other customer were spoken to and I was overlooked. Once the salesperson brought back the shoe in a hurry she tried to rush me out the store and I told her that I was continuing to look. Finally after carrying the shoes and doing a balancing act of sorting through the racks...another salesperson acknowledged me and asked if she could put the shoes at the register. On Saturday, 11/16/24 to be quite honest even if you had the item I was looking for there is no way I would have spent money there. I will say that I've always received excellent customer service at the Surrey Center location. I'm not sure if I received this sort of service at the Martinez location due to the color of my skin. I have mentioned this to many family members, friends and coworkers. As I left the store on 11/16/24, I felt so upset (honestly, I could have cried right there in the store) but instead I left. I wouldn't want anyone else to receive the same treatment I received.

This…read moreconsignment shop is heavily stocked in second hand clothing which is not on my "treasure hunt" list. Also, items seem very reasonably priced, but I can't speak to the clothing prices. I truly appreciated the cashier pointing out the cracked/chipped glass on the inside of a vintage food storage container lid that made the purchase a "no go". Frankly, this second hand shop should have a consigner store policy of "no broken, chipped, cracked, torn, stained, no missing buttons, etc" on items allowed. This keeps the quality high, and the reputation of the store honorable. If the consigner is determined to try to sell a damaged item they should at least note "As Is" on the price tag to alert the customer, and that wasn't the case with the glass storage container. The numerous framed "Best of Consignment Shop" awards says this spot is loved by locals! All proceeds from sales here go towards running a homeless shelter for women and children. Whether you're thrifting to try and save money or reduce your environmental impact, I highly recommend checking this place out. They're also looking for volunteers, so if that's your thing this is a good place for it!
