While I'm lucky enough not to have major physical ailments, I have seen Shelby for sleep issues and general stress maintenance brought-on by my busy life as a corporate attorney and non-stop, churning mind. After years of restless sleep, I can now proudly say I sleep with ease thanks to my monthly acupuncture treatments. I have referred many friends and family to Shelby, and there is no other practitioner I would trust with my loved ones. She was exceedingly helpful in treating my father's Parkinson's symptoms, and in helping other family members with a wide array of varying health issues. Her advice is solid, sound and practical. She helps make the practice of acupuncture approachable and easy to understand. (And as someone who has always disliked needles and medical procedures, I can assure you that acupuncture needles are indeed extremely tiny and nothing to fear.) The doctor was so great to help inform me and educate me more than any doctor has ever in my past. I am not one to visit the doctor often because I am so against treating symptoms with prescription drugs. I love that they focus on finding the root causes to any challenges we may have. Education is so powerful and after my first visit, I have a greater understanding of how body should work and what I can do to help it function even better. I have had one adjustment, and they were great to help walk me through what to expect. I was nervous because I haven't had much exposure to chiropractic services and treatments. They were recommended by a friend of mine that has been coming here for awhile who has chronic migraines like I do. I had my x-rays done and consult with Dr. Xavier. He explained everything going on and spent an hour with me and my husband explaining his concerns and then presenting a structured plan for how to fix it. Unlike other places I have gone, that would do ex rays and then I would go for months and months not knowing if I was improving or not, they monitor your progress every step of the way. And there's no question of how long treatment will take. They break it all down for you on paper along with how much it will cost. They also offer a flexible monthly payment plan that is interest free. With the plan comes way more than just visits in the office. It also comes with all of the equipment needed to keep up with your care at home, including a traction device for my neck, exercise seat for low back stretches, and more. The plan also includes nutrition therapy and any needed supplements. I am doing daily defense and omega 3, along with an eating plan. Dr. Liz will go to the grocery store with you to help you get started and consult on what to buy if you want! They are always available for questions or advice.
