Getting around the San Antonio area during the Solar Eclipse was difficult to plan. Our group was going from the hotel to SWRI 2 days in February 2026. Our contact said they were late picking them up from SWRI and one day from the hotel by 1/2 hr. Unacceptable! I reached out to my contact about this and never heard back from him. He was so willing to set the transportation up, but when it didn't go well, I never heard back from him. At the 3:45 am pickup time the dispatcher called and said the driver had been in a wreck - icy streets and that he would not be sending anyone else due to the hazardous conditions. If you're looking for fast, reliable, and friendly private transportation services in the state of Texas, Five Star should be your only call. I called a day before I needed a pickup in Austin, and was able to organise timings and price with the courteous coordinator on the phone. There were various payment options, and I was emailed my invoice immediately. The next day, the driver coordinated timings with me on the phone- I had notifications of the pickup, ETA, and the drop off in College Station. I even got a call when there was a potential delay due to an accident, but the delivery happened completely on time. All my items (TV, sound bar, skillet) arrived safe and sound, with true door to door delivery of everything- including loading and unloading items. This was a great help since my uncle couldn't help load items at the pick up due to their weight. Next time I need transportation services to get anywhere in the state, I'm calling Five Star and you should too. read more

My husband and I needed pick-up and drop-off from San Antonio airport for our hotel downtown. We called a few services before selecting Five Star. They replied to our email right away and their price couldn't be beat. A few days before out trip we had a call to confirm all our info, including flight info. The driver, Gloria, kept track of our arrival time so that if the plane was early or delayed, she'd be aware. Within 10 minutes of landing, we had a call that she'd be ready to meet us as soon as we exited the terminal and gave us her car make/model. Gloria also recommended a great place for dinner, within minutes of our hotel. Heading back was just as easy; we had a call the day before to confirm pick-up time back to the airport. I was asking to be picked up in a remote area and driven far into the city with not much notice. I tried cabs, shuttles, some popular service (not available in my area) and some local private drivers....after two days of frustration, 5star just happened to pop up in a search on the DAY OF!!!! It was unusual for me going through Yelp, but I had nothing to lose and was running out of time and options, so I threw a hailmary and I heard back within MINUTES. JAMES responded. Gave me particulars. More information. Then as if a miracle happened....he came up with a solution to my dilemma. He was courteous. Professional. Concise. Deliberate and an honest to goodness blessing. He asked me to go to the app and pay. Which is NOT something I do often or easily but my gut said do it and frankly I was out of options.
