They gave me an estimate window of 2pm-4pm on Wednesday. They never showed up. No one bothered to give me advanced warning of being late or not showing up. I called them, and a lady was fumbling her words and making a ton of excuses. She said she would call me back in "3 minutes." She never called me back, but she did send an email to reschedule. Based on no follow through of something basic as a phone call, I went against my gut instinct and decided to give them one more chance. They gave me a one hour window of 2pm-3pm on Thursday. They never showed up. No one bothered to give me advanced warning of being late or not showing up. I called them, and a lady was fumbling her words and making a ton of excuses. The apologies sounded insincere as if it was something she was repeating all day long to people. She said she could reschedule me for the following Tuesday, but offered no ownership of the issue and no guarantee that the 3rd time would be any different. If they didn't want the job, then they should have told me. I wouldn't have wasted 2 days off and I wouldn't have written this bad review.

This is my first time posting anything like this. Illuminations were by far the most expensive of…read moreany of the 4 bids that we got for our home in College Park. That said, we went with them because they seemed like they knew the most and had the best plan. The installation was a nightmare: took 3 times as long as it should have, they damaged my landscape beds, they kept asking ME for advise on the electrical wiring portion of it (i am not an electrician...), etc. We have around 25 lights and the system was SUPPOSED to be expandable as we have additional transformers, etc. About one month after the install I discovered that several of the wire run were done in 14 gauge wire, which is below the recommended gauge, especially for long runs (which should be at LEAST 12 gauge even for short runs according to EVERY LED fixture manufacturer.) When I called the owner of the company about it, he essentially told me that they don't count on customers investigating the system after install, and claimed that the system is expandable, but that new wire runs would be needed (which I would have to pay for). My response was that that's not expanding, it's REPLACING. To their credit, most of the system is fine, but almost $7K spent with these guys on a brand new system, and now I am going to have to do new wire runs less than 2 months after install. Unbelievable....

They took it a step further and found a faulty connection with the new electric meter installed by Duke Energy a few months ago. I called Duke Energy and they they are coming out to fix it. They did not charge me for coming to look at the unit. Husband and wife teams is always great to see. Great customer service and quick response. I had some additional work done at another address. Run and install new power for ceiling receptacle, attic lighting and ring doorbell. All expertly done with no messes left behind.

Smartron has been excellent, thank you…read more First, I'm in California and my property is in Florida. Smartron coordinated with the utility company to unlock the panels and arranged inspection at the end. They took care of everything. We had a problem with double taps on an electric panel. Smartron upgraded the necessary panels and fixed the double tap issues. As you can see from the pictures the work is very clean and organized. I will definitely call Smartron again if I need anymore electrical done in the area. Also, Smartron made sure there were smoke detectors located throughout in order to pass inspection. I give it two stars because the guy was nice and the lady who booked the appointment was nice. For some reason, he thought I was going pay 1k on the spot to have him fix "loose wires" and $2500 to fix the lose wires with a whole house surge protector. And for 10K, I can have all the above done plus rewire "back stabbed outlets". He wasn't going to insure his work without replacing all the back stabbed outlets. Spoke with three electricians this morning who are laughing at these prices. The tech wouldn't email me the estimates because of "competition" but I think it's because the prices are so outrageous that he literally didn't want proof of them in anyone's hands. I did get the two lowest estimates that I described above sent to my email... he'd only send two out of the five or six he wrote up on his ipad sitting in my kitchen. Just really bad optics. I'd find an hourly electrician of I were you. I felt I was in a two hour sales call that I needed to pay for. The whole thing was just really bizarre and there were a lot of "firsts" for me that Ive never seen from any trades company.
