When we arrived we were given hand sanitizer and Lysol and breeders had on masks so I appreciated the conscientious handling of things. She brought mother dog out to meet us first and then father dog who was also on premises. She answered my many questions patiently and really seems to be a kind hearted person. The dog we brought home is exactly what you would want. Great disposition, curious and not aggressive and learning so fast it's shocking. Pushing a bell to go out for potty on her first day at our house. The breeder provided some food to go home along with a littermate scented toy and towel. She asked questions from us and watched us interact with the dogs and checked to see how the puppy did on the ride home, I'm so happy to have found this wonderful breeder and the next addition to our family,!

After my companion pup of 12 years passed away, I knew I wanted another pup in our lives. After doing research on different types of breeds I fell in love with the miniature Goldendoodle breed. Little did I know that during Covid everyone wanted to adopt a new puppy! Every breeder in California had long waitlists of over a year! I did find breeders out of state but I did not find the idea of shipping a new puppy ideal. I wanted a local breeder with experience whom I can see face to face. Luckily in my exhaustive search I found Tropico Kennels! Lisa was the only breeder I found that had availability and that did not require for me to sign up for a lengthy waitlist and submit a deposit before the puppy was born. I found it ludicrous to pay a large deposit having no idea what the puppy will even look like! I kept checking the website regularly to see when new pups were being born. The website has a lot of useful and valuable information about the process of adopting and welcoming a new Goldendoodle puppy. Once pictures were posted online of the newborn pup I was interested in, I submitted my interest form. Lisa contacted me right away and I paid my deposit. Lisa worked with me in regards of accepted payment forms for deposit and I found her to be very knowledgeable and friendly. The website provided all the details I needed : I knew exactly when my pup would come home, expected weight, parent info, type (F1B, F1BB etc), shedding info, and the pictures of the newborn puppies. I do wish I had more communication from Lisa in terms of pictures and details as the puppy was growing (I was obsessed) but I knew she was busy and in the end I got my perfect dream puppy. When it was time to pick up my baby, I drove to Lisa's beautiful ranch and her husband was friendly and nice when delivering the dog to me. All in all I would recommend this breeder for anyone looking for a gorgeous Goldendoodle pup!

I have read the negative reviews on here about Rhonda and I need to clear some things up. 1. This is an independent person running a rescue. This is not a breeder. This is not a pet store. This is not the shelter. Rhonda is dedicating her life to do something she is passionate about; caring for unwanted and abandoned Huskies. 2. Being a rescue, which doesn't euthanize animals, and without taxpayer funding, they are running on a much smaller budget than your local shelters are. As such they can't rescue every dog that is turned in. Anyone on here ripping Rhonda for being unable to rescue your neglected animal is just sounding entitled and awful. Do you have any idea how it must feel to have to turn away neglected animals because you simply can't save them all? Shame on you for bashing someone who spends their time helping the best they can in a sad situation. 3. Rhonda is picky in finding homes for her animals. Why shouldn't she be? My families application was denied for a reason I particularly don't agree with. But I 100% respect her decision. Instead of assuming a stranger knows you and your integrity, try to imagine how hard it is to spend your life seeing abused, severely neglected, and unwanted animals come in over and over again. Try to imagine how painful it is for a person to do their due diligence to find a good home, only to find out the dog was ultimately placed in an uncaring situation. An animal they tried to save. An animal they loved and cared for. I'd be picky as Hell who I adopt to as well. 4. I didn't experience Rhonda being anything but polite with me. But I took the time to be polite with her up front. I'm willing to bet all of you saying Rhonda is rude didn't give her a chance to be polite. At the end of the day what Rhonda and Husky Haven of LA is doing is a service towards animals who don't have a lot of people looking out for them. I will never look elsewhere when adopting my next Havanese (or a breed that isn't a Havanese, for that matter). I adopted Cookie, formally Cartier, from the "C" litter. From our first phone call in Fall 2024, Marti was attentive to the details of my life and what kind of puppy temperament would be best fit for my lifestyle. She is kind, SO communicative, and the most detail-oriented, loving, and caring person/breeder. Seeing how loved these puppies are far before they are even born was constant reassurance that I made the best choice. I would receive multiple texts/pictures/videos a day when Cookie was born. So anxious and excited to get my puppy, Marti answered all of my questions and was always so reassuring and kind. Cookie came to me loving her crate (this was a game changer), being exposed to so many sights and sounds (her groomer says she is better behaved than adult dogs she's been grooming for years ), and is the epitome of a perfect puppy and I truly owe it all to Marti because she set Cookie (and the rest of her litter) up for complete success. All of the puppies were there when I visited the next day. Each one of the puppies were absolutely precious and they were happy and lively. The mother was nursing all of them . I wanted a female and there was 1 male & 1 female left. All the other puppies from the litter were spoken for. I quickly fell in love with Roxie and gave my deposit that night. I had to wait another month until the puppies were old enough to go to their new homes. Marty updated me with photos of my puppy and she also provided me important paperwork to look review. The entire process was very easy. The home where the puppies were living was very clean and orderly. Marti truly has the puppies, best interest and was so sweet and caring and accommodating to me. I had asked if she could keep the puppy for one more week because of my busy work schedule, and she was more than happy to do that. I have never purchased a dog before, but this process was very easy. My puppy is absolutely precious and everybody that meets her is obsessed with her. She is an absolute delight, and very well-behaved. I might add. I highly recommend Harris Havenese if you are thinking about getting a Havanese puppy.
