The business has changed hands between now and the last time I had them do work for me but I did…read morenot know that until today. There has been a change in the way they offer quotes and conduct business so I did not know what to expect. I was very happy with the the outcome. The work was very professionally done. Everything looked neat and tidy when John was finished his work, although there was a change in the final look because he was unable to get the cedar lattice requested and he had to substitute it with vinyl lattice. Nonetheless, I am very happy with the outcome. John, the carpenter, was prompt and on time for both his appointment to do the estimate as well as to do the work. That was a refreshing change from most other times when I have hired a contractor to do work for me. My interactions with both John and the young fellow (?Neal) who came to pick up the deposit cheque were very pleasant. Both of them smiled and greeted me courteously on arrival and John was very communicative in his description of what was being done, so there were no surprises. Would I hire them again? Yes, for many things I would. I am not sure about value as it has been a few years since I had other work done by carpenters or contractors. Prices have changed and the cost of doing business has definitely increased. Another reviewer mentioned something about a fee to adjust a quote... I guess one needs to know exactly what they want before requesting the quote and they need to express very clearly what that is. It really is not a scam to request a fee for a second quote because the person doing the quote is actually using their time that would otherwise have been spent on a gainfully paid task for someone else.

Then charging $50 to get the quote for what I actually wanted. When I told them it didn't sound right that they charge me for a misunderstanding, they said they wouldn't complete the job (they knew they couldn't scam me...)/
