Traveling in my Class C RV and generator would not start. I called Flag Tool Equipment and they were able to get me in the very next morning to look at it. Brian was the guy who helped me and he quickly found the problem, a loose fuel hose causing it to suck air. He tightened it and then checked over everything else in including and electrical output test which revealed it needed a slight adjustment. Then he checked oil and air filter. Amazing service, and a reasonable charge. This guy is very knowledgeable and thorough. Thank you and I hope in the future if I need service I am close by. read more

Flag Tool saved our bacon! In Flagstaff for 2 days, on arrival I noticed a gas smell. I thought it was from an old car driving by. The next morning same gas smell was present. Called a couple people but was only able to get ahold of Marissa at Flag Tool. Very friendly, with great communication skills. She relayed msg to husband about our situation. Owner/Husband was out in a call but gave us the next time slot. After 1 1/2 hrs we had the leak fixed, choke adjusted, spark plug, and oil changed on our Onan. Our Rig is a little hard to work on cause the Gen is under the rv but he was able to get to everything with a little extra effort. He didn't even mind me asking questions while he was under the rv working on it! Great family owned shop. We may be making a yearly trip to flagstaff to vacation and have our Generators oil changed :) read more

Brought in welder with Honda gx610. Had some wires messed up. Told them to get it running all they did was fix wires but didn't work on engine. Charged $1300 to connect a few wires. I think their way over their heads. I don't recommend them. read more

They could not get my Tennis machine working, and I took it to the community event, where they fix things... Almost anything. People volunteer to get things running or fixed. The volunteers figured out that the battery was dead! So funny, and fix my machine for good! The fact that flag tool an engine repair did not figure this out. Was in Kingman AZ after driving thru extreme heat of CA without the generator working to run house A/C. The mobile repair I was referred to in Kingman couldn't get to me so I looked in Flagstaff for RV repair, called a guy who was grocery shopping at the time and told me he wasn't a generator guy but knew a "generator guru" and gave me Bryon's number. Called Byron and was able to get my rig to his shop by 10 am and he had it fixed in an hour and showed me how to adjust the carb for any problems I potentially would have for the rest of my travels. Family owned business, I met his wife and young daughter while hearing other young feet running around upstairs!!! Byron is excellent at what he does and goes the extra mile!!! Really appreciate the attention he gave me in getting my rig (generator) running perfectly for the rest of my travels!!! Would even consider taking my rig to him for future repairs/maintenance!!!!! While traveling through Arizona the generator in my diesel motorhome would not stay running. I was referred to Flag Tool by another shop who was too busy. They got me in the same day, asked me a few questions about how it was acting and said they would get me in. My appointment was for 1:00 but we got there about 10:30. When I called at 1:00 to see how it was going they informed me it was fixed plus they changed the oil that I had asked them to do if they had time. The issue was just some poor adjustments made by a shop before I purchased it. It now runs better than it ever has. They were prompt, honest, fair and very competent. I'm happy that others had a good experience but my experience with these folks was absolutely horrible. I took in my portable generator for a minor issue and after 3 weeks and calling weekly I was told by the receptionist that the generator was toast. I insisted on talking to the mechanic and he said as much. I had to call them as I live in an RV and my generator is my lifeline. When I picked up the generator they brought it to me in pieces. They could have at least put it back together and one part was even missing. It was disgusting! My friend has the generator running and in good shape. Bottom line: They didn't even bother to mess with it. Guess if I had a 500 thousand dollar diesel pusher they might have given me the time of day and treated me like a human. LOUSY customer service!!!! read more

Our Onan Generator stopped suddenly with clanking noises while "drycamping" in Mather Campground at South Rim Grand Canyon. I GOOGLED a repair facility in Flagstaff-- found Flag Tool & Engine Repair then called and spoke with John the owner and explained what happened. That day...2 days before the 4th of July...these folks were willing to help us out so we drove to Flagstaff. This business has very good ratings and has long time family ownership. We live in Phoenix & have stopped at Flag Tool to pick up some Onan parts previously while traveling through Flagstaff, so we knew how friendly and helpful this family owned business treats their customers. John's technician Mike made short work of removing, disassembling our Onan HGJAB-901A Marquis Gold 5500. John showed us how, why, and what happened to cause such damage to our generator and tips how to avoid this happening again. They got a unique part shipped overnight from the Onan factory and by 3:30 the next afternoon, it was back in our Motorhome running smooth as silk. This is an authorized Onan repair shop. Had our Class C in for problem with generator. Turned out to be a missing adjusting nut for the choke. In and out in an hour cost $90. Also tested the gen for other issues and found none. Dealt with Michael. Service and communication couldn't have been better. read more

Great shop. We needed the generator in our motorhome repaired. Michael knew exactly what the problem was and replaced the gear in the starter in less than 45 minutes. A whole new starter would have been unnecessary and would have cost a lot more. Like the last reviewer said, service and communication couldn't have been better. read more

Needed to have my Onan 12.5 diesel generator repaired on short notice John and Mike came through with flying colors. Diagnoses and repaired not just the gen but found that the fans in my inverters where seized and replaced them as well. Most shops would have told me that the inverters needed to be replaced.
