Henry Morrison Flagler Museum -- it's truly one of my favorite museums. The building itself is breathtaking. The atmosphere feels grand and almost surreal -- high ceilings, intricate hand-crafted details, beautiful paintings, and original interiors that have been preserved so carefully. Walking through the rooms feels like stepping back in time. The closets, bathrooms, and living spaces are all still there, untouched, which makes the experience even more special. One detail that really surprised me was the shoes -- they were incredibly tiny, almost like doll shoes. It's amazing to see how different things were back then. On my recent visit, I noticed they opened a new section on the second floor that I hadn't seen before. It's a mix of contemporary art and historical fashion elements -- including clothing details, vintage shoe boxes, and personal items from the original residents. I especially loved the miniature handbags and a wall art piece featuring delicate gloves -- so small, elegant, and made from very fine leather. There are so many unique details to take in. There's also a gift shop on the first floor with a great selection -- we even picked up a Monopoly game themed around the museum, which was such a fun find. They also have books, coloring items, posters, jewelry, accessories, and even small unique souvenirs -- something for everyone. Another highlight is the separate glass building . They recently opened a café there that serves breakfast on weekends. The view is stunning -- overlooking the water with the historic train nearby. The space is bright, clean and very peaceful. The only inconvenience I experienced was when my kids were younger -- strollers are not allowed inside, so keep that in mind if you're visiting with small children. Luckily, I had a baby sling with me, which helped a lot. read more

Spent the day here as part of our anniversary celebration and it was a bit of a mixed bag. - The museum / estate tour was great. Learning about the history of the game and the grounds was good, and our charming docent was a wealth of knowledge which made it even better. - The staff and servers were all very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. - But... - The "high tea" designed to replicate a luncheon of the gilded age failed to live up to expectations. * I understand it's "tea" and not an AYCE buffet but when you pay almost $100 per person, you should reasonably assume you won't be leaving hungry. Au Contraire! * 2 finger sandwiches and mini tarts per person, plus 1/2 a deviled egg? My daughter's tea parties have more food than this... Plan on stopping for lunch after you eat here. read more

What a beautiful place, very well maintained. The price for adults is $28 and it takes about 2 hours maximum to walk around and learn a bit of the history, which you can hear through the devices they provide or on your cell phone. They also offer a guided tour with a person talking about the history. They no longer have the cafe/restaurant that was in the area where the train car is located, which is a shame; I would have loved to sit and have a coffee with the beautiful view of the canal there. read more

Every room, furniture, and collection was thoughtfully displayed and helped to show the full story and history behind Flagler and his mansion. This place is an iconic part of West Palm Beach. Beautiful, elegant, and lovely museum to check out in Palm Beach! We did the museum in about 2 hours and the views inside and are are gorgeous! There is free parking for museum guests on both the left and right side once you enter. You can get a guided tour or an audio tour as well. This is also a venue to take beautiful photos for weddings. A beautiful museum. Funny story. I was actually on my way to see the big Kapok tree. I made a turn and ended up here. I was so taken with the beauty of this museum that I decided to check it out. The museum was twenty-eight dollars. They had self-guided tours. They gave me a device that I used for the different rooms here. It is absolutely beautiful inside and air-conditioned. The ceiling alone was breathtaking. It was a beautiful era and this house museum was beautiful. It is a must-see. It had part of a train in one of the rooms outside that you could go inside. The staff was so friendly. They seemed happy to help. I had a great time and learned some history on the way. read more

The museum is incredible and amazing. I love the museum. The high tea was not great. I have been to many high teas. There is absolutely nothing, not one single item to wow about in the food or the service. The pink lemonade looks pretty in the glasses but it's country time lemonade. My water glass never got refilled. For the tea service for 4, she gave us 2 pots to share and then we waited for 2 more pots. The tea was good. The waitress slowly poured us tea. We are there for tea! I thought it was worth going because of the ambiance but I was wrong. Half way through our tea they started loudly closing and moving all the tables around us and making so much noise we couldn't hear each other talk. This was not relaxing or enjoyable to me. For the price we paid for tea and dry sandwiches I could have enjoyed a full delicious brunch elsewhere. I didn't care for the crispy cinnamon sugar scones or any of the food items. We tried taking photos at the end but one of the employees was cleaning in the way. We did do the self tour which was great. read more

One of the rare attraction spots in West Palm Beach, this place is so magnificent, so huge and so luxurious, I got the feeling how poor I am. Gigantic ball room, dining, library, master bed and bathroom, the other bedrooms, all of it such a wonderful display of the lavish accommodation the Flaglers had. The museum does an excellent job of protecting the original appearance and furnishing of the mansion. Lots of historical context of how it changed over many decades. They added a new section separate from the main building. It has a Flagler train's car that we were able to walk in. Very amusing. For the things they had, the ticket price of $28 per person was steep to me. But overall I really enjoyed the museum, its beautiful lawn and garden area. read more

The Flagler Museum is like stepping straight into the Gilded Age... with an audio guide as your very classy tour buddy. I did the self-guided tour, which was perfect, you can wander at your own pace like I did while the headset drops little nuggets of history that make you feel smarter than you probably are. The mansion itself is jaw dropping, no seriously, every room looks like it was designed to impress someone important (and probably did). My favorite part was imagining people actually living here, because honestly, changing outfits 7-8 times a day in Florida humidity feels pretty accurate. The grounds are gorgeous, the audio tour is easy to follow, and it's the perfect way to sneak some history into your Palm Beach trip without feeling like you're in a classroom. Fun fact: what looks like gold leaf in one room is actually aluminum leaf, which was rarer at the time, then painted with shellac to give it a warmer glow. Very extra, very Flagler. If you have an hour or two to kill, this spot is 100% worth it. The staff are incredibly kind and welcoming, true Southern hospitality in a mansion that feels like a time capsule. read more

Beautiful, informative museum! I had never been to the Flagler Museum before and had no idea what to expect. There are guided tours that go into great detail about the items in each room. We were with a group and our tour was pre-set up by others. As we arrived we were each given a floor plan and an audio tour that had a numbered guide telling you, very clearly, about the room you were viewing. I liked this setup. Each person could go at their own pace, if desired, and in whatever order you chose to view the rooms. The museum was the actual home of Henry Flagler. He was the one individual who was responsible for bringing more people to Florida than anyone else. He built many hotels in Florida, and then brought the railroads in, so that people could travel to and enjoy the exceptional Florida winter weather. At one time this home had even been converted to a 10 story hotel. It has been brought back to its original glory, sitting on an expanse of beautiful waterfront property in Palm Beach. read more

This museum was excellent! You get a chance to learn about Henry Flagler, the founding father of Florida. The house gives you an incredible glimpse into the Gilded Age and the small museum upstairs digs into Henry's history. He made the railroad empire in Florida, but he was also big in the hotel business. The house itself was the family home, then a hotel and now a beautiful museum. Definitely worth a visit! read more

Ever wonder why all of south Florida is named Flagler... come check out the Flagler museum to learn why. This is such a cool spot to check out, especially if you're a local. They offer multiple options to view the museum. You can either do a guided tour which takes place at certain times and typically last about 45 minutes to an hour or you can do a self tour throughout the house. We opted for the tour guide and we learned a lot. Don was great with all of his stories and antidotes and was very helpful and learning more about the Henry Flagler. Honestly, this would be a great activity to do after brunch. Everyone was so friendly and helpful! read more

A wonderful museum with so much FL history! It's currently $26 for admission and parking is free. There is plenty of parking as well. We had asked about the cafe upon entering the museum and we were told how beautiful the location of the cafe was and how yummy it was. We were also given a map and shown where the cafe was. Unfortunately it turns out the cafe is seasonal and was not set up when we actually got to the location. We were offered a free audio tour upon entry as well. I was honestly impressed with the audio and it gave plenty of detail for the majority of the property. I would say fulling taking a tour with the audio and reading everything would take about 2 hours, possibly more if you have a large group. It all depends on your preferred engagement. Every room is beautiful to view and it's well worth the visit! The museum shop has lots of great goodies/souvenirs for every age! read more

I was spending the weekend with my besties in West Palm Beach and we had planned a few activities for the weekend so this museum came up in our conversation. They've been leaving here for 8 years and had never visited this museum so we did and were surprised how big and marvelous this museum was. This is not by any means, a small museum. There are countless rooms filled with art and relics that are just unique and gorgeous, all that in more than just one floor. There's also a gorgeous outside area of the bay and a cute little cafe/restaurant to enjoy food and drinks. We found a stunning path to walk or ride bike with beautiful ocean views so you can make it an active experience as well. The $26 admission is a bargain considering how big this museum is and it's a great activity to enjoy with friends or even as a solo adventurer for that matter. read more

Periodically mind blowing!(if your a fan of that period of art) "Gilded Ages" and I can say the grounds as well as the art and history are worth the price. About $28 per person and about 2 hours to walk through. I'd suggest High tea and reservations if you want a more elegant experience. "Pinky's Out" Any museum is beautiful and creates such relics for us just out of evolution. Please look into this "Standard Oil" friend of the Rothschild's(Them too!) and remember "One's that have, are not always those that care!" Id like to say better things but the oil and petroleum industry supported by the Rockefeller family ruined normal human medical science.... Educate yourself now before they take this down. This museum was incredible! They set a new standard for me as to what a good museum has. I loved the self-guided audio tour and easy-to-follow map. Everything was laid out so well and was very user-friendly. There are also tours every 20min or so if you prefer it over the self-guided ones. The museum itself is beautiful. Visited this past weekend and loved it! I enjoy history and learning about the areas I visit, so it was very interesting to learn more about Mr. Flagler and the impact he made in Florida. The museum is gorgeous! Did you know it was Henry Flagler's gift to his 3rd wife? She just wanted a little cottage by the sea as her wedding present and Mr. Flagler sure delivered! The views, decor, details, artifacts, art and sculptures throught the museum are not only mindblowing but full of history. Parking is free and there is an entrance fee. You can cover the house and grounds in about 2 hours. It is next to the ocean and you can even see Mr. Flagler's first train! Definitely worth it, enjoyable and a history lesson! read more

Enjoyed Founder's Day with my neighbors June 5, 2022. Ever June 5 is a free day to walk the museum. Upon just looking as well... summer months are free for active military and their family. The Flagler Museum is a must visit when in the area. I am born and raised in Palm Beach County, but it had been 20+ years since I had toured the Flagler Museum. So when my husband and I were in town visiting family for the Thanksgiving holiday we decided the Flagler Museum would be a great way to spend the Friday afternoon. I had bought our tickets online about 2 hours prior. We spent about 2 hours touring the museum. We opted for the self guided audio tour. I highly recommend this. Is is very informative and will take your experience to an all new level. The amount of information can be overwhelming but you can pick and choose what topics/rooms you want to listen to. The museum is breathtaking. It is mind-blowing how rich Henry Flagler was back when the house was built. I would definitely recommend the Flagler Museum to anyone who enjoys art or history. However, I would not recommend taking a child as I feel they would lose interest. read more

Whitehall has to be the most beautiful home in Florida. It is lavish, colorful, filled with so much history. I really enjoyed spending the day here and learning so on the audio tour using a hand-held device that is included with your entrance fee. I noticed that they had music on Sundays - someone playing the organ some days and the piano in the music other Sundays. I hope to come back in the future for that. It was fairly empty on Saturday so it was perfect for roaming around and not feeling rushed. read more

I went to tea at the Flagler Museum...food very disappointing.. the desserts tiny one-bite brownie, macaroon ( size of a quarter) the scone was so hard it broke apart in pieces. Tasteless tea... Was and in many ways still is the nicest mansion in Florida built with folly pocket money which includes its own private railway garage rivaling grand central station!!! How else do you roll when you're a green robber baron investing your hard earned money in rail earning 8,000 acres of Florida per mile of track? It's no wonder he went all the way to Key West!! Their brochure says "An absolute must-see" and that's not far off the mark! The building, the furnishings, and the grounds are amazing. We didn't book a tour but were content to wander on our own. The Gilded Age comes to life here. The first floor was primarily to entertain guests, containing the ballroom, billiard room, dining room, music room, and much more. The second floor has multiple bedrooms for both family and guests (a third floor is presently closed off). Don't miss the private railcar and the only remaining cocoanut grove in Palm Beach. read more

Love the history here, it's a fun tour to take, but the kids need to keep quite or you could feel out of place.

I highly recommend visiting the Flagler Museum in Palm Beach. It's a spectacular Gilded Age mansion with incredible architecture and decor. It's $26 for adults and parking is free. They offer a self-guided audio tour as well as a docent-led tour of the first floor several times a day (both options are included in the price of admission). The cafe is seasonal but they do have limited lunch options available in the museum shop that you can eat in the portico or Coconut Grove. read more
