Genuinely such a bad movie theater other than the staff. They'll constantly play older movies, but can't even get the number 1 movie in the country (obsession) to play there or the new movie "the furious" people have been raving about. Actually one of the worst selections for movies and whoever decides what's being played there deserves to lose their job! It's a just a regular Movie Theater but it's usually not that busy. Safe environment for kids and even some video games to keep them occupied while Mom & Dad are in the ticket/concession booth lines which is the only real "bottle neck". Layout is easy to remember in case of fire or other emergency situation. Safe enough environment that I would let my 13 year old son watch movies "alone", which he was really doing with other girls his age. read more

I went in today and the film was providing Spanish subtitles. Since I am 70 years old, that is the first time in my life I went to see an American made film in my own country with Spanish subtitles. As you can imagine this is annoying as I am watching actors speaking in English with subtitles I cannot read. I went to the box office and the manager is giving me a hard time about refunding my cash; instead she wants to give me a free pass. I asserted that they never identified the film with this quirky requirement prior to me buying a ticket; and thus I am under no obligation to accept a free pass. Finally, she relents and refunds my money. I guess Flagship Cinema's is now trying to expand their market share to Spanish speakers thinking they have some sense of entitlement to increase their earnings at the expense of native English speakers. If this is what it is coming to, where profit is sacrosanct and holy to Flagship, the I rarely go to films any longer and you can bet I will not be coming back if this now represents the standard. I posted this above review on google reviews and the owner chimed in accusing me of racism. What follows is my response to his false charges given he or she has no clue of what a racist action entails. Your assertions are non sense. It is pretty clear you are introducing the 'false' charge of 'racism' to enhance your own sense of entitlement; or at the very least an attempt to bully someone into accepting a diminished film experience while stuffing your pockets, by attracting non native English speakers. Let me educated you on the difference: If my complaints were directed at 'banning' Hispanic speakers altogether from entering the theatre, that would accurately be racism. Furthermore, since you charge exorbitant fees for a matinee one holds the presupposition that one not be required to sit through an annoying presentation that is far outside of the main stream of every theatre in the country. As I noted, this is the first time this has happened to me in 65 years of movie going experience. If this had been a foreign film with sub titles I would have had no complaints knowing this going in. Before the re-model I wouldn't have given Flagship a 4* review. Saw a movie and sat in the big red oversized seats, these were super comfy that you feel like you could be home on your own cozy chair. I'll admit I think it's cold at the movies so I bring a small blanket with me. Luckily I didn't fall asleep! I went to see another movie and sat in their other new seats. They are smaller but also comfy. Sooo much better than the old seats. Only complaint is that if you go to a movie at a slow time or day you can stand around for quite a while before seeing someone to buy a ticket. I was waiting for quite a while. read more

This was my first job ever so I have a soft spot for it but...they really need to do some proper investments. 1. The new seats (which are reserved) are designed for reclining. Flagship chose not to have the recline option so they end up being very uncomfortable on your neck. My mom had to sit off to the side like a sullen teenager as she knows this is the only way to prevent it. If they actually had the reclining option they'd be great! 2. They have moved up in the theater world by letting you pour your own fountain drinks, though the tops still come from the people at the concession counter and straws are on the other side of the soda fountain area. 3. The sound is WAY too loud during previews and ads. At least in theater 3, summer 2017 it was. 4. The bathroom is never very clean and has a broken faucet that I remember from when I worked there in the late 90s! All this said, the kids who work there are nice and not paid Much and during the dark time when the strand wasn't around, it was great entertainment. Strand cinema in rockland only shows one movie, usually independent, but it is much nicer and cleaner. It's also very local. read more

Perfectly normal movie theater - not sure why the older reviews are so negative. Maybe they renovated recently? The theaters I've been in have several rows of giant squishy leather seats and are set up with a stadium style incline. Matinee tickets are $7 - which seems absurd when you're visiting from NYC - so it's a good option for a rainy day on vacation. read more

The Flagship cinema in Thomaston, Maine, is disgusting. The headrests on the red 'pleather' seats are all cracked, ripped, and have this gross brown and black stuff in the cracks. For the price you pay for a ticket, you ought to be able to enjoy the movie without the fear of head lice. I washed my hair when I got home. No more movies there for us until the seats at LEAST have covers over the head rests. read more

Went to see a movie. The audio was all messed up. The audio channels were all out of whack. Someone else pointed it out to the staff first and they did nothing. Then I approached them, they did not fix it. I went and brought it up again, and they said there was nothing they could do. This place is absolutely filthy! I just went to a movie and the theater had popcorn all over the floor, candy boxes in the seats and on the floor in the middle of the walk way. The bathrooms were even worse, one of the stall doors wasn't even attached, just hanging there. The lobby was just as bad, popcorn and garbage all over the floor. I guess the three 16 year old girls working there can't be bothered to do any cleaning. They're already to busy gossiping to sell tickets. Disgusting place. Horrible experience. read more

I will echo what everyone else has said and get right to the point: This place has been holding our mid-coast area hostage to a terrible cinema experience since the day it opened. We didn't know then because we didn't have any other multiplex to compare it to. But now we all do, and they should know it. Two days ago I saw the first movie I've seen there in ten years that actually had the surround speakers on. I'm a film professional so I don't say this without a positive knowledge base. Usually they crank up the stereo and hope you won't notice. This is a fact. My hope is this showing is a sign of at least a change in that front. When I see another movie there I'll update this review and let you know. My dream for a long time has been to get wealthy enough to buy this place and bulldoze it to the ground while I laugh and cry and eat a Wasses. Then re-build a smaller, better theatre and remind the community that seeing a movie is a treasured global pastime and not a long slog into a sulfur scented hell that celebrates mediocrity. Maybe 11ish years ago they did some "updates" that included no new seats, no new speakers, no new theaters, and some nautical themed signs. Also, when I was there the other day it was right after opening and the bathroom had just been "cleaned" and yet I found my stall void of TP on both rolls. If the kids working here came in with any passion it has definitely been absorbed by the rank apathy of this theater. read more

Large slushie spiderman cup didn't come with advertised fancy top; also I could taste the chlorine more than the blue raspberry in the slushie. I came with 3 other people but the seats were in groups of 3 so I had to sit alone. usually couples got to movies, but the seating doesn't accommodate that at all. The large tub of popcorn is 1 refill only now. the salt shaker dispensed way too much salt at once and ruined my popcorn. The reflection of the back of the movie screen on the emergency exit was distracting in theater 1 seat D6. Just the fact that the seats are in groups of 3 is enough to deter me from coming back. read more

Wow. I went here on 2/21/15 around 4:00 pm. This place wasn't very busy. We went to see kingsmen, a movie that was fairly new. After purchasing my ticket for a fairly reasonable price. I went over to the concession area to pick up a couple snacks for the movie. There was a younger woman running the stand. Boy was she in a great mood. ( I'm being facetious) she was very unhappy and gave me a bit of attitude while getting me my water, junior mints, and raisinets. She slammed my candy on the counter and wouldn't make eye contact while speaking to me. That stuff drives me crazy... Moving on... I had my movie in theater 4. It was very small! Maybe 30 seats at the most? The smell was horrid. It was a mixture between sweat, paint, and vomit. The chairs were very uncomfortable. My chair was covers in bright blue paint. Which happened to be the same color as the walls... By the way. What is up with the paint!? Yikes. We get it. Primary colors, RED, YELLOW, BLUE, everything! The bathrooms were trashed. It reeked of urine. Toilets were clogged with toilet paper. Empty soap dispensers. Needless to say I soaked my hands in sanitizer. I have a feeling this place may not be here much longer.. read more

The place is very dated. Kinda understandable for a northern out of the way location. Pretty comfy, newer seating it seems but my rating is mostly due to their popcorn and staff. If you're looking for the worst, most tasteless and the oldest popcorn you can find- you came to the right place! Absolutely terrible and disgusting. I've never EVER seen any popcorn being made nor does it ever smell like any has been made. There also almost always seems to be a snotty person behind the register at concessions, almost like they hate being there and are bothered by the fact that they have to wait on you. Vs. the Waterville Flagship theater . This one is dated and the seats ARE HORRIBLE. The staff is way less than perfect with the popcorn and projector skills. They once had the lights on for half the movie and often doesn't have the audio set. I am able to do that. I enjoy there Tuesday free movies from time to time & I have had overall good movie watching experiences. And I have been to "big cities" and seen worse - WAY WORSE. No, they don't have the latest seats and all of that and if that is what you need in order to watch-a-movie then you probably have the money, time and need to go somewhere else and I encourage you to do so. the place has gotten worse, bought refill able popcorn and 2 drinks, daughter wanted fountain water and gave her a dixie cup no cover asked for a small one with cover they don't do any more, thought my husband had my cup and the guy gave me a cup with a cover, so i had my daughter filled it with water, come to find out my husband didn't have one for me asked for a cup couldn't have one they count their cups and we had our cups, this from the manager, so it was ok for me to pay money for 2 sodas, but not get it. Its funny how staff can drink out of the cups and heaven forbid if you got a defective cup you can't have another because they count them.
