I had an autistic child stuck on the tarmac for 3.5 hours, provided with 2oz of water. I asked for some comfort items? No. Snacks? No. When we arrived at the airport they said there would be customer service to greet us and help. That was not the case. The agents were there yes, but they refused aid to each and every member of the flight. I had people without signals yet because they had just arrived in Canada that I was providing help and assistance too. The airline told us we were refueling. That was a lie. They said ok just wait while we get the details and before that could happen the entire flight received text message vouchers for hotel rooms. They refused taxi vouchers and meal vouchers until there was a literal mob, and then they agreed. Except? They gave me someone else's voucher. So much for privacy. The supervisors refused to provide her name, shocking since she clearly knew she was in the wrong. WestJet discriminated against my autistic child tonight, and traumatized her. Lied to me, and the agent at the desk said, and I quote, "not my issue" as I was crying. My WestJet card will be cancelled and likely any and all future travel. They should be ashamed of themselves. I don't even think we will make it home tomorrrow.

I've got two stories about my experience with Air Canada in Winnipeg. The first occurred when I…read moremoved to the city a while back. The other is my recent experience returning to the city after a nearly eight-year absence. Years ago, I had just completed my undergraduate degree. I picked up and moved to Winnipeg in preparation for graduate studies. I had shipped some of my belongings through Air Canada cargo. One of them was my Sony stereo system. I love music. This stereo system was a cube. CD player. Two cassette decks. AM-FM radio. Two speakers. My dad bought it for me during my first year of undergraduate studies. I packed it up in a cardboard box and carefully wrapped it in bubble wrap. I'm not sure what happened. When I picked up it up from the Air Canada cargo building in Winnipeg and brought it back to my new home, the buttons on one of the cassette decks were completely bashed in. The box was in pristine condition. Perhaps it was dropped along the way. I called Air Canada to file a damages report. I got the nicest person at Air Canada who felt bad and said that she'd rectify this situation "as soon as quickly," a phrase that I have never forgotten. I got my stereo fixed at a local Sony-certified store. I then billed Air Canada. I got my refund two weeks later, which was its version of as soon as quickly. This music enthusiast was elated. My stereo continues to endure. I have since attached a record player to it. Last week, I flew in to Winnipeg after 7.5 years. I had no problem retrieving my luggage at the baggage carousel. On Tuesday, I checked in at a kiosk. I had printed out both my baggage tag and boarding pass. A nice male Air Canada agent came over and helped me attach my baggage tag to my one piece of luggage. He also printed out another boarding pass and stuck the baggage receipt to it. It was the nicest gesture. He didn't have to. He just did it like Nike. I thanked him and proceeded to place my luggage on the conveyor belt. Boarding the plane was straightforward. The staff at the gate made sure that you boarded according to your zone number. They were super friendly saying hi, having you scan your boarding pass, and then making sure that your ID matched your face. Air Canada staff on the flight were competent and equally as friendly. Sure, you don't get any free snacks these days, but the man was great getting me a Diet Coke on the rocks. It was a full flight. I was comfortable. We boarded on time. We got to Toronto early. We deplaned efficiently. No complaints. I am likely the oddball who doesn't mind flying or using Air Canada services. It's not a perfect airline, but it does try to make things right, especially when it's at fault. (73)

It wasn't a holiday, but a long journey to visit my parents in Ukraine (three flights, over 24 hours). I notified the company a month in advance and simply asked to change the date, not for a refund. We took Calm Air from Winnipeg, they are a charter plane. The flt was 2.5hrs over to see the polar bears in Church Hill. Honestly we didn't have any issues, everything was booked for us. We arrived, checked in and off we went to see the polar bears! Customer service was good and safey is the most important. They were on time for both our flts. Food wasn't good, but I didn't expect it to be any different. I would use them again if I needed a charter flt thru out Canada. Calm air keep postponing their flight to come here every 2 days since. Not even trying later on the same day or the day after. There was suppose to be a flight this morning coming here but got send somewhere else for some vague reason, saying the reason for the delay today was the weather while in Winnipeg and here in Sanikiluq, the sky is blue, visibility incredible and wind favorable. And all Calm Air flight departed as suppose to this monring from Winnipeg. I want to know where I can make a complain because I already did to Calm Air but complaining to them about them about them won't change anything. Does anyone know where to go to a national level. This situation is not tolerable! If Calm Air cannot provide a service they are pay to provide, then they should let somebody else taking care of it. So not respectful for Nunavut people!
