Starting with the first two minutes of my arrival the vet took my dog from me and sent her to the back where she cried, I explained to him that she only ever cries if she has to go to the bathroom and he gave me an "ok". Second, they NEVER asked to see her vaccination records so I can only imagine the illnesses that are brought in there and let around other animals. Lastly, I picked my dog up at 4 and as soon as I got her in the car I noticed the smell of urine. I then checked her and realized that she had pee on her fur from where I am assuming she peed involuntarily because of the anesthesia and had been laying in it for I don't know how long. This was very concerning for me because you cannot clean your dog after this surgery therefore she had to lay in what I could not remove from her fur without cleaning. VERY DISSAPOINTED WITH MY CHOICE.

TL;DR-while my dog is healthy and beautiful NOW, Bonnie is completely unprofessional and seems emotionally unstable. Deal with someone who knows what they're doing and won't harass you. I found this breeder online through postings on nextdaypets.com. We corresponded until my little boy puppy was ready to come home. I put an electronic deposit (via paypal, $300) down on him, and set a date to meet. In between she was friendly, responsive, and no red flags were seen. Closer to his pickup date, I started to get strange and conflicting information in regards to his health, the veterinarian she used, as well as several small things of no consequence. We arranged to meet in the Wal-Mart parking lot of Sedalia. In the interest of not carrying a large amount of cash to meet a stranger, and also having a receipt for my puppy due to the conflicting information on his health-I provided the remaining cost ($1000) via Money Order from Bank of America (a cashier's check has a higher fee and the max on a money order is 1k). She was upset I didn't bring her cash, though she didn't specify, pretended to not know what a money order was and questioned it's validity-despite it being from my bank. I found this strange because she initially offered to take the puppy's deposit via PayPal or MoneyGram (a WalMart money order.) She sent the puppy home on medicine-that she could not describe to me, had no pill bottle and later I found she inaccurately instructed me on both dosage and frequency. He did come with a vaccination record. I spent the entire night up with him, as expected. After I finally got some sleep and realized my phone had died-I plugged it in to find I had several missed text messages and a very rude voicemail all from her. The texts started inquiring about the puppy and turned into rambling thoughts such as "I don't like this..." The voicemail was her yelling, saying that I "showed up with some weird check" and "now I won't answer my phone." I sent a text back as my lack of sleep reflected how much patience I had at that point as well. I explained my phone was dead from being up all night, that I provided her certified funds that she would have no trouble with the money and that I felt unsafe carrying large amounts of undocumented cash for our transaction-also that I was offended by her texts and voicemail. She apologized and asked that we keep her up to date on him. At that point, I felt our business was complete and I didn't have any interest in maintaining a relationship with her. I took my little boy puppy to the vet and he had a UTI and Coccidia. He went home with three prescriptions. I informed her, but got no response. I assume all the other puppies had this as well. The medicine she sent with me is used to treat Giardia-which he didn't test positive for at that time. Other than that he has good eyes, a good tail no apparent congenital defects of any kind. Three weeks later she requested additional information for "paperwork" from me. My name (which she should have...) address, driver's license, and two phone numbers. I don't know if I received that text by mistake or not because she never responded when I asked what this was for exactly. She admitted to me when we met she was inexperienced in breeding (can't remember if it was specific to Frenchies or in general). The puppy is now 9 months old and is precious. He's got very sensitive skin, and a small amount of nostril pinching (which I hear is common) but he has a great personality, is very healthy and of the taller/leaner body type of most Frenchies. He's absolutely gorgeous and very loved-worth all the trouble, but I will not recommend nor do business with Bonnie from My Puppy Haven ever again.

With my concerns about bad breeders and puppy mill scams, I researched and found Bonnie Swopes, She was professional and personable. She was prompt returning my text and calls, knowledgeable and reassuring with any questions I had. Bonnie handled everything and made the shipping stress free by explaining the procedure and included all paperwork. She sent pictures, and updates daily of my puppy "Capone" , and really made it feel personal. I picked him up on Feb 21, and he is beautiful! Bright eyes, shiny coat, and smelled clean. He was happy, sweet, and unafraid even after traveling in a crate since the night before! It was obvious he was held and played with daily, making his transition to his new family easy. Bought 5 gallon tank from this place because i wanted too buy 2 little golfishes for, it, first day…read morethey refused sale too me because im 17 and i have too be 18. Next day i show up with my parents too buy 2 little fishes...... When i ask the worker too pack me the 2 fishes she refuses too sell me them because she says the 5 gallon tank is not enough and i need too buy a 50 gallon tank while they have 25 fishes in a 3 gallon tank swimming on display, and they do just fine .... Doesn't make sense too me. If you can go too some local store instead of this place you definitely should.
