If I could give ZERO stars, I would. Stay far away from Myra Fleischer if you value your children and your sanity. She is one of the most money-hungry attorneys I've ever come across, using our broken family court system to traffic children under the guise of "parental alienation"--a junk science that isn't even recognized in the DSM. Back in 2021, she recommended a reunification camp for my children--programs so harmful that California has now banned them under SB331 (Piqui's Law). Thanks to her reckless advice and lack of integrity, I have not seen my son in over 4 years, and my relationship with my kids has been permanently damaged. My oldest daughter just turned 18, and I will never get back those lost years. Myra's true focus is on billing. She will run up your legal fees to astronomical levels while showing zero compassion or accountability for the lifelong harm she causes. She does not care about families, children, or justice--only about her bottom line. If you are considering hiring her, I urge you to protect your family and look elsewhere. First, this firm's rates are twice the going rate. I foolishly believed that this would get me the best representation. In fact, we were crushed by my ex's attorney charging a third as much in total fees. Some of my friends who are also clients have run up fees of hundreds of thousands of dollars without anything to show for it. Myra is thin skinned and will not tolerate any questions about strategy, fees or efficiency about handling the case. Further, she will not estimate the costs involved for even simple work. I got no guidance on my case or the range of outcomes I could expect. Just bills. She justifies this by stating how long she has been practicing rather than citing client successes. Run away! She overbills, she misleads you and she will take every single penny from you. She does not care about your case and what is the outcome as long as she gets her money. She got me thrown in the streets with three children and she sat there and did not even argue. She did not even call me after the hearing to ask me if I am ok or not. She will make you file and file just to make money out of you. She advised me to appeal and hire an appeal attorney which was another $10K and I lost the appeal because the judge said she never argued the decision. She never communicated with me, all she did is make me feel guilty instead of defending me from my narcissist ex. She shows up in court and she just sits and says nothing while the other counsel trashes you. She represented me in a civil case and the judge had to tell her how to ask questions because she did not know how to. I had anxiety every time I open the emails from her firm because of the over billing. I had spent over $60K with her firm plus $240K over a settlement and then she had the audacity to tell me that her firm did not make any money with me. It was checkmate before the other side even made their first move. Yes, I will admit that Myra Fleischer is on the upper level of legal hourly rates, but, at the same time, she is a winner and would never even consider taking on your case unless she new you has one. Lastly, My recommendation to any family seeking divorce: Do not divorce! Sleep in separate rooms, divide up the assets among your children, seek counseling; do not divorce! In my opinion she doesn't even deserve one star, but it's required. I was very naive to the divorce world and looked for someone who was professional and specialized in high asset cases. I counted on Myra and her firm to guide me through the process which never happened, and when I asked questions, she was always dismissive, short and demeaning in her delivery. I often felt helpless, and felt it was more important for her to bill me than support me. I paid 10's of thousands of dollars to her firm to fight for me, but when it came down to it, she misled me into believing that I would get a fair settlement, but then sat quietly and left me to fend for myself during mediation, leaving me with much less than expected. She then demanded immediate payment of the balance of her attorney fees to be paid by the end of the day, after agreeing to a payment plan, and then abruptly withdrew as my attorney of record. Rip off artist. It's the 1st time I've ever heard the term 'Divorce Mill'. She absolutely refused to address any of the questions i had on billing and in the most critical part of my case dumped my case and me on my head. End result was that it had a devastating effect with custody and time with my children. She ended up suing me in small claims court for bills revolving around emails where I was questioning the billing. She has multiple cases where people have filed and gone through fee disputes with local bar association. She's a heartless woman who does not care at all about what sits at the base of family law ~ the children. At the end of the day, that's all I cared about and I got royally screwed. I tried to get my ex to settle our case without lawyers since we had such of an easy case but she lawyered up which forced me to do also. I interviewed several lawyers and all I seemed to get was sales pitches and chest beating and obvious empty promises. I had sent a brief background to each so our time together would be optimum and I am sure none even read the info. Most barely even asked me questions they just talked. I finally found Sarah at Fleischer & Ravreby through a friend of a friend of a friend. She was professional from the first moment. She looks young but I could tell she was extremely intelligent, even keeled emotionally and no-nonsense. She actually read my background before I arrived and listened intently while taking notes after asking many discovery questions. She then gave me the run down of how she saw it working out and what tactics to use. She also gave me the best and worst case scenarios which gave me hope and also how to prepare for worst. She did the entire process which I felt was truly professional versus only blowing smoke. The best case scenario had me paying some alimony and some child support - which I wuld have no problem with if it were warranted. Child support should have been nullified but my ex claims to have our son more - I have him 70% of the time. The big problem was my ex is self-employed and makes the same money as I do but doesn't show on paper. Sarah recommended an occupational assessment and said it would be costly but worth it in the long run. I trusted her so I did it. When we finally went to court, it was like Ronda Rousey versus Pee Wee Herman. Sarah walked in with a file the size of 2 cinder blocks while the opposition had a spiral notebook. The Judge clearly read each case file beforehand and our file was obviously precise and direct while theirs was obviously nearly non-existent. Her fumbled around at each question while Sarah was direct and prepared. Cut to the end - we walked out into the parking lot afterwards and both had smiles from cheek to cheek. I did have to pay support - $19 per month! (Yes Nineteen). I could not believe it! We both had no idea it would be that good. You can shop around for price and you will get different answers - nobody truly knows because you cannot predict the opposition. But if you are going to pay someone, make sure they do the job engaged completely. Sarah answered all of my calls and emails and questions right away. She kept me informed but also made sure to optimize time as she was sensitive to keeping the bill down. Although she had many cases, she made me feel like I was her only case. She was so well prepared and strategic for court probably over-prepared just in case. And I couldn't be happier with the results. Look no further - Sarah is your best choice. read more

This was probably the biggest and most life changing mistake I've ever made when choosing to use this firm. At first, the "senior" partner makes you feel that she will go to the ends of the earth to make your case favorable and that she'll fight for you. And after having wasted $7500 on a previous attorney that amounted to nothing, this attorney made us feel that she was the answer. But, it was another typical sales pitch when in the end, when the retainer ran dry, dumped us onto the curb and forced us to fend for ourselves. And after reviewing the file that they created, we found out that half of the motions that they claimed to have filed were in fact just "drafts". And instead of the senior partner working on the case as she claimed she would do, had in fact passed everything down to a half-dozen different amateur paralegals to work on. Communication was horrendous and actually getting a hold of anyone to talk to about the case was near impossible, if you could even figure out which paralegal was working on it that particular week. When we reviewed the billing we found items that we were being charged for that were never performed. In the end, we lost custody of the child and lost the restraining order hearing because of the lack of action by this firm. Heartbreaking to say the least. We had to appear "Pro Se" without any legal representation, of which we paid for as part of the retainer, and had to fight in a trial against a represented opponent. We lost out little girl and this firm is the direct cause. We awaited 10 months for our day in court and just 3 weeks before that day, this firm told us we'd have to pay an additional $10,000 for the actual appearance. Just another shady law firm represented by another shady attorney. Avoid these horrible people at all costs or you too could lose more than just money, you could lose what you're fighting for as we did. Shame on you for acting like you're "1 of the tribe" and then turning your back on your own kind. read more

This attorney is the worst rip off in the business, She tried to charge me $10600.00 for one and a half months of her representing me, didn't get anything done, never went to court for the reason I retained her and then I was forced to tell her that she couldn't defend me anymore because she was too expensive, she went through my retainer with in three weeks, not to mention I didn't get any results in court negatve or positve, nothing ever happened! I took the matter to state bar and instead I only owed her $1000.00 and not $5600.00 which she was threatening to take me to small claims court to get! State bar determined that she was grossly over charging me and basiclly told her to get realistic about her practices. She was charging me $175 per hour to make photo copies and charging me professional services fees for secratary work. I learned my lesson with dealing with attorneys and next time I will have a legal service go over contracts.
