I shared this with her and without missing a beat, Marilyn said "No wedding is the same, but we do this kind of thing all the time." I didn't need to give her much direction. Within minutes, she had created a sample tablescape using the unique pieces in her highly curated, vintage collection. It was like she had read my mind. Marilyn just GETS it. Most florists will put together basic, cookie-cutter arrangements and centerpieces, but Marilyn is NOT like most florists. She does not put you in a box and she has incredible range and impeccable taste. She'll respect your vision, but she's not afraid to share her opinion and advise you so that your event is elegant and beautiful, which is refreshing. Aside from sharing my Pinterest board and general moodboard with Marilyn, I didn't have to do much. She respected my budget, kept me informed throughout, and was flexible when I had changes here and there. When I arrived at my wedding, I was blown away. I had high expectations, but she surpassed them a million times over. She is a creative genius. The photos I'm attaching (some professional, some from phone cameras) don't even begin to do her work justice. There were dozens of vendors of all things bridal. They had booth after booth of photographers, venues, honeymoon resorts, caterers, flower designers, etc. There was a fashion show by David's bridal, but we didn't stay for that. While we were walking around, we were served some delicious hot bites, wine and champagne. There were a number of drawings to be held all day, including one for an exotic honeymoon. There were a few negatives. It was really crowded and the rows of vendors were so close together that you had trouble seeing everything. We saw one man in a wheelchair that was just starting towards the entrance. I'm sure that he had to turn around and go back. They really needed more room. I was surprised to see only one bridal shop showing gowns, maybe this function is more for the "extras" involved in planning the ceremony. I also didn't see any cake designers, which seemed a bit odd. But overall, is was a good expo and worth attending if you're planning you're big event.
