I had the pleasure of coming to this place August 21 for a birthday massage and I can't tell you how happy I am to have found this place. It's very cozy and welcoming inside and the staff were very polite and cheery which always helps when you're trying out a new place for the first time. My massage was with Kassidy and her hands worked magic. We did a 1hr relaxation massage and it flew by so fast. The room was nice and large, the lighting was perfect, so was the music. Not sure was massage oil she used on me but it smelled amazing and not like your typical peppermint oil most places use. They also accept benefits if you have them. It's very close to the Costco in Sherwood Park and has tons of parking. They follow the COVID protocols and are super clean. August 30- I had the pleasure of coming back to try out some float therapy for me and my partner and it was super cool, both a first for us. The staff did an amazing job of going over everything for us. You're placed in your own single room with your pod, no need for a bathing suit because you go in your birthday suit! You shower and rinse off before going into the pod, they have showers fully stocked with shampoo and body wash. The pod has the options of blue light, multi Color light or no light, it's filled with tons of salt so you float so be warned you will feel slippery and do not get the water on your face or in your eyes (if you do they have a fresh water bottle to spray your face off). TIPS: They will offer you Vaseline to put over any cuts so you aren't stung by the salt water but I HIGHLY recommend you apply that to armpits or any other area you may have just shaved or waxed if you know what I mean. I'd also suggest you put Vaseline on any cracks you have such as eczema. As cool as it was the salt water really irritated my eczema and made my skin itch, also suggest you get the firm ear plugs they'll offer you and not the soft ones as they fell out repeatedly. WISHES: I really wish that the water could have been a tad warm/hotter. Would also be cool if you could do 30 or 45 minute sessions- I know it's an hour so you can meditate and relax but even a 45 min session woulda sufficed. It would also be cool if you had the option to play spa music or a noise machine in your pod to wind down instead of going straight into silence (music will come on 3 minutes before you session is over to let you know you're about to finish). read more

I was the recipient of an unexpected gift of float by my love, and I have e to say this was an amazing experience. The lobby has a nice relaxing atmosphere when you come in, and you are offered a pair of freshly cleaned sandles to wear. The attendant was very welcoming and explained the process, as well as offers a iPad that gives details of instructions and a bitnof what you can expect during your visit. The room you are assigned is clean with a fresh towel and ear plugs set aside for you. There is a shower to clean yourself before and after the salt water soak. The salt water soak itself is super relaxing (as long as you are not claustrophobic). It is a fairly large tub, big enough to stretch arms and legs out fully. You have control of the light in the tub, and there is an emergency button for just in case (but doubtful it would be needed). The water is super salty, so you naturally float on the surface, which makes it so you feel completely weightless. If you are into meditation, this is a great place to go for exactly that; as it blocks out all sound and light, which gives you a fully immersive experience of focusing inward. During my float I was able to focus on troubled muscles, and was actually able to relieve a fair amount of aches, just by slowly moving and rotating arms, shoulders, and legs in the water. I'd been wanting to experience "floating" for a while so I decided to take the plunge (no pun intended). I have anxiety and ADHD and thought it would be very difficult to get to a state of relaxation. I searched around for good reviews and an affordable price and Float Wellness was the front comer. Making a reservation here was super easy, with online reservations and payment it made for easy check-in. It allowed you to book in advance and even bank floats for a later date. Which really comes in handy when you've found a great deal or float package. Upon arrival we were greeted by the studio owner Lara. Her calm demeanour and warm welcome made my slight anxiety of this new experience drift away. She gave us with a quick power point presentation on an iPad about the dos and don'ts and guided us to the float pod for review. I never felt rushed, you're on float time here! After a go over of the house rules I was left to get ready for my float! Float Wellness only offers 90 min floats, which I couldn't imagine floating for any less. Upon entering the tank you're guided with soft music which slowly goes to silence in about 10 mins. You have the option to have soft lighting, or complete darkness. I recommend complete darkness once you're comfortable. It took me about 20-30 mins to get to the state of relaxation. My first experience was a little bit of everything! Being isolated with only your thoughts isn't as calming as one would think, but once you get the hang of it you really do benefit! I'm not sure if I fell asleep or not, but I was in a very relaxed state. About 5 mins before your float comes to an end you're gently woken by the same soft music, a nice way to be guided back to reality. Noteworthy... -Float in the nude, less distractions! -Do not touch your face, the water will burn your eyes! Take advantage of the spray bottle if you do get the float water in your eyes. -Try different body positions, my choice was hands behind my head. -Use the earplugs! -Keep the tank door closed, it keeps the heat in -Don't nap before, and no caffeine before either; it's too stimulating. -You will notice every ache your body may have, this is normal. -Lay back and enjoy! read more

My wife had mentioned to me how much I needed to find a way to shut my brain off for a bit and reboot. My reply was "that's what I do when I sleep" but then she pointed out how little I sleep and how even when I do it is quite often a broken sleep. "No worries" I said, "I have been doing this for 46 years why would I need to change it now" She suggested something called floating, I told her "honey, you know drugs are not my thing' knowing full well that was not what she meant. This summer she had taken a month and dedicated it to try different things such as exercises, massages, therapies of all kinds in a search for what worked for her. One of the things she found was something called Float Therapy. It sounds odd doesn't it. They put you into a tank filled with water that is loaded with Epsom Salt and you close the lid on yourself for 90 minutes. This to me sounded insane, not that you would close yourself in a water filled coffin, but more that you would willingly give up 90 minutes of your life like that! Turns out there is actual science behind this, it's not all voodoo smoke and mirrors stuff. Regular flotation tank sessions can relieve chronic stress-related ailments. Conditions such as anxiety, stress, depression and fibromyalgia will find noticeable improvements. I know how stressful my wife's job can be and I figured if this is what she recommended to me after all the research she had done I would be a fool not to at least try it. So I went to this place in Sherwood Park we have called Float Wellness to try for myself and see what it's about. Well, as she is more often than not, she was right (don't tell her that). My experience at first was that of mass confusion not knowing how to relax was a huge deficit to me here. But time was on my side, about 10 minutes in I found myself actually tuning out, I had no place to be, I had no work to do, I did not even have a my iPhone to use, talk about torture. Turns out it wasn't torture at all but rather a feeling of calmness. I was not feeling the need to message or tweet or make a post on Facebook, it was just me alone with nothing to do. The lack of stimulation is exactly what the doctor ordered. I would recommend this for anyone out there who struggles with letting things go, take a float you won't regret it. I would like to add to the great reviews for Float Wellness. I've been to a float in Calgary before so I was aware of the process. In fact, almost everything was quite similar. Upon checking in with the front desk, you watch a slide show with the rules and policies of the Center. The staff will show you to your room which has a pod, stand up shower, bench, hooks, ear plugs, towels, make up remover, bulb syringe (for ears), petroleum jelly (to seal any small scrapes and nicks)and shower amenities. After a cleansing shower, you get into the pod (in your birthday suit) and you can float in the darkness or with some coloured lights. There is music for the first 10 minutes and last ten minutes (the signal that your time is up and to get up and shower before they turn on the filtration cycle). In the pod is also a pool noodle or a neck pillow to support your head in the water. I used it about half the time and my husband really liked the neck pillow. It's easy to fall asleep in the pod. There is no light, the water is body temperature and you're not meant to feel it but I do a little, especially on areas that are not submerged. A few ticks: I wasn't able to turn off the lights in my room so it showed through the pod at the opening since the pod does not seal. I would have liked a switch inside the room to turn it off before getting in. The ear plugs provided are your regular foam variety. I would have preferred the wax type which is specifically meant for underwater activities. Due to this, my ears didn't get a great seal and they hurt which lessened the relaxation effect for me. I was constantly thinking about my ears. Overall, I had a great experience. There are a few areas where improvements could be made but I would certainly come back. And ill remember to bring my own ear plugs next time. read more

I booked a float with my friend to help ease my back pain from a car accident. This place has such a relaxing atmosphere and staff are lovely! The tanks are huuuge which was awesome because I am claustrophobic but there was so much room inside to float around and I'm 5'9"! I enjoyed my 90 minute float although I wish I'd checked to see if they do shorter floats as my attention span is super short and I ended up getting antsy and thinking about work...next time I'll definitely try to relax fully and really let myself be immersed in the experience! read more

I'm from British Columbia and have floated once before in Vancouver. I enjoyed it so, when on holidays this summer I decided to try it again by a different owner, to see if there was a difference. I actually liked this experience more, first the pods where bigger as were the rooms. The instruction was clear and helpful which made me feel at ease. I felt invigorated by the float even though I had completed a 7 km run before it. Loved Float Wellness, $20 less than in Vancouver !!!! I knew it would be relaxing, rather like having a nice warm bath. However, this was a whole different experience! The tank was large (I'm six feet tall and it was roomy for me) and it really was like being weightless. It took a few minutes for my body to realize that it could totally relax, but when I did...bliss! I actually fell asleep at one point. I floated several hours ago and I'm still totally relaxed, and my back feels fantastic! I will definitely be floating again. Very tranquil place. The staff is well informed and make you feel comfortable and confident before going into your float. The pods and rooms are very well taken care of and clean! They also have Registered massage therapists. If you have a few hours, I recommend floating and following it up with a massage right after, you'll leave feeling completely relaxed and renewed. They also welcome you to stay afterwards and enjoy a cup of tea and maybe even read a book from their little library. read more
