He was honest about potential issues with matching the existing tile due to dye lots and variations in color etc. I was so happy when he was able to obtain a sample and it looked close enough to move forward. Ragged edges by molding, shredded cuts around doorways, hacked trimming around closet organizers. Mismatched pieces. Not enough carpet. The same installers returned two weeks later with sufficient carpet but could not repair the badly cut areas. Oh, and did I mention that we had to pay in full before the installers would bring in the carpet? Save yourself the aggravation and use a local floor company. If you are carpeting a rental property that you know will get beat up, this company is definitely cheap, so may be something to consider. Never use them in your own home. read more

they left one closet unfinished. Meanwhile I verified several times that all closets all areas were included and I was assured that they were. Then they run out of flooring and tell me that one small bedroom closet a 4 x 3 wasn't on the floor plan. The original flooring was already pulled up, the underlayment put there and the baseboard cut to fit, but no flooring put there. Now they're expecting me to pay for their mistake, and will be wasting my time for a second trip to install. Not happy! read more

Very wonderful experience with this company. We decided that it was time to do the floors in our home. We went to a few places to compare product and cost, and this was our best option by far. They have such a wide variety of items to choose from, and they were very flexible with the price for us. Eric was wonderful to work with and was very attentive through phone and email to help with any questions we had. Once the product was purchased, they had an install date for 2 weeks from the purchase date which was very reasonable. They use a third party for the installation. Gigi Duarte with Brazilian Best Tile & Marble was amazing!!! Her daughter Lulu and she were so attentive to our needs and wants and were very open with communication. We had 1 or 2 unplanned things happen when the old tile was being taken up, and because we didn't expect it, she did not charge us for the added labor. Her crew worked so hard for 5 days, transforming this home into something quite special and beautiful. I cannot recommend these companies more. Last year I purchased flooring from Floors Direct. My sales man was Bill Wallace and he sold me 500 sq ft at $12/sq ft totaling $6,800 Last week I went back to Floors Direct to purchase additional 230sqf and 9 stair nose moldings of the same product. Bill quoted me $3800 and told me that there was an increase in cost for the product. I showed two different quotes of the same flooring from competitive retailers and asked him if he can match it or at least come down on price. His reply was very dismissive: "good luck buying your product online... I hope you get what you are paying for." Well, I'm glad I decided to purchase somewhere else. The product is the same, carries manufacturing warrantee, and best of all I saved $856. I was disappointed at the lack of appreciation for a repeat customer, but in reality, I was charged a premium and overpaid by $1800 on my initial purchase. Their motto is "quality flooring at the lowest, bottom line price" I guess not ... Lesson learned. read more

They promised a complete job saying, "you won't even notice we where here except in 4 days you'll have brand new floors!" Now, I understand things happen and have given this company a chance to fix them but it's been about three weeks now and I still have an incomplete job. When they were "done" my house was COVERED in dust, they didn't cover anything. (They made a show of covering things but didn't actually do it.) They finally took $150 off the final bill and sent a cleaner who charged me $200. They left my toilet in the middle of the floor and took $60 off the bill. (Anyone out there can guess that a plumber is going to cost more than $60!) They broke my ceiling light in the living room. We paid them to remove three appliances (stove, refrigerator, and dishwasher) and tile under them and when the installer arrived they just refused to remove the dishwasher and tile under it. We showed them on the bill where we paid for it and they just refused. We actually wanted to remove and reinstall the baseboards ourselves due to some other home renovation work but they decided that also applied to the kick boards on the kitchen and just summarily refused to do them. This is tricky because they actually need to be recut to a different size so we specifically made sure ahead of time that they would do the kick boards in the kitchen and we would take care of the rest. And finally - we left carpet in our bedrooms and they didn't finish the edge - just left the carpet laying over the top of the unfinished edge of the tile that buts up next to it. The floors are not the same height anymore so it is a specific job to put in shims under the carpet and level it off and finish the edge and they just didn't do it. We've talked to them about all this (except the broken lamp because we didn't notice right away until glass fell on us) and they claim they will fix some of it (not all! There's really nothing they can do about the tile under the dishwasher apparently) but to date they just...haven't. We've pursued them to fix things and have had dates scheduled where a repair person is supposed to arrive and nobody has shown up. So, I know things happen but this is an example of buyer beware! read more

Have used this company twice and have been satisfied both times. About a year ago went in to purchase carpet for a Master bedroom. The salesperson was very helpful explaining the different grades of carpeting and padding. We chose a high quality carpet (you get what you pay for). The carpet was ordered and within a week it came in. A few days later it was installed. Installation went smoothly and efficiently. Just about a month ago we noticed a ripple in the carpet. Called Floors Direct and within a week the carpet installers came and fixed the problem at no charge. Just last week we went back and ordered carpet for two other rooms and it was installed today. Review business and industry standards of the product before purchase and obtain, in writing, the business' guarantee to resolve complaints in a timely manner. Maintain your own timeline of any issues with product purchased, communication with business and their follow through. As you can tell from the business response, Mr. Bearden will attempt to drag this out to the point that you give up on your complaint. My wife and I have finally finished every room in our home using Floors Direct. A process that involved three separate jobs over eighteen months. The men in the store Chuck and Woody were excellent to deal with from start to finish and picked up the phone every time we called with a question or request. The gentleman that came to our home for the measure Bill is wonderful personable and professional. His precision measurement left no waste at all and he gave us some valuable installation design ideas. Our kitchens old tile had to be removed and our installer that we were lucky enough to use Henry tapes from floor to ceiling to eliminate the dust traveling into our home.
