I really enjoyed our time in Florence! It's just lovely! My favorite part of Florence was the market, Mercato Centrale (and the lovely cheeses we got there along with doing a balsamic vinegar tasting and buying limoncello), the basilicas, and the Duomo, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore!
You really could spend an entire day at the market! There you can enjoy pizza, baked goods, breads, cookies, cheeses, pasta, truffles, beer, wine, fish, meats, cold cuts, burgers, meatballs, American barbecue, and more, and you can even take cooking classes at the De' Medici Cooking School!
Visiting the Basilica of Santa Croce, and seeing the tombs of Michelangelo, Galileo, Machiavelli and more was incredible! It was cool to see the replica of David and other statues at the Piazza della Signoria.
Given the opportunity, you really should visit Florence! Do be aware that pickpocketing is a real thing in all of Italy and prepare accordingly. read more
