We took our son for a vision examination on February 22 ant 3:30 in the afternoon. His eyes are healthy and he did not need a prescription. After the conclusion of the eye exam his mom asked about blue block lens for his time on the computer. One thing leads to another and Flores Optometry ordered him a pair of glasses with blue block lenses and an eye glass prescription. The next morning my wife called Flores Optometry to cancel the eyeglass order. They told her it is to late to cancel the order. Keep in mind this call was placed first thing in the morning. I than call the office and explain to them that we don't need blue block glasses with a prescription since the font on a computer could be increased. They tell me they can't cancel the order unless VSP Insurance authorizes the cancellation. The office gives me the number to VSP. I call VSP and asked about the ability cancel an eyeglass order with the prescription order. VSP tells me that it could be cancelled. I told VSP what Flores told us. VSP put me on hold and calls Flores and lets them know about the cancel request. VSP comes back to me and told me the order was cancelled. Today I get a call that the glasses are in. I called Flores and reminded them that the glass order was cancelled. I ended up speaking to Vanessa from Flores Optometry. I explained to her that we canceled the order because we only needed blue block lenses and did to need a prescription. And since they were making the order with a prescription is the reason we were canceling the order. Keep in mind my son did not need a prescription. Vanessa told me the only way insurance will pay for glasses with blue block is if they have a prescription. I tell her that it's ridiculous for my son to have blue block glasses with a prescription and that is why we canceled. He response was it was to late to cancel the order. I would not recommend using Flores Optometry. They will put pressure on you to buy something that you do not need. I am only giving one star because I don't have the option to give them zero star read more

i was in a panic when i realized i had to get insurance through my employer since i was going to kaiser for all my life. through anthem, i was able to find Dr. Lam who is working at Flores Optometry. Dr. Lam was very great, very concerned and i felt as if i was heard and being understood. usually at kaiser, it would feel like they're just trying to rush me out. but they took their time with me here. and shout out to Jessica for her assistance as well! she helped me pick out some frames! homegirl knows her styles! she also helped me i guess take some tests before i had to see Dr. Lam, which she was also patient with me and was very personable which made conversation so much easier. it's very great to see WOC as i honestly haven't seen it much especially in optometry. thank you guys for being so caring and just having an awesome staff! i look forward to getting my eyes checked again in the future. read more

Do not go here!!! I took my prescription for glasses in to get new glasses. The prescription was written by my ophthalmologist who is an MD. They tried to make my glasses twice. Could not see at all. So then they told me I had to have an exam by their optometrist who is NOT an MD) as they were sure my MD had made a mistake So ok I did it. I am a senior and a cash patient. I had already paid my MD and now had to pay for another exam. Also I had paid $813 in full for the glasses. The third set of glasses were worse than the first 2 and this was the prescription written by their own optometrist!!!!! Total incompetence but they did refund all my money. They also wasted several months of my time . I went to Bell Optomotry. I had a very experienced clinician and got my glasses 2 weeks later. No extra exams needed either. read more

TL;DR: Service is subpar for price. Got recommended expensive glasses that don't work properly, focus poorly, cause me to see double. This place isn't bad. It's a step up from Costco Optometry (but a lot more expensive), but a step below just about every other optometrist shop I've visited. Service was surprisingly slow. I've waited longer here with an appointment than at Costco without an appointment. On occasion, they had me sitting around for 20 minutes at a time wondering if I had been forgotten. The staff are nice, but that's pretty much the same at every optometry shop I've been. (I've come across opticians that have been as nice as boutique dentists.) For the price I was paying, I expected better. The main problems was that the expensive pair of glasses I was recommended were by far THE WORST GLASSES I'VE EVER WORN, and I've owned ~8 pairs in my lifetime. In fact, I stopped wearing the ones I bought here 2 months after I received them. They only focus correctly when I look through them while tilting my head about 30-degrees higher than the object I'm viewing. So if I want to look at your face when speaking a meter away, I actually have to point my head at an invisible spot about 2 feet above your head. Otherwise, you'd look blurry. Only the bottom 1/3 of the giant glasses are usable. Also, everything that was orange-red color was shifted slightly so that it would give an unnatural and dizzy 3D glasses effect. On the positive side, Dr. Flores' skills are exemplary. She was able to detect an issue with my eyes that I didn't realize I had before. Unfortunately, that doesn't make up for the fact I ended up buying a poorly-designed, expensive pair of glasses I didn't actually need. Or that service was below average. Update: After this horrible experience, I decided to get LASIK/PRK surgery. Hopefully, that means no more glasses for the next 15-20 years. read more

Located near Peet's, I like to go for a coffee run before getting my eye exam. I have been to Flores Optometry three times now. Each time I return, a friendly receptionist has greeted me and spent less time getting me prepared for Dr. Flores to perform my evaluation. I want to emphasize most eye facilities that I have been to in the past aren't nearly as clean as this location. The receptionist and Dr. Flores does a good job keeping equipment clean. You can see the team sanitizing equipment after each use. It is a big plus for me, especially with Hep. B, C and A's transmitting airborne and germs lurking everywhere. For frame selections, my opinion is that they carry a small selection than what I'd like, but maybe I'm only saying this because I'm a picky customer. Despite of the small selection, they carry a wide selection of brand names, including Flexon frames. Flores Optometry is overall prompt in service, has clean equipment, and carries a decent amount of frames. I believe choosing the right pair of glasses is like committing to a long relationship, you will not be disappointed if you commit to Flores Optometry as your go to place for eyewear. read more
