Amazing experience! I strongly recommend Florida Beach Horses! They use rescue horses as well as care for retired rescue horses. Their horses are wonderful and fun. My husband was able to join us this time as they have horses that can carry individuals over 220 lbs. I was able to canter down the beach. The guides were fantastic and kind. The guide working with my nephew who is on the spectrum was so patient with him and he had a blast! I really appreciate the professionalism and care the guides took with everyone. Each rider and horse has their own guide so be sure to bring enough cash to tip each guide in your party. Since each rider will have their own guide you can be at ease and feel very comfortable. I loved being in the water with the horses. They allow you to go in the water bareback and perform different activities in the water with your horse. It was an unforgettable experience for my entire party, even the ones that had concerns about doing it at first. Everyone was very impressed! I would definitely recommend Florida Beach Horses over C-ponies. While we were out in the water we saw the C-ponies and they were in their saddles following each other in the water. They did not take their saddles off and the riders did not have the option to get in the water with the horses. read more

Staff is helpful, friendly, and safety conscious. The Sand and Surf ride combines a walk along the beach with swimming on horseback. Palma Sola Bay was calm, warm, and salty. Horses are experienced and seem to enjoy their job. Swimming includes an opportunity to stand on the horse's back, hold the horse's tail to ski around the bay, and swim for short periods in deeper water. Horses were playful, often blowing bubbles, or offering a silly pose for the camera. No riding experience is required. Each horse/rider is accompanied by a guide on the beach and in the bay. I rode a palomino named Buddy. The guide has control of the horse at all times so the rider can enjoy the experience. Hana, my guide, was friendly and encouraging. This was such an incredible and fun experience. I rode horses when I was younger, but had not ridden in years. It wasn't an issue at all because the guides with Florida Beach Horses were so patient and helpful. They made the whole experience so enjoyable and stress-free. My guide Ava and my mom's guide Rita were especially fantastic. Our horses were picked for us based on our riding experience and this too was perfect. My horse Wahu and my mom's horse Konga were just right for us. All the horses are rescues, which makes the whole experience that much more meaningful. And once the horses are no longer up to the beach rides, they are retired and cared for by the company, supported by the funds raised on the rides. While there are other beach rides out there, the mission of this company inspired me to go with them, and I'm so glad I did. I encourage anyone reading this to do the same. READ THIS!!! Florida Beach Horses was so fun!!! There are so many fun activities that your guide allows you to do. I was on Rowdy, a funny horse that grunts in the water. My guide Ashley was so nice to me! The one thing that might've a deal breaker to someone who wants to do the activity might be that it won't be AS fun as it sounds. There is a lot of breaks in between especially since it's only 1 hour and 30 minutes. I'm an equestrian myself and I get that horses need breaks, and that's okay! But it's not super worth it to pay almost $200 for just sitting around most of the time. If you are considered a "expert" rider, you are able to canter on the beach, now don't get your hopes up because it's only a few strides. Not saying that's a bad thing, but I don't see the point of doing that- then taking off all the tack and waisting 30 minutes on that. But overall, the staff was quite nice and it was a fun experience. read more

What an awesome experience! It was on my bucket list & it didn't disappoint at all!! Barefoot horseback riding! The best! We had Chrissy & Rita as our guides & Naomi & Jezamay for our horses, (mother & daughter, they loved being together), Chissy & Rita were extremely knowledgeable, helpful & patient (we had some riders that weren't very experienced on horses & they did an awesome job working with them so they were comfortable). As we were starting our walk, Chrissy somehow spotted a baby seahorse, and walked it around for us all to see! It was way better than I could've hoped for! Yes horses do swim! We spent the whole time in the water! The pictures they took of us turned out amazing. Jezamay loved blowing bubbles, she'd stick her whole snout under and blow! There was another horse that was basically singing the whole time! Overall, it was the best experience I've had! We will definitely be returning! read more

We were so happy we chose Florida Beach Horses for an adventure for our 25th anniversary. They were professional and they really knew their stuff about horses. The leisurely walk down the beach and back was nice, but the action didn't really start until we started into the water. The guides are with you every step of the way and you never feel unsafe. The horses are great and the guides even better. Ali was my guide and my wife was with Ashley. Ali did a great job keeping me going and working with me, even taking pictures for us too! She was awesome! Ashley was great with my wife too. This was not just walking a horse out into water. You get a choice of activities to choose from - swimming on the horses, standing on them bareback, riding bareback, and best of all, horse skiing! All of this while surrounded by beautiful scenery. From the moment we arrived, everything was so welcoming and well organized. Our guides, Cassie & Dakota, were incredible--so kind, patient, and made us feel completely comfortable the entire time. The experience was a lot of fun. I was with my wife and three daughters. The beach walk was shorter than we anticipated but the water activities more than made up for it. We all really enjoyed being in the water and getting to do really fun things with the horses in the water. The only negative I would say was how pushy the head guide was with leaving tips at the end. We felt that we already came out of pocket over $800 for the five of us, and then were shamed if we couldn't add on another 10% to that. It was as if our business for the five of us wasn't appreciated. But we tried not letting that overshadow the experience becaose my daughters had a blast! My guide was Ava, and she was very sweet and knowledgeable. My wife and daughters said their guides were awesome too. So thank you guides for an awesome time! read more

This was such an amazing experience! This experience checked off a item on my bucket list that has been there for a very long time! The guides were super knowledgeable about the horses and it was evident that they sincerely cared about them! The horses were brought in on rescue and they all looked sincerely happy to do their job! The guides knew so much about their personalities and all of their playful tendencies it was really a heartwarming experience! Not to mention swimming in the ocean, who doesn't dream of that? They had so many fun activities planned with the horses that there was no way you could be bored! It felt safe and comfortable every moment of this incredible experience. This was an amazing experience! My daughter, a horse lover, and I spent the morning with the Florida Beach Horses and guides doing the sand and surf excursion. As instructed in the confirmation email, we showed up about 15 minutes early and I had filled out the waivers, etc. ahead of time which was helpful. In addition, we brought apples and carrots to feed the horses after our ride. Kasey and Gwen, or guides were very knowledgeable and had a great way with the horses. The horses we were paired with were a great fit. My daughter rode Flossy, a very sweet horse. I rode Rowdy who loves to sing while he is in the water which was very entertaining. We were able to spend a lot of time with the horses and had such a special experience. We look forward to doing it again next time we are in the Sarasota area. read more

My daughter and I had an amazing day with Florida Beach Horses! Our guides, Chrissy and Emma were friendly and knowledgeable about the horses. I rode Cloud, a sweet horse who was a perfect match for me being a nervous inexperienced rider, as well as a non swimmer. Emma was great at holding a conversation as we walked, explaining everything, and making me feel comfortable on the horse and about my choice not to do some activities. My daughter, who is an experienced rider was super excited to canter down the beach! She felt that Sparkles was the perfect horse for her, and Chrissy did an amazing job capturing photos and video of her riding, surfing, skiing, and swimming with her horse! Highly recommend Florida Beach Horses. We went last night for my daughter's 13th birthday. My two girls have ridden for years, and they loved every single second. They were allowed to canter, which made their night. And all of the water activities were a blast. In contract to their love of horses, I am someone who never rides and am honestly scared of riding. I only did it because my daughter wanted me to. And I can truly say I'm so glad I did it. The guides were amazing, kind, helpful, and encouraging. They made me feel completely comfortable. We booked a Cruise Tour with Florida Beach Horses on Friday 13th October! That may be an unlucky day for some but it was a lucky day for us! We had the amazing Alice as our lead guide, supported by the wonderful Regan. They were knowledgable and informative and both ensured that we knew what we were doing, had a lot of fun in the water with the horses and that we and the horses were safe throughout! I can't put into words how GREAT this experience was & how GORGEOUS the sunset was! Just when we thought it couldn't get any better the bioluminescent plankton came out & made the water glow! I had a fantastic experience with Florida Beach Horses. The most crucial point for me is the condition of the horses. All of the horses were well brushed, fed, and noticeably cared for. They seemed happy to do their jobs. Also, all the horses are rescues, meaning each ride helps care for the retired horses and rescues, so riding a horse is for a good cause! Lastly, the horse I rode, Wahoo, was fantastic and super sweet! Book immediately! My husband and I chose to do the sand and surf experience for our 20th wedding anniversary, we had a blast! Ava was my guide and I had Conga the horse. Ava had such a great personality and made me feel so comfortable (it was my first time on a horse). The water activities were the best! The entire experience was incredible.
