Through a series of skill building exercises we were introduced to the concept of alternating the targeting eye from right to left as the line of sight changed from one source of cover to another. This allowed for less exposure and a better use of cover while moving from one point to the next. I would recommend this course to anyone interested in defensive shooting. On November 17th I was able to attend Mr. Mariucci's Pistol Contact / Retention Fighting Course. This was the first time I was able to use my everyday carry pistol and IWB holster. This allowed me to identify a fault in my gun manipulation from drawing with one hand and shooting then transitioning to a two handed grip and continuing to fire. I have been able to address this problem thanks to this class. We were then taught a weapon retention technique that is simple to remember yet effective in allowing the time and space required to fire on an assailant while protecting your face and head from blows. I would recommend this course to all who concealed carry.

The couples course was very enlightening for both of us. We developed more skill, of course. We also were humbled to learn how hard it is to discern between threats and "non-threats". The class really drove home the immense responsibility inherent in choosing to carry. I highly recommend it.
