They are responsive - phone calls are always answered or, at worst, returned the same day. They are polite and professional - and we always get straight answers. There has never been an "upsell" - we've never been told that we need a new roof. The message has always been - this is what's broken and here's how we fix it. I always get a detailed (and understandable) report, usually with arial photos taken by drone. Work has always been done on time and professionally. Once repairs were made we've never had a problem in the same general area. Finally, Mike is the consummate professional. He is a true professional and gentleman. I cannot offer higher praise.

Today (Palm Sunday) we had a leak in the part of the roof Mike hadn't originally installed. I gingerly texted Mike to ask his advice. What I got back was well more than anything I could have expected. Mike called to tell me his supervisor, Travis, was already en route to our house. I then got a call from Travis saying he was twenty minutes out. 18 minutes later, he was at the door. He reviewed the leak inside, got his ladder and climbed up the roof and within ten minutes, was back down and showing me pictures of where he'd determined a dryer vent had let water in. Mike called me back to tell me he had a team he could send. Now. I told him it's Palm Sunday, I don't want to take your guys away from their families. Mike said, they are busy all week, this is my best chance to get this fixed. It won't take more than four hours. I agreed and within an hour, there they were at the door, ready to go. They cleared the tile, laid proper under layers - three layers in total. Then buttoned it all up again and were done within two and a half hours. I got a full set of pictures from Mike explaining every step of what was done. All this would be great on a weekday. But a Sunday? Palm Sunday? I am just in awe. From a customer perspective, it's like having a choice of hiring superheros like Mike and his team, or saying no thank you - I prefer the usual sheisters and snake oil salesmen that typically make up the roofing business. You can spin the wheel and take your chances - but for me - I just feel damn lucky to have found someone who provides this level of service and this quality of work all for a really modest price.

1 Star - Please Read Before Hiring Maze Roofing…read more Before purchasing our home, we already knew the roof would need to be replaced. To prepare, we had Maze Roofing come out to the property to inspect the roof and provide a quote before we even bought the house. During that visit, Gal from Maze Roofing provided the estimate and told us the company could complete the project, so once we closed on the home we moved forward with them. After signing the contract, we paid a 50% deposit and the company pulled a permit and scheduled the tear-off. Gal remained our main point of contact throughout the process. After the deposit was paid, communication became increasingly difficult. Gal was often hard to understand, and when we tried to reach him for updates the office frequently told us he was in meetings. Days would go by without any response, which made it very difficult to understand what was happening with our project. Once the roof was opened during the tear-off, it became clear that the existing roof structure did not have plywood decking and instead used Homasote boards, which is common in some older South Florida homes. At that point the crew appeared uncertain about how to proceed and told us engineers might need to get involved to determine the next steps. Unfortunately, by the time this was discovered the roof had already been opened and multiple large holes were created during the tear-off process. The roof was only temporarily patched rather than restored to the condition it was in before the work began, leaving us with a partially exposed and damaged roof. What concerned us even more happened afterward. The permit that Maze Roofing pulled for the project was later closed, and when we checked with the city it was listed as "cancelled by homeowner." We were never notified beforehand that the permit was being cancelled and only discovered this when we personally went to the city to check the status. We even have written messages sent after that date asking Maze Roofing to return and complete the work, which shows we had no idea the permit had already been closed. To be fair, Maze Roofing did ultimately refund our deposit, which we appreciate. However, the situation still left us with damage from the tear-off, temporary repairs, and an unfinished project after the permit had been closed without our knowledge. If you are researching Maze Roofing reviews before hiring a contractor, we recommend confirming the company has experience with roofs that use Homasote decking or other non-plywood systems common in older South Florida homes. We also recommend monitoring your permit status directly with the city, being cautious about large upfront deposits, and ensuring you have clear and responsive communication from your point of contact. We hope sharing this experience helps other homeowners avoid going through the same situation.

John was able to come out the same day, which was incredible. He must be the most knowledgeable, honest contractor I've ever spoken to. There was some debate over what was causing it, so he took pictures and drone video, and this weekend when it rains we're going to keep an eye on it to see if we can avoid roof repairs (we're all pretty sure it's not a roof leak, but just to cover all bases). He's genuinely going out of his way to make sure to keep this as affordable as possible. Without a doubt, when I *do* need a new roof (hopefully not for a long long time!), I'm calling these guys and requesting John specifically. I'll update more when the work is done, with the outcome and some before and after pictures!

Despite a few hiccups with inspectors questioning things that ultimately turned out to be fine, the team got it done: from securing the permit, to tear-off, to installation. They even helped me expedite my insurance situation by arranging tile delivery and installation during the week of Thanksgiving, which I assumed would be a dead week. Everyone--from Carlos Cruz, my initial contact, to Giselle Vicente who coordinated everything from their headquarters, along with all the project managers and installers--was top-notch, courteous, and professional. The roof (and the price) speak for themselves. I would recommend them without hesitation.
