Upon reviewing my records, Dr. Kumbkarni stated that he had performed the procedure last year and refused to do it again, claiming that someone my age should not consider any kind of operation. He then left the room. It was actually one of Dr. Kumbkarni's fellow co-workers who suggested that I should proceed with the biopsy. My husband overheard the entire conversation, including comments made by his flustered assistant, who kept repeating things that were said by Dr. Kumbkarni. It's disappointing to encounter such a lack of professionalism in a medical setting, and as a result, I will not be returning to this office. Additionally, I discovered that Dr. Kumbkarni invoiced Medicare and my secondary insurance for performing the biopsy on my thyroid gland, even though it was never done. I have reported him for fraudulent billing.

Dr. Kumbkarni is a 5-star doctor…read more His office manager "Donna" ... not so much. I've been going to Dr. Kumbkarni for about a year once I was diagnosed with my condition. He is very methodical in every step and action. The first year, you can expect to go in to the office for blood work routinely (every 6-8 weeks) as he monitors your situation. Never have I felt anxiety over anything he's said, he's usually very calm and optimistic. His office manager is "sweet" - or, seemingly, but you can tell there is a snark undertone. Last week I went in for an ultrasound and bloodwork, both services provided on-site. I had my appointment rescheduled twice the week before because the technologist had to switch schedules - no problem. I received phone call (automated and real) reminders for several different times. Either way, I showed up last week in the morning, leaving my house at 8 am and arriving at the center 8:30 am - 45 minutes before my last confirmed schedule appointment. On the way to the center, I called the number to get the answering service informing me the doctor's office doesn't open until 9 am - okay, so def my appointment was at 9:15 am, right? Wrong. I get there, and I'm rushed. They complained I was late and they have to get all the patients in - I informed Donna they had rescheduled me and sent me contradictory reminders. She brushed it off and proceeded to get me in. Fine, a mix-up. No biggie. Yesterday, I was schedule for 4:30p for a follow-up. I left my work at 3:50pm, and unfortunately the part of town I work in is a bit of a struggle - high traffic, low quality infrastructure and cars. A car ahead of me in line broke down and hit the car behind it, so we all were stuck in a bit of a jam. I called the office at 4:20pm when I felt I wasn't going to make it on-time, although close by. The assistant reassured me I had a 15 minute policy, so as long as I was there before 4:45pm I'd be taken in as it only takes 15 minutes for a follow-up. I was able to finally get to the center, where parking is RIDICULOUS and most of the spots are "valet" - as if we needed to pay to be able to get medical attention!!!! anyways, I get in, I'm rushed. Donna was at the front, she notices I'm late and mentions it. I said I had called in to inform you that I was going to be late. She said "I'll have to see if they'll take you" WHEN IT WAS 4:40PM, WELL WITHIN THE 15-MINUTE POLICY. She came back and said they would. I rush inside, she said "You have to sign in.." I said "ok" and she glared at me. Really? She then asked me for my insurance ID - I said you have it.. she said " let me see your insurance ID". I replied "The lady scanned it last.." and she goes "oh, ok, you have a $35 copay" I gave her a credit card and told her "You have my secondary insurance and FSA on file" she goes.. " Oh.... well, then we'll call you in a second, you don't have a copay." YEAH, DONNA, YEAH. I KNOW THAT. Now, Dr. Kumbkarni saw me and it was great and awesome - until he opened the door and I heard Donna complain to others saying "the 15 minute rule is only a policy.. we are about to close." I am dismissed, I line up to check-out, because guess what... there are other patients still there holding up the line. HOW UNNECESSARY. Avoid this woman like the plague, Dr. Kumbkarni needs to find someone else. Everyone else is super cool here.

After plenty of on-line searching, we found a team of doctors at a facility that looked like they would meet our needs, and we were right. USF Health Group has been very accommodating to our appointment requests, and the care throughout has been commendable. The on-campus location is convenient, easy to maneuver and valet parking is a super touch. On each occasion, we have been processed through the system very fluidly, the staff has been friendly, efficient and very helpful, and the doctors have been nothing less than amazing. After each appointment, my wife and I always comment how we feel as though we are the only patient on that day's list, how nice everyone is, how thorough each visit has been, and how clear & comfortable we are with the direction and game plan at the end of each visit. Additionally, the follow-up from each appointment has been super: information is provided, prescriptions filled, results provided and caring is crystal clear. The latest example is a call by one of the doctors yesterday that simply called to see how we were doing, if there were any questions about the visit and direction, and to wish us a Happy Thanksgiving. In my opinion, that is just amazing service by a very caring professional from a wonderful institution!

I'm not in pain anymore, I can walk a long time without needing to sit down and start sobbing in pain anymore, I'm in marching band, and I'm just really happy with how my life is now. A vivid memory I do have that was kind of.... Iffy in my opinion, was when I was in pain and sobbing before I got out of the hospital and he told the nurse to lower my dose on the muscle relaxer, while I was almost screaming in pain, Okay then. The receptionists were good, the office was tidy, it was nice, and a lot of the doctors and nurses were nice. I did feel like he was trying to dumb down everything he was saying to my mother like she was a teenager with no idea what was going on and didn't have a degree in nursing, which she felt was demeaning. But overall everything went really well with the surgery and with recovery (I did have a fall and they got me in that same day for x-rays to make sure I was okay, Cronen didn't see me but his assistant, Josh, did. He was really nice, I like him). If you go with him, nice! You do you! If you don't, nice! You do you! I just hope you get the proper care you need and deserve

He either arrived HOURS late and I had to wait for him or he didn't show up at all. The longest I was at the office was 6 hours. I needed an MRI and he refused saying that "X-rays didn't indicate I needed one" even though my arm is going numb, which indicates a pinched nerve in my neck. All of my personal doctors agreed that the issue was my neck. Previously, the X-rays for my back didn't show anything until I got an MRI, which showed bulging and herniated disks. I don't think he actually knows what he's doing or has just given up. I hate it when someone tries to mansplain things to me and that's all he did. Find a different doctor. The front office staff are nice though.
