Dr. Carlin saved my life. I started coming here 10 years ago with intractable epilepsy and barley the ability to even speak. My mother would have to speak for me. Thanks to Dr. Carlin and his serious diligence I now have a healthy life. I often forget I have epilepsy most days now. Dr. Heller transferred me to Dr. Carlin when my case became far too sensitive. I really applaud him for doing so, and he himself was also a great doctor. There shouldn't be any bad reviews on this office, they are amazing. read more

Simply put, Florida Neurology Group is the WORST Neurology practice in the US. AVOID THEM at all costs. The staff was unprofessional and rude. The on hold time averaged 13 minutes per call. They make you pay $50 (more if you use a credit card) to complete and fax 2 pages for FMLA, and did not complete the form, but faxed it anyway, leading to a denied case for my spouse. Dr. Michael Smith made us wait 3.5 hours on one appointment, Googled medications during the visit, had no idea what he was doing, changed the diagnosis to, 'I don't know,' and did not listen to my wife's needs or concerns. What a complete waste of our time, money, and energy during a very uncertain time for my wife's health. They added stress, anxiety, and financial strain on us, the exact things they were there to reduce. Unbelievable that they are in business. The complete lack of patient focus and healthcare support. While you're on hold, listen to their message, all complete lies. On to the next Neurology Practice to get my wife the care she desperately needs. FNG is a JOKE! read more

I made an appointment and a few weeks before that appointment. They left me a message and said that I needed to reschedule the appointment they reschedule the appointment without my knowledge now they'll try to charge me $100 no-show fee. This is a terrible way to do business. I understand now why they have such a low rating. read more

My first visit to this practice was very hasty. Three minutes with Dr. M. He prescribed triple the amount of Gabapentin recommended by my primary care physician plus a medication for depression. I told him I had tried the higher amount of Gabapentin and could not tolerate it. He insisted I could and told me to come back in 6 months to see his assistant. I returned to see Dr. S. I had attempted to see him initially, but he was booked for months. I could not afford to wait. I was anxious to get a new prospective and help to determine the cause of my "neuralgia". I was not even questioned by Dr S. I was informed by him as soon as we met that there was "nothing they could do to for me". I was shocked and disappointed by his total lack of interest. My review is based completely on how I was treated during a phone conversation to the office. I was so excited after viewing the ad that came up on my phone when I googled this practice. There were so many physicians and caregivers and they presented as there was someone there just for your problem. Not so fast said the cold voice on the other end of the line!! What is your insurance? I answered, we don't take that and we don't take, she named another well known insurance company, like she was happy to exclude even more patients! Still trying to ignore the outright chill in her voice I started to explain my desire to see one of the physicians there. The disease I suffer from is extremely rare and since my neurologist retired I haven't found a new doctor. She shut me down cold, gave me the phone numbers of two other practices in town and said goodbye. read more

I was seen by Dr. Dzamashvili today and I almost cried. After waiting for 2 hours in the waiting area because the Dr. I was originally scheduled to see was so backed up, the ladies in the front office offered me to see another provider so my wait time would be less. I agreed because I had not met any of the doctors there so I had no idea who is who. After my long wait and after I explained to the doctor my symptoms, he couldn't had been less interested. Barely made eye contact while he typed away and spoke into a voice recording device. He did the usual "squeeze my fingers, follow my finger ..bla blah bla" and was so robotic in the process. After he prescribed me meds, I asked him " so do you know or can you tell me what's causing my pain?' He tells me " oh it's just headaches no big deal I see people for this all the time you're not the first and you won't be the last." I honestly could not believe my ears. I have been experiencing headaches and earaches for about 4 months, have already tried all the meds and nothing works. I told him this but he proceeded to prescribe me the same drugs that I WILL NOT TAKE ANY LONGER. It's just so sad how doctors just do not care anymore. Spent $65 co-pay for nothing. I called to make an appointment with a neurologist who I was referred to for my Blepharospasm. Because I have been seen in this office before (by a different neurologist who does not specialize in this), she told me in a nasty tone that I would have to make a request. When I asked her what information they would need she continued with the extremely rude responses. When I continued to ask questions, she got annoyed and simply hung up. After reading other reviews, I completely understand what they mean. What doctor's office allows the woman who answers the phone to treat patients in that way? Shame on you Florida Neurology Group. Great doc listen to what I had to say made suggestions told me I needed some MRI testing and some EMG testing also prescribed some pills to make me calm when I have these tests. I was very grateful for this. read more

I would not recommend this practice. They do not listen to your symptoms. The neurologist said nothing is wrong and to not come back. He was not a good physician. My blood levels were abnormal which the physician completely dismissed. I would not recommend here. read more

I was so upset with this group. First of all I saw Dr d. He was so impersonal & rude. I will never go back to see him. After the visit they informed me they weren't in my network, therefore lots of money! They had my insurance card at the font desk when I signed in. I should've been informed then. Last year, I was assigned to Dr. Brown for migraines that were increasing in frequency and pain. I had been diagnosed with fibromyalgia over 10 years ago by a doctor that didn't want to run any tests. Two doctors that followed him also refused to run tests and just continued throwing meds at me, making me sicker. Finally, I met Dr. Brown and he ran numerous tests, got me on the right TWO meds to control my migraines, and discovered that I don't have fibromyalgia, I have herniated discs! This doctor is FANTASTIC! He saved my life! I lost my job and career, because I couldn't function and in just 6 months I have turned my life around - it's better than it has EVER been! Almost no migraines at all, no more tremors, no more dizzy spells or nausea, no more brain fog...I'm a functioning human being again! Two days ago, I was in a car accident and got a concussion. The ER told me to follow up with Florida Neurology Group. Yay! That's my doctor, right?! Wrong! I was just informed that I am never allowed to make an appointment with Dr. Brown again because he 'doesn't treat auto accidents'. I told them I'll forego their treatment in this process and just keep my regular appointment in April. Nope! She cancelled that appointment and informed me that because of one accident - that was no fault of my own - I'm no longer allowed to see the doctor about the previous conditions for which he was treating me. Do you have any idea how hard it is to find a good doctor in this area?!?! It took me over 10 years, and the loss of my job and livelihood before I found Dr. Brown. And because of one minor incident, I'm not allowed to continue with one of the best doctors I've ever had?!?! Screw you and your company policies. You have no idea the damage you can do to a person's life by messing with their medical care. read more

I took my mother here in July 2020 after having a stroke. Due to the stroke my mother was very confused. She went from being able to do almost all tasks by herself to need 24 hour care. We unfortunately saw the nurse practitioner, Lina Davis. She had terrible bed side manor. When I asked if my mom could drive her car (knowing full well she could not but hoping to get confirmation from the doctor) Lina said, "Well, her stroke was on the right hand side and that affects the left hand side so, she is fine to drive." Really??? My mom didn't know what day it was!!! She said we needed to see the vascular surgeon not them. When we returned today to get a referral to a memory care program, Lina was once again VERY rude. She barked questions at my mother to check for memory. "Spell WORLD. Spell WORLD backwards." When my mom spelled it incorrectly she said, "WRONG! Try again!!" She was upset that we wanted to go to another memory care facility for diagnosis when she never even mentioned that they do that there. Why would we go to her office when she was nothing but rude. She then said, "the assistant will walk you out." and stormed out. The front desk girl is very nice. The checkout girl is very nice. The CNA is very rude. Lina is the most rude health care "professional" I have ever met. She is no hero in my book. I only gave one star because I had to do so. read more

I would rate them lower but 1 is the lowest you can rate them My daughter was in the hospital a few weeks ago and one of the physicians from this group diagnosed her as having too much fluid on the brain and gave her a prescription to help with that and sent her home That was 3 weeks ago and she still is not normal nausea and listlessness Went to her appointment and saw a nurse practitioner for neurological problems l thought that's what the special training drs go through in that field was for. My wife had a lot of questions about all the meds she is taking and none of them got answered because they did not prescribe most of them guess they didn't take an oath to help. Absolutely no empathy for their patients and did not want to call our insurance carrier about Botox for Migranes. Save yourself a headache and avoid this group read more

It doesn't matter how good the doctors are if you can't get anyone to answer the phone to make an appointment. Also when they say they will hold your place and callback within an hour that doesn't happen either. I have now been on hold over 1 hour after waiting an hour and a half for a call back. My mother was just released from the hospital and we were told to make an appointment right away. 4 hours into the day still no answer or appointment. Thank goodness it isn't an emergency because obviously their clients don't appear to be a priority to their office staff. They may want to consider a new office manager. read more

Saw Dr. Acevedo-Ramirez and was highly impressed with her attention to detail and the time she spent just listening to what I had to say. Although they are a large group practice they were still very kind and I did not feel like just another number in line. I would certainly recommend FNG to anyone looking for a neurology group. read more

Very disappointed with the lack of empathy from this provider. I am a mother of 3 small children and had to have a family member drive an hour to watch my kids so that I could go to the appt. The family member was running late so I called the office to let them know but there was no answer since they don't open until 8:30, my appt was at 8:15. I arrived at 8:30 and they would not let me be seen since I was late. I teared up and explained the situation but was turned away. read more

I think my vet would have been a better choice for a neurologist. I was not given an option since a stroke landed me in the hospital. I NEVER saw the doctor that was assigned to my care. When I went for a follow up appointment, I still did not see the physician. I was seen by an ARNP who told me to go to physical therapy to help with the tremors after the stroke. VERY POOR CARE, or I should say, no care at all. read more
