First encounter with a mid-level practitioner was curt and short. Kelly NP spent whole exam on laptop with no physical exam

Neurology Dr. Bennezette is one of the nicest doctors I've seen ever he's helped me through a lot…read morein my years you couldn't find a better neurologist and the staff. They're pretty awesome too. I've been going here for years and I highly recommend this place. They're thorough. They follow through and they're always there to help.

This was after three days of trying to reach someone to confirm the location -- and being told by their voicemail not to leave more than one message. No one ever called me back. When I finally reached someone after leaving the Ormond office, she said she would contact Orange City and call me right back. That call never came either. I drove to the second location on my own, only to be told I could not be seen and would need to make yet another appointment. By then, I had wasted half my day, two unnecessary trips, and my own gas because of their complete lack of communication and coordination. No patient should have to deal with this level of disorganization. My time has value, and I fully expect the doctor to pay the invoice I submitted for the time, mileage, and inconvenience caused by their repeated mistakes. This office needs serious internal fixes before more patients are affected.

I would give this facility a 5 based on my overall experience with the staff and surgery…read moreexperience. All of the staff and nurses were incredibly attentive, helpful and friendly. The facility is also modern and very clean. My only couple bits of constructive feedback are, one, pre-surgery, they made me swab the inside of my nose twice with Betadyne, which has a sickening smell. Then, when I was rolled into the surgical suite, when they placed the oxygen hose in my nose, the strong odor of the new plastic tubing combined with the odor of the Betadyne instantly made me extremely nauseous. It was all I could do to avoid throwing up. It was AWFUL!!! The same thing happened again when I went in for my second surgery, in spite of them giving me anti-nausea medicine prior to going into the surgical suite. It makes me sick just thinking about it and I don't get queasy very easily. Also, we made a payment several weeks ago and then received a second bill for the same amount. When my wife called in, she was told that they are just now processing payments received 20 days ago. Very concerning and odd!

This was my third visit to East Coast SC and by far, this has been the most enjoyable team of…read moreskilled staff, that I've ever been associated with. From the moment you walk into the facility and get greeted by the receptionist, quickly moved over to the "liability" station, you feel important and respected. Once it was time to be taken back into the prep area, I was assisted by very professional and personable nurses, that made sure I was as comfortable as possible and ready for my procedure. Sitting in my assigned bed, waiting for the next step, I had the opportunity to observe just how well orchestrated the entire organization was. Everyone knew their jobs and did them efficiently AND they truly looked and acted like they enjoyed their work. Such a nice blessing to see in this day of constant drama around every corner. I was greeted through each step and introduced to the staff member who would make sure al went smoothly AND they did. I moved through each step and was quickly in the recovery area preparing to wind it up and head home with a successful procedure thank you

I have been seeing Dr. Hawthorne for several years now and can attest that Dr. Hawthorne is not…read moreonly an awesome doctor, he is also an incredible surgeon. I have been receiving knee injections from Dr. Hawthorne in my attempt to postpone the inevitable - knee replacement surgery. More about that another time. On Father's Day weekend 2023, I felt a momentary sharp pain in my right shoulder. Having felt a similar pain in my past, I assumed what I had done. I put off seeing Dr. Hawthorne until July. After the CT, the official diagnosis was, "retracted full-thickness, full width re-tear of the supraspinatus tendon and, retracted full-thickness near full-width tear of the infraspinatus tendon". In laymen's terms, I tore my rotator cuff - again. The surgery (not arthroscopic) was addressed in mid-August. I started in-home PT 3-days after the surgery (arranged by Dr. Hawthorne's office). In-home PT continued for 3-weeks. I am currently in outpatient PT doing the work to re-gain both my strength, and my range of motion (also arranged by Dr. Hawthorne's office). By the way, I have a tattoo on the shoulder where the surgery was done. Without exaggeration, you would not be able to tell that I had surgery if I did not tell you. The point of incision is barely visible. Dr. Hawthorne is a man of few words. He'll give you the facts to help you to decide the next steps, without the glitter. When you are ready, you can move forward with him and trust that he will do a great job. I trust him. As soon as I have completed PT and have fully recovered from rotator cuff surgery, I will be scheduling with Dr. Hawthorne to get my knees done, one after the other. I highly recommend Dr. Hawthorne and his team.

But once I get up and move I'm good. I am VERY HEALTH CONSCIOUS I don't smoke drink or take illegal drugs. This dr. made unwanted advances toward me I rejected. He said he couldn't give me the low dose because he couldn't give out any more narcotics or feds would be on him. So he said I'll give you Suboxone it has strong pain med in it you will be fine! NOT it ruined my life! My back teeth rotted and caused Ludwig's disease and I had to be life flighted to Jax for emergency surgery because my throat was closing from infection!! I told him for a year I didn't want to take that medicine it made me sick. Then I got a DUI because I got in wreak and was ON SUBOXONE! a year in women's rehab when I wasn't an addict!!!! I cried all the way to the dr every time I had to go I hated him. My family hated him too. He said he would go to court and help me but did NOTHING TO HELP ME. I will be pursuing legal advice for sure. If you need pain meds don't go here he will out you in it TOO! He is a monster. And the nurse staff well I told them about his unwanted advances they said "we know" but wouldn't help me because they didn't want to lose their jobs. I have it ALL DOCUMENTED I WROTE EVERYDAY WHAT HAPPENED WITH TIME AND DATE AND NAMES. I WILL NOT BACK DOWN HE OUT ME THROUGH HELL MENTALLY PHYSICALLY AND FINANCIALLY DO NOT GO HERE ! I only put a star rating because it was required he deserves NO STAR
