Had Florida Retrofits add the CURRENT CODE hurricane strappings to our roof structure. Our insurance company told us that though the prior owners had replaced the roof about 2 years prior to our purchase, the strappings would need to be updated to current code when the roof would be replaced next time. Our roof is still in great condition but adding these strappings has ensured extra security and peace of mind especially during hurricane season and year round. Found this company through Next Door app as there are MANY roofing companies , but not all do these retrofits. This is a locally owned family business Barry came out to give us a quote and Kayla called to schedule us for 2 weeks later. Barry even dropped off a new piece of wood that had rotted in the corner of the garage due to rain dripping over the years so I could paint it before it was replaced. The team consisted of Charles and Angel who arrived on time, dressed in company shirts in a clearly marked company vehicle. They were clean cut, friendly and professional giving us updates on every step of the process which took a couple of days as our adjoining neighbor also had theirs done at the same time. Cannot say enough about how pleased we are with their workmanship and expertise. They cleaned up daily being respectful of the property. Both have been long term employees and answered all of our questions and/or concerns without any hesitation. They replaced our old soffits that consisted of painted particle board with small vents spaced every couple of feet or so . Some of the old small vents would start to separate at times due to heavy winds and could have allowed water, bugs and critters into the attic space. Now we have a continuous piece of all vinyl soffit securing attached Now we have proper air ventilation in the attic with NO chance of future rot or worries attic about mold/mildew which is way more expensive to repair and replace. Now all we need to do to maintain the soffits is to hose down any dirt or pollen. They replaced the rotted wood at the garage corner and attached a corner piece below to avoid rot ever again. This was beyond our expectations to say the least and they painted it for us ! Another benefit is that we will be saving on our homeowners insurance ! Why wait for the next storm or high winds or next roof replacement which at that point this work would be mandatory ? Their estimate was the actual total price for the whole project which included a new wind mitigation report from a company my insurance company has worked with before and obviously trust. The report was done within a week of strappings installed. read more
