I have been a patient at Floss Dental Midtown for 3 years. I didn't care much for the implant on a extraction of one of my molars, first time visiting. Second visiting I had to return for an adjustment several days later because my jaw wasn't connecting right and it was making a pooping sound when i opened my jaw on the right side where the molar was placed. Third visiting, my two front/ central incisor teeth was looking jagged, they told me I may be grinding my teeth at night so they fitted me for a mouth guard. Fourth visiting, cause I chipped my central incisor/ front tooth and for two upper third molar/ wisdom teeth to be extracted. Well it wasn't a success on filling my chipped tooth cause it kept popping out when they asked me to bite down. So they called in the Doctor he told me, that procedure shouldn't have happened, instead the Doctor said that I needed an alignment to straighten my teeth before they could put a filling or a permanent crown on my two central incisor/ front teeth. They changed me beforehand prior to my appointment. But I did get a refund on the central incisor, also there was no available parking in the back that was freely parking so I paid a parking meter on the street. I didn't know the procedure, I was getting would take 3 hours. So my permit had expired I received a $30 fine on top of that. When you call FLOSS someone at a different location normally answers or it goes to voice mail. I ask if this is the particular location and I'm told "yes". I explain that I want an appointment with a certain Dr. then told, Oh I'll have to get the receptionist at the location that I was wanting to call me back. I said so you're not at the location that I'm wanting. All morning long we're playing CAT & MOUSE until I can finally get an appointment. I do NOT like that I don't see the same dentist each time. I was a patient here for 4 years. I had scheduled an appointment for October 10th for my routine cleaning. I get to my appointment just to find out that they are out of network now. Being upset is an understatement, considering I had to drive there early in the morning just to hear information that should have been provided to me before my arrival. Why was I not called? I have been extremely impressed with Floss Dental. The dentist has been hands-on throughout my treatment. He is very detail-oriented and takes very good care of his patients. He has even called me at home to make sure I was able to pick up my prescriptions prior to my appointment. When he realized I had a little more anxiety, he prescribed additional medication so I would be completely comfortable with my dental experience. Dr. Tran is very easy to talk to and down to earth. I trust Dr. Tran with my extensive dental care and treatment plan. I would recommend him to anyone who has endured a negative dental experience with another dental provider or oral surgeon. He also has a 10-year warranty on his dental implants. I saw him on TV, and I have not looked back. I believe Dr. Tran cares about his patients, their dental concerns, and their care. I've been a patient here for the year or so and my primary dentist is Dr. Castillo. The staff from the front desk (Kristin, forgive me if it's spelled wrong) is always warm and welcoming, to the dental assistant (Kayleigh?) And also not forgetting the Dental Hygienist Maura. Dr. Lee was my primary dentist today and she was very informative, thorough and helpful with my assessment. She was helpful in answering my questions. Always a pleasure coming here and interacting with the staff, just be warned though the parking is shared with the urgent care and jewelry store so it might be tight, be sure to download the app or have a credit card to pay for parallel parking in the free spots are taken. read more

Thank you Floss Dental and the staff for making me feel comfortable during COVID. I was able to come in for my my normal cleaning and had a freaked accident with my front tooth. Dr. Michael Tran was able to squeeze me in the following business day to work on my smile. During my visit everything was coordinated to perfection without overlapping with another patient. Checking in and out was a breeze and my cleaning wasn't painful at all. Dr. Tran incorporates his skills and state of the art technology to getting the job done. I picked this location because we moved further away from the one in the galleria and rice village. I will not be returning. I wanted a cleaning and didn't get it, they didn't even attempt to clean so I wasted 2 hours of my work day. They doctor and the office coordinator mentioned the deep cleaning and treatment with the lasers was extra. They even show you a video to get you on board. Then the doctor said I needed invisialign. I should have known something was up because the advertisement posters were all over the office. I have never in my 38 years have been told by a dentist that I needed an alignment, even by other Floss dentists! He said my tooth was chipped because of that, wrong! And it was going to get worse. Don't trust this dentist!!! I have 4 broken upper dentures and even more broken bottom all on 4 implant dentures. He has lied several times (I have on text conversations) I have been a client for just over 2 years. I have spent thousands of dollars. He got his money up front so I couldn't afford to find another dentist. It was 2 years of pain, embarrassment and frustration. He doesn't stand behind his work. The staff is constantly changing in the Magnolia office. Blamed me for everything. I am living with broken dentures that were less than a week old that he refuses to fix as promised. I went to Floss for a routine cleaning and Invisalign consultation. As a new patient, the first appointment will be a maximum of 2.5 hours. They told me this upfront. The front staff was very friendly and punctual. There is nothing wrong with my teeth and there hasn't been for years. So, you can understand my annoyance when I am being told that I "kinda" have a cavity. And that I should go ahead and let them take the tooth apart and fix it before it becomes an official cavity. I refused as I don't like poking around just because I haven't reached a pay threshold. If the tooth was unsealing or leaking; then that is one thing. . At any rate, I get the game, so I moved past it. What I could not move past was needing to be x-rayed twice. The first dental tech did not know what she was doing. She was new and she was not trained properly. You could tell that the trainer was gleeful pointing out this poor woman's mistakes. It was very much a "watch her fail and point out things" type of learning. She had to take all the pictures over which took an extra 20 minutes. The trainer was criticizing her in front of me. Just poor form. They leave the room and I hear the dental hygienist come in like a bull in a China shop. She is all huffy about something. She starts ranting and raving to the front desk girls about a car accident that "did-not-but-could-of" happened and how she was screaming at someone's husband. The rant was filled with empty threats to what she "could have" and "should have" done. As I listened, it sounded like she may have been at fault. She went on for 15 more minutes. Then, she comes into my room with the most overconfident and patronizing demeanor. She is speaking very quickly and choppily stringing nonsensical words together. I knew it wasn't an ESL thing. Then, it occurred to me....she is trying to sound more knowledgeable then she is. She rambled the entire time. Talking at me and never to me or making eye contact. She spoke in an annoying baby voice very quickly "So, we need to get that infection out of there... yeah, infected gums. Definitely, so to get that infection out so gums heal nicely. I need to get in there with these tools to remove the infection around the sick gum line and bring that to full alignment". Her: "Do you floss each day?" Me: "Yes." Her: "Ok. Well, gotta get this infection out and clean the teeth properly so that there is no more infection and inflamed gums....to get rid of the gum disease.... that is pervasive. Yes, very pervasive". Me: "Huh?" Guys, I don't have any infection in my gums or teeth. I do not have gum disease! That is not something a dental hygienist would even diagnose. A doctor would diagnose that and give me a treatment plan. She was a nut. She was rough and unskilled with the cleaning tools. It was the most unnecessary painful experience. She was not careful at all. She kept losing control of the tool and poking me hard. There was so much friction and uncontrolled jabbing. I was "ow-ing" the entire time and wincing. She was not paying attention. No situational awareness. She was moving very fast and was bouncing in her chair while she was performing the cleaning. Just. So. Much. Unnecessary. Movement. The bouncing and the speaking were in the same rhythm. She was talking nonstop about how to brush your teeth and floss. It was insulting. You need a clean toothbrush. You should wet it and put toothpaste on it. Brush all the teeth even the back ones. Girl, stop. You know that I know how to brush my teeth. They are healthy for a reason. I never saw the dentist. As nothing was wrong with my teeth. I went on my merry way. read more

I was seen on an emergency after going through my regular DDS & 3 other dental offices. No one could help me. The other dental offices said they can see me and treat me, same day, much to my surprise when I arrived at their office they were unable to help me. They just collected an office visit, gerrr! I called this location, let them know my situation - they worked me into their schedule, seen me and treated me all in two hours. They were busy with other patients but they worked me in and took great care of me. They were a life saver. I cannot express how wonderful this dental office is. Everyone is super nice and very informative. There are one hidden agendas. I have been with my regular dentist for about 6 years and I'm sorry but loyalty works both ways. I never leave this office without a pleasant experience. The office is modern and gorgeous and all of the equipment is top of the line. Dr. Tran and Dr. Castillo are equally knowledgeable in their field. Everytime I come to have my teeth cleaned, I get a free whitening treatment to come with it. Recently, I came in for a veneer consultation as I am not happy with my smile. I told Dr. Tran my goals for my cosmetic procedure. However, after listening he told me Invisalign can give me the look I am going for. He explained that my teeth are healthy and fine, but Invisalign would pull my teeth downward to align my gum-line and fill in the spaces in my teeth that would give me the even smile that I want. This made me gain even more respect for him because he saved me thousands of dollars than what I was originally willing to pay for to get veneers done. This is one of my favorite dentist offices I have ever been to. And I've tried a lot. Dr. Tran and Dr. Castillo are amazing! I've never felt like they are rushing and they took time to get to know me. I've also never felt like they are trying push procedures that aren't completely necessary (which I have felt like dentists do in the last). They explained each recommendation and why it was beneficial or necessary. Dr. Tran caught a tricky cavity of mine that had been missed previously by other dentists. I just recently started Invisalign with them and so far so good. They have been patient and understanding and willing to work with me on various payment plans. The office is nice, clean and I love watching HGTV on the screens in the ceiling (making getting a crown much more pleasant). So far so good. I've only been here once. Everyone was friendly, office is modern and nice. I did appreciate how they walk through your X-rays and the actual photos of your teeth. Not that giant photos of my teeth are anything I want on my bedroom wall, but that was helpful feedback. I came in on a special and without insurance. We'll see what the normal plan is... sadly I probably need to get my wisdom teeth taken out sometime soon, which does not sound fun. Seems like a small, very personal practice. The dentist did the cleaning himself. Didn't feel like the assembly-line sort of places I've been to before, dentists actually spends time with you. Some places do the cleaning beforehand and then the dentist checks - Floss did it the other way around, which is fine I guess, but the cleaning found some cavities that the X-rays did not show? I dunno, it was a little like, everything's looking okay -- wait no never mind. Which one is it? they also pushed a lot of cosmetic treatments right off the bat. those two things combined made me question whether they were dealing straight with me when they found surprise cavities. It seemed more like they wanted my wisdom teeth gone so they could sell me Invisalign (the wisdom teeth are actually causing problems, pushing other teeth together and if it continues I should do something about it, but I can't commit to spending several thousand dollars after one visit - also they weren't sensitive at all during the cleaning). But it IS a cosmetic dentistry practice so maybe that is to be expected. overall good experience, convenient location. My teeth look and feel a lot better, I got an appointment easily, and the whole process took about 45 minutes. Bonus points that they let you fill out new patient information online first so you aren't waiting in the waiting room forever. read more

I feel like this is the prettiest scam and yes I plan to Report them to the Texas Medical Association for insurance fraud. I was pretty clear that I had a problem With my teeth and gums and I needed attention immediately. I was brought in treated amazingly well, had X-rays some of my entire mouth for 1.5 hours as well as a 30 minute waiting period for consultation and nothing was done except a suggestion of $1100 in work immediately and follow up work for $18000 total. My teeth were not cleaned and barely touched. They don't really do anything that is covered by regular insurance but if you walk in the door they are billing your insurance company for X-rays at about $150. Now here is the catch, when you select another dentist that will actually clean your teeth you now have to pay out of pocket for your images because Floss has exhausted your image spending for the year. HUGE RIPOFF!!! read more

Floss Dental Midtown is the worst dentist location in midtown and I'd be very careful if you do decide to go here especially after reading all of the negative reviews. Where do I start, 1.management - the office manger (blonde hair lady with the horrible veneers) has no understanding of customer service. She informed me that I'd receive a take home whitening kit and upon arrival and after my service was already do that they had no more kits. So the solution was for me to return the next day to pick one up and they would call me well 4 days went by and I got no call. I had to call and ask for my kit, when I went in she tells me why didn't I call sooner (maybe because your the dentist and I'm the customer). 2. Service - I had the worst cleaning!! It was quick and the dentist was just trying to sell me veneers because they didn't want to repair my chipped tooth. 3. Did I mention the horrible customer service!! I'm so upset since I was just disrespected I refuse to write anymore. Really wanted to like this place as I live next door. I came here for a new patient exam and cleaning. Nicole spent 1.5 hours getting x-rays and then told me they would not be doing a teeth cleaning (what I came in for), because the dentist may recommend deep clean and laser gum therapy (which she did). I was not offered a regular clean, floss, or anything else. No advice other than recommending an $800 treatment. They barely touched my teeth. I felt that they should have communicated better on what to expect (i.e. the possibility of no teeth cleaning) prior to getting so many X-rays and billing my insurance, because if I had known I would have not wasted my time and just picked another place. read more

Strong potential to be a 5 star experience. Place is bustling for a dentist's office. Staff are friendly and attentive. Providers all explained what and when and why they were doing something. I was presented with a billing summary and pricing options at the end of the visit, and it wasn't sales-pitchy at all. Dentist was thorough; hygienist was careful. Only thing I didn't love was the tech; she was a little rough during x-rays and kept trying to chat up the hygienist while she was working on me...I didn't really want to lay there listening to their conversation.
