There's a $50 no show fee for appointments, however, I haven't been calling daily for two weeks and emailing to cancel my child's appointment; no one picked up or responded. The staff made me and my child uncomfortable during the initial appointment as the dentist doesn't introduce himself to the parents, nor does he tell your small child when he is yanking the chair down. I do not usually say something is not good unless I feel I have to. I had a really bad experience with their staff several times. Once, when my son needed to be treated and needed fasting, they did not tell me ahead until we arrived there. To not waste the appointment, I guess maybe, I remember the doctor used an alternative way (obviously not the best way), that took about 2 hours long and caused lots of pain to my 6 years old. For another two times, it is about bills. I always check the cost before any procedures. They tell me a price and I pay full in the office after it's done. However, for twice, after a while, I received a bill from them saying I need pay extra. They should know how much the insurance company covers and how much the patients need pay before the procedure, get customers an accurate quote. Also I feel the staff is always impatient to me. I will not take my two kids there any more. In addition, we had a friend who went to this office in the beginning because of the fancy room decoration and decided to quit as well. We had our first appointment with our 3 year old twins. The waiting room is wonderful and the kids felt right at home. They office staff was very nice and welcoming. The office is decorated with all of the Disney favorites and the staff did a great job of making the kids relaxed and comfortable. We visited with Dr. Alan and he was very patient and gentle with the kids. He had a wonderful bedside manner and assured us that he is there 24/7 in case of a dental emergency. My husband came here as a kid so when we had to find a dentist for our son he mentioned this place. For him it was so nostalgic BC the place was the same - however they are upgrading now. Dr Urbach and his son both still practice and the father still wears his Hawaiian Mickey shoes - hubby says he still wore that when he was a kid. Overall a nice place to bring the kids to get their teeth cleaned/checked. Very conducive for children! It's entertaining for them and they will love it! Staff there are amazing! Thanks to Doctor Urbach my 4 year old now wants to go to the dentist everyday!! Clearly they have made this dentist office too much fun! Dr Urbach has been in the same spot practicing pediatric dentistry for over 30 years... He and his staff are excellent! They make going to the doctor more like a trip to an amusement park and not like a visit to the dentist. The best place to take your children! The office is a wonderful family run business and they make you feel like you're a part of theirs the moment you walk in. All of the staff and technicians are sweet and friendly and Dr. Mark and Dr. Alan are extremely knowledgeable. They take the time to explain all of the procedures beforehand and explain the after care to every patient in a thorough manner. The office is located in a great location which is very convenient for my job in the medical center. As someone mentioned earlier, its all about kids. We had gone for our son's first annual dental checkup, and this was our first time at the office. Speaking of first impressions, the office was comfortable, and the service was fast and smooth. The waiting area has enough legos, toys and books to keep a child entertained, with an additional attraction of a train that keeps making the rounds. Our total time spent at the location was 45 minutes, which included signing in, waiting and the check up. The doctors' technicians, were extremely nice, friendly and gentle with our child. Dr. Urbach himself is extremely knowledgeable and drew my attention to a lot of facts about good dental hygiene. As another reviewer pointed out, I agree, the office looks a little dated, however, it brings home the fact, that Dr Urbach has been around for a long time - close to 25 years! I would like to say the doctors and staff are awesome, very friendly, and helpful with one exception. I took my son today for his second visit everything went as expected he did start to feel dizzy and nauseous as we were checking out which I understand might happened after the medication that was given to him, a staff member noticed and asked me if he was okay. I told her he doesn't feel good he wants to sit down so she told me to take him to a room next to the check out area as I am walking him into the room the x-ray technician Gina comes and tells her "he is okay, he is leaving already he was sedated...he can have a seat but I need this room for my patient. As my son was about to sit on the bed Gina said "no no not on the bed I am going to have to clean it again I need it for my patient, you can sit on the chair." At this point my son started sweating, felt dizzy, stomach ache and nauseous but she was more worry about having to sanitize the bed again instead of taking care of a patient. I asked her if he could have popsicle since he had not eaten he sugar might of dropped she said " I will let them know " Dr.Alan and the dental technician came in the room to make sure everything was okay and took my son to the previous room he had his dental work done and let him lay down and put him on oxygen he felt better after a few minutes. It's sad that one person might ruin your experience, not everyone is compassionate towards patients but this will not change my perspective over the other staff and doctors. read more

We love Urbach Pediatric, we first started seeing Dr. Urbach, but now see his son. They are both so patient and kind to the kids, which is so important. My daughter will be 7 next month and we have been bringing her since she turned 1. We love the new office as well! We highly recommend them for your pediatric dental needs. read more

I'm currently on hold with this Dental surgery and have been for the last 20mins. After being initially greeted by the receptionist (who was quite abrupt) I was placed on hold. I had been there 1 time when I moved from Brazil to Houston and he was recommended by a friend. It was in August 31th. The dr was very kind with the kids, making jokes and playing etc but the service now I see was ZERO! Cause 3,5 months later I found out my daughter had a HUGE cavity that almost had to take out her entire teeth!!!! And it was impossible that it could grown that big in only 3,5months!!!!! I feel bad that he told me she was fine! That she didn't had any cavity or had taken care of the cavity that probably was small that time... He should play less and be more concentrate. This was my daughter's first visit to the dentist. I appreciated the "old school" manner of Dr. Urbach. He explained everything needed for proper dental care in detail. I felt as though I was having an authentic conversation about my child's dental care, I appreciate the thoroughness of the dialogue. It was smidge crowded, yet the staff and doctor made me feel like we were welcome. I highly recommend this dentist your child and the whole Disney theme is kinda cool. read more

My son had his tooth extracted today with fillings, and a cap placed on one tooth as well as a fitting for a spacer. They were able to tell me exactly what they were doing as well as kept me informed of how he was doing while the procedure was going on. The group of ladies today were great!!!!! my son may not be a happy camper right now but who would be after having a tooth pulled. he has complained about pain but the complaint is really him not knowing what the numbing feeling is. I was really pleased with the service I received and the office in general. My son is almost two and the other pediatric dentist we had been using claimed there was over a four month wait for a check up; they weren't able to even squeeze him in. Mind you, he's two....all they do is count their teeth and talk about brushing. So, I called Dr. Urbach's office which is much closer to my home. They were able to schedule him for the next week. It was easy to fill out paperwork ahead of time as everything was available online. The office staff were all very friendly upon our arrival. My little boy LOVED the train in the office and having toys to play with. We waited just a few minutes before he was called back. Dr. Urbach was friendly and personable. I brought my 4 year old son to Dr. Urbach for his very first dental experience and I must say Urbach pediatric dentistry did not disappoint. My son had a wonderful experience! The staff was very sweet to him and they took time to explain everything to him and myself. Dr. Allen Urbach is a natural when dealing with kids. My son never felt anxious or scared. Dr. Urbach took plenty of time talking to me about my son's care. He even praised me for taking such good care of his teeth. My son has no cavities and the dr says he has perfect teeth. Dr. Urbach is really knowledgable, but remember he's not the only one in town. If you can, go find another dentist. When you walk in, it's like you are walking in a zoo. The way the manage the appointment is that they give a lot of overlapped appointment to make it look like is so busy and hopping for getting famous! The recieption employees are incredibly rude! Iv never written a review before but since this has to do with the health of my children I felt it was very important to let other parents know what they are getting into if they choose to go to Dr Mark Urbachs office. My first experience was not very pleasant due to the old office and crowd of people there. I let that. Go because for te five minutes te doctor saw us, I felt he was ok. I rook my daughter for her treatment a bit later and again not the beat service but I dealt and understood that they get busy and these things happen. First, we were there 15 min before our 9am appt and didn't get seen till 10:30, my daughter had to go fasting ao she hadn't eaten since early evening the night before. They totally changes the treatment plan, instead of fillings they did caps. while my daughter was in getting treatment done, she got sick and threw up and no one informed me. She was in ther for 4 and a half hours! They explained the change in treatment plan an agin I understood. I go in for the rest of her treatment to be done, a month later. This time I get there 30 min before my appt and again I'm left tere to wait with my daughter this time in tears and starving...we were told again she had to go on an empty stomach. I kept asking the lady in the front, Trish, and she kept blowing me off, saying she is next! I was the first one there and it wasn't till after over an hour they finally only call her back. As they are doing her vital signs the machine battery dies. They then leave us there to wait longer. I finally can't take it and ask for my refund. Thank God I did, because again this time they had the wrong treatment plan. Who knows what they would have done to her. But most importantly, the second visit I experienced something like never before. They office is always packed and over booked. Aparently Doc Urbach's wife works there. While I'm standing there with my daughter and other children around. Doctor Mark Urbach comes out and yells at his wife and pushes her with his chest asking her why a certain patient hadent been seen. We were so scared and the lady I've the counter, Dixie I think is her name, was really embarassed and tried explaining to me that, that is his wife and thy go through this!!! I couldn't beieve what I was seeing and hearing! I should have known from then and I should have complained from then. My advice would be to stay far away from this place as possible! The service is horriable and they are very unorganized. They are dealing with children, and instead of caring for them they are literally hurting them. They don't deserve even a half star read more

Both dentists at Urbach Pediatric Dentistry saved the day for us today! My son had an errant ball hit a loose baby tooth today and it was a bloody painful, still intact mess. They squeezed us in, made the process less painful and he walked out with a prize, tooth in a box for the tooth fairy and the recognition that the dentist is your friend. So grateful! Butted heads with our last dentist and came here because he is close to our house. Stay Away! This place is not just outdated but it is dirty! i am pretty sure every surface in there is either ripped and/or scuffed, completely non hygienic. On the other hand, Dr. Urbach was very nice and an "old school" dentist which made me think i could get past the atrocious office, the thirty minute wait in disney limbo, and the feeling like i was going to catch ebola.... I have 2 boys who see Dr. Urbach, one for 7years and the other for 10 years. We think he does a good job. Sometimes there can be a crowd in the waiting area. Saturday's are always busy. A tech might clean your child's teeth or do the X-ray, but Dr. Urbach always reviews the child's images and teeth with the parent (me). I've never felt rushed and I've never left feeling like I didn't know what was going on or didn't get answers to my questions. I also haven't had any problems with billing. read more

It's all about kids. How happy and confident they feel. Dr. Urbach has a great passion in his work and kids are number one priority. The nice thing about Dr. Urbach's office is that parents can accompany their kids all the way along. Dr. Urbach greets every kid with a big welcome smile and talks about the kids interests (based on the sign-in sheet that parents filled out on their first visit). A normal routine consists of an X-ray and full teeth cleaning along with examination. Dr. Urbach goes through the X-ray image and the exam results in detail with parents. I wanted to share my upmost trust for Dr. Alan Urbach, Dr. Mark Urbach, and their incredible staff. I have known this group almost my entire life: first starting when I was a child and now with the bringing my own son there. Dr. Mark is a staple in the industry and his son, Dr. Alan, always takes the time to listen and share his knowledge. He is positive and engaging with my son. Since my son was one-now three, he has been completely engaged and happy in the office. The office is currently being renovated to include more Disney and kid themes. Currently, a train travels around the top of the walls and their Disney animation everywhere you turn. Often you'll even see staff wearing Disney, just because they want to. The staff and Dr. Alan communicate as though they are on the same level as the kids and try to educate them on how to keep a healthy mouth, using phrases such as "sugar bugs," and eating healthy foods like fruits and veggies." My son talks about Dr. Alan like he is friend; it has made brushing and flossing very easy in our home. The new office is looking wonderful and I am excited to see how animated it will be. I have no doubt the color themes will be just as comforting and fun as before. I also know they are bringing in the latest technology and workflow where less movement is needed from the kid and more from the doctor, to help with making kids feel comfortable. There is such a passion for kids in the office and it clearly shows how child-focus they are. I love this place and my son may love it even more! read more
