A Multi-Racial congregation where Straight Word is taught...whether someone else likes it or not. This is a "money grubbing cult" because we teach to tithe and give? I can't say enough good things about Parkview Christian Church…read more I attended years ago for the first time when I was going through a difficult divorce but didn't continue going. I went back a little over a year ago and I cannot say enough good things about Parkview. I like that we offer small groups to help people , we help the community , and I always feel welcome. The services are so heartwarming and relatable. I am involved in serving and it just makes me feel so good. My outlook has changed attending Parkview and I feel more at peace than I ever have. When I returned I committed to a timeframe and stayed. Change takes time and that was why I gave myself a timeframe. I'm so happy I did.

The land was bought from George Earle (one of the founding fathers of the town) for $1.00. The bricks were locally made. The doors opened up on January 13, 1876. One hundred and forty years (140 years!) later, the same building still houses the same congregation it did when it opened its doors. The bricks of the Sanctuary are original along with the pews and choir balcony are still intact. The church landed on the National Registry September 9, 1999. This is a very unique thought based congregation where the congregants are encouraged to find their path in their own spirituality. There are core values of the congregation are diverse and all inclusive. I love going to this church.

From the youth group to men's group to women's group and Sunday services I can truly say I just LOVE it. They have such a love for serving their community and are extremely welcoming to any newcomers. We always joke around that we are a "melting pot" because we are not just one race, we are many! I went to this church a couple of times based on a recommendation from somebody I know. While…read morethere, was ignored by absolutely everybody including the one who invited me. They opened a park to the public, so they say. I took some kids to the park, and the security guard glared at us, causing one 5 year old little girl to cry, this after being refused access to their bathroom. I saw the pastor a few days later, he told me that the bathroom was cleaned already for Sunday and they didn't appreciate my asking kids to use it because it would have messed up the bathroom. Guess the pastor isn't familiar with the story of Mary and Martha. He then told me to make arrangements with their session next time I want to take kids to the park which sign says is open for all, seemingly forgetting about Jesus saying "bring the children to me." Terrible church that seemingly doesn't follow the teachings of the Holy Scriptures. They should all be ashamed of themselves.
