I was worried that a florist wouldn't be too excited to work with me since I was making non-floral centerpieces and bouquets. On the contrary, Joanne was interested in what I planned on doing and worked with those ideas to create boutonnieres and corsages to coordinate with my designs. She listened to my ideas, gave me her suggestions, and we combined them to come up with some truly beautiful flowers. I, unfortunately, did not have the same experience as other reviewers. I went in looking for a bouquet for a friend's graduation. The service was horrible and the florist was very snooty. When she was picking the flowers for the bouquet, she picked the flowers that have already peaked and looked like they were about to be done. When I have told her multiple times that didn't want those flowers or the brown flowers, she gave me looks. For the price that I paid, $60, the bouquet that I received did not match and was definitely not worth it. The bouquet looked "dinky" and looked cheap. I definitely will not go here again. read more

The flowers I ordered came out lovely. That being said, they were extremely small. I feel they do not do a good job of telling you what your money will get you. Spending $65 should get you more than an arrangement that can fit in the palm of your hand. NOT worth the amount of money they charge. I chose Flowers Flowers for my wedding based on Yelp reviews and on my pleasant interactions with Joanne. Our wedding was very small--18 people total, including bride and groom--and our decor was minimal, so I was VERY picky about the colors of the flowers being accurate. First, I was shocked to see Joanne's initial quote. For 2 bouquets, 1 corsage, several potted mums (not arrangements, just large potted flowers from the nursery), and 5 small table arrangements, all only mums since it was a fall wedding, she quoted me over $1000. I asked her to cut back significantly on the potted mums and reduce the number of table arrangements. While the quote was still higher than I wanted, I was willing to pay it for what I expected to be high-quality products. Unfortunately, I was disappointed when I saw everything on the wedding day. I had sent Joanne a detailed document with photos of arrangements, flower colors, bouquets, and the corsage I liked. The only thing that came out as I expected was my bridal bouquet. My Maid of Honor's bouquet was the wrong color, the purple potted mums at the altar were the wrong color (see photos I sent to Joanne and the products I received here: file:///C:/Users/Lauren/Desktop/Weddingflowers.gif ). The Best Woman's corsage was 3 tiny mum buds on a pearl cuff bracelet--definitely not worth $35. The arrangements on the table at the restaurant looked scrawny and were nowhere near as full as I wanted. I could have done much better myself at $40 a piece. Joanne was very nice and easy to work with, but I would not recommend her to anyone who has a specific vision of what they want. The flowers were overpriced and despite my efforts to communicate my vision, I did not get what I wanted. Fortunately, I valued the company at the wedding more than the decor. Joanne and Flowers Flowers were recommended to us by our wedding caterer, who had worked with her in the past. We are so thrilled that we took his advance and chose Joanne as our wedding florist. From our first phone call, she was warm and accommodating. I was worried she would laugh at me when I told her our floral budget - but she used her creativity to come up with beautiful flowers that were very reasonably priced. She took into account the look and feel of our venue, and created arrangements that made the room come alive and filled the space with color, even though we did not have the budget for multiple large arrangements. When early warm weather meant our main flower choice (forsythia) might not be available, she called around and special-ordered unbloomed branches from Wisconsin that she bloomed specially for us the week of our wedding - and they looked gorgeous! She also fought with Memorial Day parade traffic to make sure we had our personal flowers delivered to our hotel in downtown Chicago early in the day, and still came to our venue later that night to assist the caterer with a room flip and to set up the arrangements herself. The level of personal service was exceptional. Multiple friends and family commented on how beautiful and unusual my bouquet was, and she nailed the exact look I was hoping for based on just a few photos I shared. I ended up being more picky than I thought about my wedding day flowers - I think I met with 4-5 florists before going to Joanne and Michelle at FlowersFlowers. I should have gone there first! By the time I met with them I knew more specifically what flowers I loved and which ones I did not want in my bouquets and Joanne was on the exact same page as me. I found at other shops that the florists didn't understand why I didn't want a typical white bouquet or to have all roses. FlowersFlowers was exactly what I wanted - not the standard, typical arrangements you see at every wedding. The flowers were gorgeous - I was blown away when I got to see them in person on our wedding day. Joanne even sent me a preview pic of the flowers once they arrived at the shop a few days before and that made me so excited to see everything come together. My husband and I got to peek in our reception room prior to all the guests entering and everything as amazing - all the arrangements were awesome (we did either a small grouping of 3 or 1 larger arrangement per table) and the flowers really tied everything together. I admittedly splurged within my budget on flowers, but I am so thankful I did. I have absolutely no regrets. And - to top it all off - we had told our guests to feel free to take an arrangement home with them at the end of the night since we were leaving right away for our honeymoon. We planned to take what was left over to a nursing home to donate. When we came to pick up the remainder of our arrangements on Sunday, 99% of the arrangements were gone! However, FlowersFlowers had some of the most reasonable prices around, and after meeting with Joanne the owner, I knew it was the right choice. She listened to what I wanted, and since I don't know that much about flowers, helped me figure out what would work best based on my vague, general ideas in our initial meeting. She helped me figure out ways to keep costs in check, including mixing in some non-floral centerpieces with floating candles and orchids that were beautiful.
